Dinner was pretty good but I'd likely skip the opportunity to eat there again as the prices don't justify it for what you get. We had the calamari and baked feta to start. The baked feta was probably my favorite part of the meal. I tried the pizza, it was a pretty tasty thin pie. I'd like the crust to be a tad crispier. I appreciate wine but enjoy beer more. The ladies said the wine left a bit to be desired so I'll take their word for it. I had a few pours of the house lager. We came at about 2pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was already packed so we parked out on the gravel drive into the parking lot. We were able to easily sit at the bar but they were plenty of tables open. I was really interested in trying several of their house wines and our favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon. We really wanted to also try the Sauvignon Blanc but it was sold out, so it must be popular! The Cab sav had good tannins but the Pinot noir was kind of flavorless. I vastly prefer their cab sav. I also tried their winter rose and viognier. The rose was good as expected and the viognier was sweeter than I like for wine, which may be your thing. Over all it was a good experience. I do wish their printed bottles list included some short tasting notes or at least what's dry vs sweet. I could google it but that's some work as there is an extensive list! This is a beautiful spot that feels like its in the countryside, not right in the middle of Scott's Addition. Brambly Park has a huge outdoor seating area, some under a roof, and others out in the trees. There's a large stage for live music and sweet twinkly lights all around. My friends and I feasted on the appetizers, ordering the charcuterie board with focaccia, crab dip, and arancini. Everything blew me out of the water and was fresh & delicious. I'm not too much of a wine lover, but the Brambly Park Virginia Chardonnay was probably the most delicious wine I've had. After finishing the liter of Chardonnay, we also shared the Brambly Park Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, also a great pick. I am a big fan of tiramisu and couldn't resist when I saw it on the dessert menu. It was light, fluffy, flavorful and sweet. Could have used a few more lady fingers, but the cream was perfect! There was no live music when I visited on a Friday night, but I can only imagine how much more fun this place would be with music! This park is not dog friendly! The staff is rude! It's not safe to walk around outside as there's literally light bulb strings on the ground everywhere (watched an elderly woman fall because of this). My friends had reserved a yurt to celebrate 2 bdays, we waited 20 minutes past our reservation (while no one else was using it) and it was disgustingly dirty inside, the waitress was very rude, and ultimately we decided not to stay. The positives are the location, the staff, and the openness of the venue. I like the half of the place is outdoors but it was odd to me that so many tables were empty and they still required a reservation even for outdoor seating. I waited about 30 mins for a picnic table while they were empty virtually the entire time. I can get passed that because I went to the outdoor bar and ordered a drink. Their froze costs me $15 plus tip and their PPE charge so.. $20. I paid that for drinks by the pool at the Fountanbleau but I didn't expect to pay that on a picnic table in Richmond, VA. It was a little ridiculous. I paid 100$ for a dozen oysters and two drinks. Personally, it's a little much. I think this place is lovely, and I make decent money but I'm not sure I could come here casually on weekends. Just isn't worth the price point. The menu was also incredibly limited. I ordered "the pretzel with beer cheese" and the cheese was horrible. It was solid, and resembled more of a pimento cheese than a beer cheese. I wouldn't order that again. A lot of the items I wanted weren't available. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful so I'll give them that. Went here a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. There seemed to be a good mix of people hanging out on a Saturday, which was nice. The food, however, was terrible. We ordered a pizza and when it was served to us at the table, the center was still doughy and uncooked. The waiter offered us a different entree, but we decided to not bother and went to eat somewhere else afterwards. The apps were edible but unremarkable. Tucked away in the back of Scott's Addition, Brambly Park offers a refreshingly different experience from the many breweries in the area. With their open venue, performance stage, decent food, and variety of beverages -- it's easy to spend a relaxing afternoon here. You can reserve their tables in advanced to skip the wait. They have a QR code at your table to scan and you just order everything through their site. The orders come out relatively quickly and the staff here have always been very pleasant and helpful. If you're going to get food, I would recommend just sticking with their simple snack items and skipping anything that sounds too "fancy". Their food overall is better than what you can find at typical breweries/wineries and it's nice that they are ambitious with their pretty wide array of offerings. Just don't overshoot your expectations though. One thing I do enjoy are their totes and waffle fries; which come out hot, crispy, and well seasoned with salt and pepper. Their potato chips also seem to be housemade and are nice and crunchy. Of the heartier things I've tried, I did enjoy their meatball sub-- but the portion was really small for what you pay for. Their burgers are pretty basic and have been overcooked the times I have ordered them, but at least it tastes like they use fresh and not frozen beef. Their calamari was very disappointing, meat platter was underwhelming for what you pay for, turkey sandwich I could have made myself. First and foremost, I never write reviews. I'm low maintenance, don't complain, and can figure things out despite a bad situation. That said, this was a bad experience and I felt the need to let others know who may book larger reservations. We had a large group reservation for a work meeting and I asked ahead of time if they could accommodate a quiet space for us to have a meeting and talk with little distractions. I was told that while they don't have a private room, and they couldn't control all outside noise, they would do what they could to accommodate a quiet spot for us given that our reservation was during a dead time of day and that it wouldn't be a problem for them to seat others away from our table. I even went several days ahead to check out the space and the manager said they would seat us away from other tables. Almost immediately the hostess started seating people near our table such that it didn't work, despite there being open, empty tables