This place is a RIPOFF... after my breaks were taken apart, one caliper broken off. I opted for turning the rotors which should only be about $20 each. New caliper order from I dont know where. This week I had to get an oil change for my truck and went back to Brakes Plus, on West Northern Avenue at S. Prairie Avenue, and later discovered my Power Steering Cap was not on the reservoir. I contacted Manager Terry G. and explained my issue. Manager Terry G. took it upon himself to assure me that I will be afforded a replacement at Brakes Plus cost. I brought my car in with noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. It needed new control arms, and some kind of tie-rod bit I didn't fully understand. My Chrysler is nineteen years old, so some of the bigger things are starting to wear out. While I was at it, I asked them to fix my broken door handle and do an oil change. That "Plus" bit in the name covers a lot of ground. Anyway, it sucked to hear that I needed all that work. But the guys there worked to keep the expense down. They didn't try to upsell me anything. I've been going there a few years now, and I've gotta say, they're just good people. I always have great experiences with them. They have good "garage door" manner. They're helpful and flexible and generally cheerful people. It's not some over-enthusiastic, fake corporate customer service model. I honestly have had two great experiences with these guys. First time I did walk away with a $1000 bill but it was things I took the car in for and knew it would be costly to get it all done. The second time I came in for an issue that they they determined was not really and issue and fixed it super quick and send me on my way no charge. They let me see the machines they are using and never tried to up charge me or charge me for something that was not really a concern. Their interactions with the other customers were super respectful and polite. The way they dealt with some of the elderly customers was upstanding. Are there companies out there that want to take your money and do things without reason? Probably. But these guys seem more like they want your future business vs getting a few dollars out of you now. I will continue coming back to them for our needs based on this principal alone. Took my car in for brakes. They did the brakes and turned the rotors. Was squeaking so I brought it back the next day. They said it was fine. Fast forward to bringing it back 2 more times. They said its my parking brake hardware causing it to squeak. They said hardware looked new. But it squeaks all the time now. It wasn't making any noise before I brought it to them. I came in here to get my Freon recharged after putting in a whole new system after I left the brakes plus when I came home open up to her to check my oil I could hear a hissing sound and it was the service port where the connection is, the gentleman told me That I should've replaced that part they never told me anything about it and they let it go saying there's no way to test it to see if it's leaking which mini mechanics tell me that's incorrect so after making a complaint, they did install a new service port free of charged but I guess I got damaged while they put it in. It doesn't leak but it's all scratched up. I will update with pictures once I could find them. read more

This is my second time, going to Brakes Plus, on the Southside of Pueblo, CO, off Prairie. It was another great experience. They have a new manager, Terry, and he was very pleasant to do business with. I got to use my Lifetime Warranty, to get my front brakes changed out. So, I only had to pay the service & ​labor price which is always nice. I will need to go back again, to get my shocks and struts replaced, in the future. I am very excited about that, because Terry explained that there is a lifetime warranty on those parts as well. I had alignment done four times couldn't get it done told hem there machine was off and needed to be recalibrated. One kid did it three time young kid. Third time he said it's good this time he just made sure my steering wheel was just straight and that's was it. I drive again down the road and veered off to the far right. The head mechanic tried to get once but he couldn't get I told them to quit trying it was the machine not them. I told them to fix that sputtering noise from my parking brake because I replaced my own brakes and rotors and they couldn't even fix that. Made me order a part I didn't need still made that noise after I left the shop and I told the manager to give me a refund for everything he did for the alignment but not the parking brake noise. Would fix it my self but I work out of town a lot so I needed alignment and to fix that noise of the parking brake so I figure let them do it but was a bad choice don't know if I could trust the place again and not to mention one of the shop guys stole my ray ban sun glasses black and gold ones that's I paid 250 for missing out of console. I would like to talk to the owner of this place. Mangers do have good customer service tho that's one plus to this place and head mechanic had good customer service to beside the young kid that tried to cheat everything. Update: They did they give me a free oil change. Mike the Manager took care of me so that was pretty cool. They finally got there alignment calibrating rack right and it actually rides a lot then those other times!! He even gave me front shocks and struts free of charge thanks mike and the owner for doing this great customer service guys!! I took my car there less than a year ago.. when I got my car back, my brakes felt the same. As soon as I drove it off the lot, it had a weird rattle to it that was never there before; took it back and asked and was reassured that it was my shocks. When I finally had enough money to take my car to my trusted mechanic an hour and a half out of town, he told me that my breaks were old and was shocked I told him that I paid money to get them done not even a full year ago. He said that the brake cable was loose and not fully tightened- which was the main reason for my rattling noice, nothing was wrong with my shocks. What scares me the most is that if that cable would have fallen off, I wouldn't have anything to stop my car! You would think that because BRAKES is in the name, they would be good at fixing brakes and not try to take advantage of females. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more
