Great staff, easy fun course. Overpriced for value of overall course. This is a $40 course, not $62.

This place is just okay. It's lagging behind some of its competitors at the moment. I didn't think…read morethe data I was getting really matched with what I see out on the range, on the golf course, or from other indoor simulators. The system, GTS, is cool where the golf ball auto loads onto the tee. But the quality of the golf balls are really low, the graphics aren't great, and again, I don't trust the data all the time. Bare bones inside which I don't mind.

My son wanted to learn golf and I wanted him to learn in an environment without all of the…read moredistractions you have at the range so he can focus on stance, swing, and feel. After some research, I thought @GolfHouse would be a great first experience for him since they offer junior coaching and it's similar to a video game. When I emailed them with questions, they were the most quick and complete in response than any of the other Ashburn area courses. At this point we're 3 sessions in. Coach Ju Hee is very professional and confident, but has just the right style to keep my 10 year old engaged. In each session she has walked the line effectively between correcting swing issues and helping him understand how the game works, while also keeping it fun and engaging for him, which is probably the most important part at this point. The sessions involved 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of free time in the bay which I'll sometimes use to take a few swings with my son. So far, this seems to be the right mix. Coach also shared the before/after swing photo I posted from session 2. While I'm not sure if other local coaches have this type of tech, I think this is a significant advantage because of the real-time feedback and insight it gives her into exactly what is happening. It's also great for us to see the progress he's making. Overall, I definitely would recommend @GolfHouse and Coach Ju Hee for lessons. At some point I'll probably book a bay with some of my friends who are more serious golfers during a lesson and see what they think about it.

First of the golf courses. The RTJ 2 course is a great track. Some beautiful holes out here. Also…read morehas one of the tougher finishes. 18 is a brute. The Norman course just doesn't do it for me anymore. Flat and in the low lying area of the property so the conditions can be dicey at times. Fun the first coupe of times but after a while most of the holes start looking like each other. It has either OB or hazards on either side of narrow fairways. They also narrow in where your drive goes on the majority of the par 4s. Very tough if you aren't hitting the ball well off the tee. Around the greens are bunkers or some Pete Dye like shaved areas. I'm sure this place is great if you stay here or are a member, but they don't treat tournament rounds very well. On this particular day, the greens on the RTJ 2 course were perfect and I was excited to play there. But there was a "scheduling mishap," so we were switched to the Norman course last minute. First off, I almost dropped out because I'm not a fan on the Norman course. What was truly disappointing was they just aerated and sanded the greens days before, and they did the tee boxes the week before. Greens were terrible. Not sure why Lansdowne would schedule 100 or so golfers on a course that looks like that. Fairways were also bad in spots but that's acceptable considering the weather we've had this year. Only fairway that was in terrible shape (crabgrass) was the par 5 on the far end of the course. Let's just say it wasn't worth the entry fee or the drive. I've been here a bunch of times and the customer service is very visible but not always very welcoming. It just gets worse every year. The pro shop is very well stocked but overpriced. The range is great but it's a struggle to find golf balls to hit. They have three putting greens, just don't use the one right next to the upper level of the range. It's a great property and I want to like it as I used to. But it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit anymore.
