We switch it up and put on another color (that has always happened BEFORE the process of actually putting on my hair, just saying, she is a very easy person to talk to and has never EVER made me feel like I should be made to use a certain color/product, not once in the two years I have been seeing her). So not only is she awesome at colors, her prices??? I couldn't believe it!! We came from Groton (& before that, Honolulu, & before that? Saratoga Springs...we were a Submariner Navy family for 23 years) so we had been use to spending well over $250 just for my hair alone and that was just for my color (before tip). Let's just say she's under that for MY hair color. And yes she's under that for my daughter's as well. Now I do go and see her once a week for a blow out (it's my little splurge) but it's not that expensive considering how freaking much they are HERE. It's $25 for a wash and blow out and an awesome therapy session. She has become one of my closest friends. It's extremely hard to make friends here in Fairfield, dudes. Just sayin. You try coming from being a military wife that had a very open mind, and come into Fairfield about 110 pounds heavier than I am now...seizure meds and other medical issues makes one lose a crap ton of weight in about a year and yet? Sam has always just been SAM. I love going every Saturday morning, as does my daughter, dudes, she would rather not sleep in! She wants to come in and see Sam and tell her about her week! Now that's saying something!! You all need to give Lavish Studio a try. I did. It's worth more than these $400+ hair salons that I have tried and they RUINED my hair. Sam?? She brought it back to life (even when *i* am dying). So for real, I even bring my sons in here (and *they* love her and they are 18 and 16!!! She charges as the same as the barber and does better then the other barbers were doing, again just sayin). I say run to Lavish!! We are beyond grateful we did!!

My salon shut down completely due to COVID and this salon was well reviewed, plus they showcase many photos of beautiful long hair on their website, so I booked an appointment. The only availability I could find was with Suzanne. I came in with very long hair, past my waist. I was asked what I wanted to do, so I told Suzanne I wanted to cut a couple inches off and indicated where I wanted my hair to fall by placing my hand at the length I was interested in (middle of chest length). I was in the chair for maybe 4 minutes, she said she was going to do a dry cut and then we were going to go wash and come back to the chair to finish. She cut it slightly past my shoulders. Internally, I was freaking out. We went to wash, returned to the chair, and she started trimming. She asked how it was and I said, "we can't go back now, but it's way too short". At this point, she gave up doing any sort of layering to make the cut look more flattering, I think out of fear of doing more damage. I told her I wanted my bangs cut, and showed her an example photo of what I wanted my bangs to look like and how I wanted them to be above my glasses. She asked me if I curl my bangs when I dry them and I said I do not, and she proceeded to curl my bangs. I was on the brink of tears at this point and I regret not being more vocal in my appointment, but I couldn't sit there any longer and I said my bangs were fine after about 15 minutes of her trimming small amounts. I got up and paid, then went and cried in my car before leaving. I honestly just wanted to look pretty for the first time in a while and left feeling worse about myself and my decision to book this appointment with a hairdresser I did not know. I have no idea what other peoples' experiences have been with this particular hairdresser, but mine was terrible and I have no plans of returning to this salon. Some positives about the salon: the staff is very nice, the space is newly renovated with a modern and trendy style, and they are conveniently located in Devon right over the bridge from Stratford.