further away. I nicely asked the hostess if she could seat new tables that came in either inside or farther away that were vacant and she said she would. However, she purposely and deliberately sat the very next table, who were "walk-ins", even closer than the previous table. We would have stayed longer and spent more money but we had to end up quickly eating and move to a section outdoors that was closed, and ended up standing, to have our meeting. It was a very strange experience given the hostess deliberately doing the opposite of what I very nicely asked her not to do even though there were tables further away. I talked with several people afterwards and they shared similar experiences for larger group reservations. They said the staff was rude and not helpful. I experienced the same, unfortunately (mainly with the hostess). I wasn't expecting them to do the impossible. Had they truly been busy and had no other tables to seat but those that were close to ours, I would've understood (as that was the risk I was willing to take based on my conversation with the manager). But when the hostess deliberately sat people close to our table despite my nice request and there being tables further away, it was clear they didn't care about our business. Talk about over-the-top great service. Alex is the best and her boss needs to give her a raise. I lost my keys at Brambly Park last weekend while visiting family (2.5 hours from where I live). Fortunately the keys had a fob on them and I realized that they were at Brambly. I called and Alex could not have been nicer and more helpful. She looked for them near our table and then again near our car. She found them hanging from a tree branch - thanks to some mysterious good Samaritan. Alex called me back with the good news and put my keys in the office safe. How serendipitous that my niece was taking her husband back to Brambly for a wine pairing dinner yesterday! A friend and I came and checked this place out day 2 of its opening. So to preface the review, you will need a reservation to sit at any of the tables but the chairs and the lawn up for grabs, no Rez needed! So we walk in and go to the right where there have a table set up for you to order. They had I want to say 5/6 options of wine available ranging from $25-$30 a bottle. They also offered some beer options as well. For our first bottle we opted for the sav blanc, which was very tasty! After finding a seat and listening to the live music, we decided to order another bottle as well as some food! We were so impressed at the ordering situation. The QR code on the seats were so easy to use and very convenient (didn't have to leave our seat at all!) We ordered their kale ceasar salad as well as a bottle of rosé! The salad was DELICIOUS, we were very surprised at how good the salad was, I'd honesty go back just to eat that again, so good. The rose was refreshing as well, it wasn't too sweet but it wasn't too dry. Everything you want a rose to be. Overall I would recommend checking this place out. I've been to Brambly Park about three times now so this review is far overdue. I can't say enough good things about the service or the atmosphere! Both the inside and the patio have been wonderful. The parmesan truffle fries, baked feta, and crispy Brussels sprouts were SO GOOD. I could eat those fries every day of my life! This past visit I opted for some vodka sodas and really enjoyed them, but I've had a number of their wines previously and never been disappointed with a glass. This place is great! I will say I was a bit disappointed that wine is not made here, bending the traditional definition of a winery where wine is actually made. The menu and their website mention they have grape juice imported from California, Spain, Oregon, Virginia, and South America. I should've read that beforehand, but I was just excited to learn about where they grow their grapes and what they had to offer. Right now I think Garden Grove is the only place in the city that has grapes in Virginia and they make their own wine. Anyways, it was a lovely time experience overall! The atmosphere is great, the spacing between tables is nice, I like how you can reserve ahead of time, and ordering online is easy, contactless, and quick. I was hired to create a circle balloon arch for a surprise proposal at this place, and this was my first time here. I got there 2 hours early and had no issues finding a park since there were only my car and 2 others in the lot. I was able to fight my way through crazy winds, trying to blow my balloons away while I was creating the arch, but boy was a struggle; I had to literally tie everything down. Thank god I brought sand bags to hold the arch down! Anyway, the staff was super nice and accommodating - even offered to help if needed. Once my arch was up, I left even though I wanted to wait and see the proposal lol Now.... 2 1/3 hrs later, when I came back to take it all down... The parking lot was packed out to the street. My family came to visit for the weekend and Brambly Park offered the full experience for my siblings and mom to enjoy! We kicked off Saturday morning at the park practicing yoga for the first time. While it was a toasty, summer day, the winery offered plenty of shade to keep us cool and enough space to obey the social distance parameters. The instructor was patient and well educated, making it a Saturday routine I see myself continuing. Upon leaving, we were informed live music would be offered at the park later in the day making us eager to return with a friend and my mom. With no reservations available, the space does try to accommodate walk-ins. We were very appreciative of the staff providing us with a table to enjoy the music and wine. I typically enjoy dry wines and have to say, we tried them all and I have no complaints! A perfect selection for all tastebuds. The winery also offers outdoor games to add a little extra fun from corn hole to bocce. We also brought card games to play while listening to music and enjoying fresh air. This is quite the little set up and so expected in the Scott's Addition area. A group of 10 of us rented one of the yurts as a Galentine's celebration and it was so fun! This was a very fun way to experience Brambly especially as a large group, the staff was amazing as I know handling a large group like that is incredibly challenging. I came to Brambly Park for a girl's night and it was the perfect location for such a great outing! Luckily, we had reservations because they were BUSY. The weather was slightly chilly but they had heaters and the fire pits going so it was rather perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and helped guide us through the menu. We started with the parmesan truffle fries which were HEAVENLY and the antipasti board which was the perfect shareable. Brambly Park is so spacious with an indoor/outdoor area and a covered patio!
