Mark and Kevin are honest guys. Most recently took all 3 of my vehicles here. First time around Mark who was the store manager at the time inspected my infinity SUV and told me only thing needing replacement was the rear brakes. Next vehicle up was my wifes Mercedes, Kevin the new manager did an inspection and recommended rear brakes only, said the fronts are good for another 6 months or so. Lastly took my chevy Tahoe in for a complete brake job. Same day service even after dropping off the vehicle at 1100 a.m. Brakemasters will give you up to a 10 percent discount for being Law enforcement/first responder which definitely eases the dent in the wallet. I will continue bringing my vehicles here and recommend them to others for brake needs. read more

Very, very disappointed with the service I had done. First off I brought my brake pads to them. I just needed my roaders turning and the brake pads put on. I also paid additional to have an alignment done. I left with the seats of my car covered in stains and grease, my car still unaligned, and my right front roader making a really weird noise. Especially being that I have had nothing but excellent service as my father is a Lead Mechanic at another location. read more

I've already taken 2 of my vehicles to this place for brakes. Les Schwab tires quoted me $700, these guys did an awesome job for $280. The Dodge dealership wanted $1,100 for my truck, these guys put all new brakes for $400. They really do live up to their company statement: "get an honest break". read more

If I could give this place a minus zero star rating I would. This place is horrible! They are gold digging crooks! I went in this place today and. I walked in and I just asked the guy at the counter a question. I just asked what was the wait time for an oil change and there were some people sitting behind me. He said very rudely, IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEIR VEHICLE. I was about to walk out now. I wished I would have but I was running out of time before I had to be to work is why I didn't. I said how much is a basic oil change? He said $24.95 before taxes. He said after tax about 32.00. I said okay. He says well which oil change do you want? I said I will take the cheapest one you mentioned. He said rudely again. THERE IS NO CHEAP ONE! JUST EXPENSIVE! I said well I'll take the 24.95 oil change. SO I filled out all the information and every thing. He said we will get to work on it right a way. I said okay and after they pulled my car in. When I got my receipt. The guy marked it up to $37.00 by the time. I walked out of there. My bill for a basic oil change that he said would only come to $24.95 before tax came to $41.75 after tax. Before he gave me my receipt. He asked me if I wanted an air filter and a brake line flush done. This place is very crooked don't waste your time with a place like this. Would not recommend this place. First off, they had a sign on the street for transmission fluid flush for$99. I walk in they want to charge me $129, luckily I had a coupon for $89, had to remind him 3 times it was for $89 and showed it of course. Then I Dropped my car off at 11am was told it would be ready by 3pm, 3:50 rolls arounds my ride drops me off my car is sitting in the same parking space, they said my car was next saying the flush takes about 1 hour. waited until 4:40 they pull my car in, now I'm worried there gonna do a half ass job cause they waited for my car to be last and they close at 5:30. So the 1 hour job they said it takes took him 25 mins, he calls me as I'm sitting in the parking lot stating I got 10 mins to get my car. When I tried to pay I tried to get a quote for spark plugs, they were in such a rush to close (it being 5:20) he told me less then 1 million and left it at that. I again just asked well how much just for spark plugs and same response. This is my first time going here and my last, I have to trust the people working on my car and this place just wanted my wallet. read more

I came to Brake Masters to have my battery tested and found out that I needed a new one Bought one and had it installed by JR who was very nice and helpful. Henry who works at the desk was great too. Very friendly and nice. Both of them made the trip worth coming to Brake Masters. Found out that my alarm remotes needed new batteries. They were extremely professional and helpful!! I've been taking my cars here for years and I don't know if it's because they changed management or what but the service is really bad. I just made an appointment for them to check out my rear brakes because they were squeaking a lot, they call me later saying that I need new rear pads and a brake flush which is understandable but they also told me that I needed new rotors too because the ones that were on my vehicle were "not serviceable" so I needed new ones... I didn't agree with what they were saying because they could of just been resurfaced instead of changed out (they weren't worn down enough to be changed). I agreed to having it done because I had planned on changing them soon anyways. I dropped my car off at 7:30am and didn't hear anything from them until 11:00am, they told me I needed all that done and would be getting the parts soon. I call back 2 hours later asking for the progress on my vehicle and was told that they just got the parts and would be installing them right then and it would take about 45 minutes. I didn't live that far away so I decided to walk there at close to the hour mark to give them more time if needed. I get there and the guy tells me that they just realized that they put on the wrong pads and they just got the right ones and they were installing them now. I said that's fine I'll just wait since I walked there. I ended up waiting there another 2 1/2 hours for them to just install the rear pads... So in total I waiting 9 hours to get my car back and was charged $500 with no compensation or apology for waiting basically all day for them to change out my rear brakes. I understand that things happen but that just doesn't seem right... read more

So I felt a subtle grinding in my brakes and the dealer had said last year that my brakes were going to need to be done soon despite the fact it only had 22k miles. So now a year later at 28k miles I figure it's time and take it into Brake Masters found them online. Mark is great gets me checked in and all that I leave it there so they can do the repairs. Mark calls says hey I'd love to do your brake job but your brakes are fine in fact almost like new what you hear is just the metal bits in the brake pad going up against the rotor. So go back he signs me out $0 charged. And they checked my tire pressure, brake fluid level etc. Well I tell you when it actually needs brakes I will be going right back to Mark they know their stuff and are honest something I can't say for the Mercedes dealer in San Jose who lied to me about the state of the brakes last year. Also saw the way Mark interacted with his technicians and with the other customers this guy knows how to be an excellent manager and give great customer service to boot! I just seen they had few new guys here, finally...I went to get oil changed ,A nice young man forgot his name darn it..came over to me introduced his self and chatted few mins..That was a first for this place..it was a refreshing start of my day..ask me what I needed told him just oil changed..we talked few mins before he had to start his day..Then he went off to back to get organized for the day..i filled out paper work and got my car in right away...while sitting there waiting they had fresh pot coffee on..i brought Starbucks or i would of enjoy a cup..as sitting there i chatted with a nice man who was waiting for work on his grandsons car..we chatted..and few chats with customer service employees. Very pleasant...My car was done in good time..and they even put new wind shield wiper on. that I had not done yet (myself)...they were very pleasant, and a big change in employees was a plus for them..I stopped going for awhile .but decided try them again.was very pleased I did..Thank you to the young man who started my day with a welcoming hand shake and a welcoming smile...I will be Back!!! read more

