Recently attended an awards ceremony where this placed catered the food. Everything was so good. It had the chicken fingers with some bbq (although I called it pulled pork being from the Midwest lol) the fingers were amazing and seasoned very well, The bbq tasted very flavorful but the show stopper was the Mac and cheese!! We went here with a party of over 20 after setting up for a wedding. Service was great! And good was amazing.

We ended up going to the old location, but the new location was not too far away. This was a delicious meal filled with great flavors. My husband and I ordered a sampler plate that had pulled pork, brisket and fried bologna. The bologna had melted cheese on top--always a winner. The meats were tender and flavorful. My son ordered a sandwich with their house made chips. My daughter in love ordered the brisket platter with okra and Brunswick stew. For our sides we ordered the Brunswick stew and the pork rinds. The rinds were a hit at the table. I am a hush puppy lover, and these did not disappoint. They make their own desserts there, but we were full from the meal. Our server was very sweet and checked on us. The place is an old building, but they have gussied it up to make it a nice area. When we return to Sanford, we will definitely go there again. read more

I have to say this place might look like a hole in the wall, and it kinda is, but it's quite fantastic! We truly enjoyed our food and service was super friendly. Took a little while but they were super busy. The fries were crispy. The Cole slaw was just how I like it, creamy and slightly sweet and no big chunks of slaw. Sorry, this aint BBQ. Not in NC. No flavor. No spice. We have had good BBQ all over NC, Ga, Va & SC. There are lots of good and great around. Not this one. Pork rinds were pretty good as a consolation. We had three meats, Pull Pork, Turkey and Brisket. We dumped salt on everything to help bring out some taste. Pork tasted like it was boiled? No spice , no rub , no flavor. No smoke. Turkey, more of the same . No smoke flavor. Oven baked? Brisket might have had something, very little. We were told the potato salad was made with sweet relish. We couldn't locate any sweetness's. Cornbread tasted like a little like a lemon cake mix with cornmeal. While the exterior of the building is certainly underwhelming, the friendly staff turns it right around when you walk in the door. I ordered a two meat platter with brisket and pulled pork, the meat was tender and as close to perfect as I've had! They have southern style vinegar based sauce on the table But they also have Kansas City style sauce as well. Don't know about their other bbq meats, but the brisket was the absolute worst & most fatty/greasy we've ever had anywhere. Literally more than half of each of the few slices we were given were solid fat & the part that wasn't fat had a weird chewy kinda yet mushy texture we've never had with any other brisket & it left a terrible greasy taste in your mouth for a long time. I couldn't even eat more than a few bites covered in sauce to get them down & knew I'd likely be sick if I continued eating it so left it. The sides were just ok but hush puppies were stone cold. We were really disappointed after driving from Pittsboro hoping to have some good brisket as my husband's early Father's Day treat but learned you can't always believe all good reviews & it was so bad we sadly will def never go back. Best place we've found for great lean brisket still remains Danny's BBQ in Cary & all their sides are great too, just wish it was closer to home. read more

Best BBQ we have found since relocating from the west coast. Tried the pulled pork (smoked and really pulled, NOT prechewed and doused in vinegar like the rest of the state). Also tried the brisket, nachos, smoked bologna and out of this world ribs. Everything was absolutely delicious and the scratch made red bbq sauce is just the right combination of spicy with a touch of sweet. Sides of coleslaw, fries, and salad were equally delicious. Outstanding REAL (smoked) bbq here in Sanford! Brisket was perfectly smoked and portioned. Huge brisket stuffed potato perfectly topped with butter, cheese and real bacon bits. Sour cream and jalapeños on the side were a great addition! And a Juicy burger on a pretzel bun. The seating area is small and packed into the bbq sales area but we didn't mind that at all. Very happy to be recommended this restaurant from a co-worker since I was unaware it was there because I didn't see it on Yelp. The place is small with only 2 tables but the staff is so welcoming and friendly, you instantly feel at home. They have a lot of the regular BBQ fare but also serve some delicious items like fully loaded potatoes filled with BBQ and other goodies. My favorites were the BBQ (the sauce is amazing) and the mac n cheese! Very accommodating with the selection too. They do not have a kids menu but were happy to make my son 2 little BBQ sliders on mini pretzel rolls. So good! Happy to support this small local business!
