The pupusas are good! The cultido was not to my liking. Its fast and convenient to my home. I've been coming here for over 25 years.

I'm so in love that they have a drive-through and they have the best rice that I've seriously ever had. I got my son the cheese quesadilla and it was phenomenal as well. The service is always friendly here, the food always delicious, and the portions generous. One of my go to places for a quick guaranteed good meal. I've had nearly everything on the menu and it's hard to say what's my favorite, but I usually go with the chicken burrito with cheese because it's so huge and filling. Of course they have great tacos as well. Three-four mexican style tacos is enough to satisfy my craving. Careful with the red sauce! Stuff is good, but hot! They just recently started serving breakfast 5am-10am and so far I'm liking it. I've had the potato breakfast burrito, and the breakfast tacos w/ham (3) and they were good and filling, but just make sure you ask for crispy bacon if that's how you like it. I also tried the horchata coffee which I myself enjoyed though some who like the bitterness of coffee may find it to be a little too sweet. They serve regular roast as well for coffee purists. While I can't always afford to eat breakfast out, I definitely will stop by and grab something from them when I can. Hopefully they will get the support they need to continue serving it. read more

Some of the best Mexican food in the area. It's a little shack that's set up for "drive-around" service; however, you can park and walk up to the order window. They'll give you a number and then bring your food out to you. They provide a covered area in back if you want to eat there. Very nice, friendly service. Due to the set-up, there's no real "ambiance" but the covered eating area is well maintained. read more

This little drive thru restaurant for food to go is great. The tortillas are made daily and you can tell the difference. I had chicken tacos which were seasoned perfectly. Was looking for a place to eat and wanted to check it out. I love trying new restaurants, and I was not disappointed. I drove up to the window and placed my order. I was given a number for my cat to wait in a parking space until food was ready. It took less than 10 minutes. I was told by staff that if I come back again and don't want to wait, I can call the order in ahead of time. It was worth the wait. You can bring food home or eat at their covered outside area. My friend's friend suggested us to check out this place, since she recently moved to the area. It did not disappoint! Real, authentic tacos. If you're familiar with The Dog House around the Raleigh/Durham area, imagine that but tacos. It's a small little hut of a joint and you just drive up and place your order. They'll give you a magnet to place on the side of your car door, and come right up to you in the parking lot with your order. They offer "Mexican style" cilantro, lime or "American style" lettuce, tomato, sour creak, cheese . We tried a couple of both. The al pastor and chicken were my favorite. I'm so used to the American style of Mexican food and I have to tell you the Mexican style was delicious. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go! I haven't told you the best part yet.... the tacos are only $2.50 it doesn't get much better than that honestly. Great food at a great price. And the cherry on top, they use corn tortillas. I love this because I am gluten sensitive and can't eat regular flour tortillas. read more

Ever since my parents moved to Sanford in 2005, I've been wanting to go by Tacos El Primo. Something about its less-than-stellar exterior led me to believe that they would have the best tacos I've ever tasted. 9 years later, and I can finally confirm: Tacos at Tacos El Primo are, in fact, de-freaking-licious. My favorites: al pastor, steak, and chicken. We got 1 of every type of taco they had available, and they were all delicious. Even more impressive than the tacos were the pupusa, which are like cheese & meat-stuffed dough. Gosh, I'm salivating just thinking about them... The chicken tacos are the best I have ever had in the US or in Mexico for that matter. You just try it and you'll see . Tiny little place with a small menu but you will love what you get . These are 110% authentic tacos like from back home. The place looks closed from the front, so go ahead and pull in the parking lot the window is on the side . This little taco place is in what used to be one of those drive thru burger places, with a drive thru window on both sides of the little building, it looks like an old "Central Park" burger drive-thru. They serve tacos of various kinds along with burritos, tortas and a few other authentic Mexican treats. I ordered 2 carnitas and 2 al pastor tacos. They were pretty amazing, the carnitas were more like chopped bbq instead of chunks, they had great flavor and the al pastor was just as awesome, it was kinda like chorizo with pineapple flavor. The tacos are on homemade corn tortillas topped with onion and cilantro with lime on the side, I got some of their red sauce which has some big heat and was fantastic on the tacos. 2 thumbs up no doubt. read more

Soooooo good! I ordered two chicken tacos with just the meat my husband ordered to Garnet Asada tacos, all were good. We also ordered an Asada burrito and a pupusas with beans. It all came in a plastic bag that had Styrofoam plates covered in foil, napkins, forks, and salsa that is spicy and authentic. It took about 30 minutes to get home to eat it and it was still warm and so good! The pupusas is something that you need to eat straight away while it is warm and toasty other than that it was amazing! The staff is friendly and they are patient with those who do not speak Spanish. I love that it is Drive-through. There are however tables that are covered in the parking area, Which is nice especially when it gets hot and humid here in North Carolina. We cannot wait to go again, we are originally from California and have not found good Mexican food here in NC till now. read more

Phenomenal. Tacos El Primo is one of those places that just has that look that says, "we may not look pretty on the outside, but oh my gosh, we will have the most delicious food you've ever tasted." But seriously, don't let the exterior fool you. We ordered some of the best tacos, burritos, and quesadillas that I have ever eaten in my life. Not exaggerating. My mouth is literally salivating just thinking about the carne asada burrito. SO good. The workers are very friendly but don't speak much English. Though, they try their best to understand you and to have you understand them. Be aware that they only take cash. We made the mistake of not having any on us and awkwardly having to drive away to stop by an ATM to pick some up. Haha!! I most definitely recommend Tacos El Primo!! read more