I'm shocked by the low reviews of this place. My husband and I have both taken our cars here in the last few months, and they have got to be one of the most honest automobile service places out there. I actually brought my car there because of how honest they were with my husband. We both thought we needed new brakes, but both times Bob called and let us know that we didn't. My husband had some other services done since his car was already there, but I didn't need anything else done. They didn't charge me a dime for checking my car. I will definitely be going back here and will highly recommend them to anyone I know. It is so nice to know that they aren't out to take advantage of you. read more

I had a visit to the Manteca Break Masters because I had business to take care of there this last week, there was an employee who introduced him self as Kevin, he was very knowledgeable about my car and told me of a few things that other break shops had never mentioned in all of the times I had taken my vehicle in to different places, he made me aware of replacement of air filters and cabin filters and I didn't even know that existed. I had taken my car for an oil change the day before to a different oil change company that claimed to be "Speedy" but they did something wrong and I discovered a big oil slick on my driveway when I got home from a long commute. I tried calling the "Speedy" company for help but they were closed. I needed the leak to stop and wasn't sure where it was coming from. Luckily the guys at Brake Masters were just about to close shop but agreed to help me out. They were able to find the problem and fix it fast. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Please DO NOT take your vehicle here! They are slow as hell!! Assistant Manager Henry is rude and unapologetic. These mechanics he has staffed mistreat your vehicle. I wasted my entire Saturday trying to get my brakes done just the rear and I dropped off my car at 11:20am the Assistant Manager Henry said a couple of hours....that turned into nearly 6hours. Then as I was fed up with waiting at home for a phone call I decided to go down there and see what the hold up was. As I am walking up I see a mechanic toss a clipboard onto the hood of my car. I checked, there were scratches. I confronted Henry about this he looked at my vehicle and said "wash it and come back to check for scratched" I then proceeded to tell him "no need, you can see them" I showed them to him. He just stared at me with no words. No apology! No attempt to rectify what had just happened. I will be taking this matter further. I just hope no one else entrusts this Brake Masters location with their vehicle. If I could give no stars I would. read more

It's really irritating having an appointment set up for nearly a week to arrive and be told that they can't see my car because it was too slow earlier in the dag so they let a few people go home. WHY WAS I NOT TOLD BEFOR MY APPOINTMENT TIME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESCHEDULE. Why was I not told to move my appointment up if theyd been so slow? I had requested a simple oil change to begin with but my check engine light had also be on, which is something I thought they could also check during the appointment. But no, Kevin decided to giggle in my face and proceed to tell me an oil change doesn't have anything to do with the light. I know that. And then told me he could check what the light means on his machine... IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO GIVE ME AN OIL CHANGETHEN YOU DENFINITLY DONT HAVE TIME TO FIX WHATEVER IS WRONG ACCORDING TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. For someone whose been going there for 2 years faithfully for every repair I needed. I'd never recommend again. Kevin's certainly a downgrade from Marc. Wasted my time here. read more

I tried replacing my rear brakes on my own....and I broke a seal so brake fluid went everywhere. I was able to drive it to this shop and they were able to get me in and repair it quickly. They are very professional and charge reasonable rates. Later I went back for another reason and they also did a great job that time. They actually went above and beyond what I expected. I went in to obtain information on my front brakes on 7/6. I had already received pricing from three other shops. The guy at the from counter was extremely rude. He said "I don't give estimates on brake jobs because there's no way to tell what needs to be done without looking at the car." Um, I need front brake shoes & rotors, for my car. Why is that difficult to estimate? After I gave him my car information, (I'm guessing that he assumed I didn't have any idea of what kind of car/engine/model/size etc,. I drove because that's how he treated me. He gave me a verbal estimate of $289. There wasn't anyway in hell I would have trusted this dude with my car after being treated not only rudely, but also like I'm an idiot. Had the work done the next day for less than $200 by JC Auto on North Main St, (they are awesome.) I'll tell anyone who'll listen to avoid this place. read more

My niece calls me and says her car needs a radiator around $300 but she is at a shop who offered to help her out for $200 parts and labor. I say wow that's a good deal they must be nice guys I'll call you back but I don't think I can help with any $ right now. I could tell she was stressed and about to lose it but I had to get back to work. Before I could call her back she called and said the guy there (Robert) offered to help her and get her on the road today. This is not the first time they have demonstrated a willingness to help her and not just get in her pocket. I think the 1 star reviews I've read about them were written by cheap jerks read more

Great customer relations BUT my only issue was when i set up the appt for a $19.95 oil change, they talked me into getting the $31.95 which come with tire rotation which i accepted but to find out they did not rotate my tires. My car only had 31k miles so they cant say its an old or worn out tires. read more

I received very good service, brake master crew were very thorough. After the service, there was still an enjoying noise while braking at slow speeds. The manager offered to further inspect the issue at no cost. When picking up my car the first time, there was a confrontation with another customer. She didn't give the manager a chance to apologize for the issue at hand. She was a total b***h. I would recommend these guys. read more
