Bring in for alignment, told me they can do the custom alignment with 1 years warranty after the car is done they denied my warranty and found out they didn't even tightening the alignment bolt which cause the car the waddle down the road and clunk while driving. SCAM SCAM SCAM. (I ended up doing the work myself) I needed my cv axle replaced. Was told the boots were torn and there was no grease. They also told me my diver side needed to be replaced because it was loose and there was play. CV axles brand new out the box have play and once I took my car apart myself it was clear there was no physical damage. Gave me an estimate of $850. CV axles cost $60-$110 .... They mostly source from auto-zone, I know because I asked. I asked how much it would be if I got the parts myself and he said labor alone was around $350. So two cv axles 220, plus $350 in labor, that's $570. Where is that extra $280 coming from??? Also they said I had an oil leak from my valve cover gasket, I just topped off my car the other day with oil because I was at my 5k mark and spilt a little bit, definitely not a leak. Only took it in for an inspection, ended up leaving with damage and was told they didn't do it. The gentleman at the counter was nice and was able to replace my wheel covers, which was pretty legit. Thank you for that. But for everything else. I was shocked , honestly did not expect what I was told. I've worked on cars my whole life , rebuilt my own 302 and the one time I was feeling lazy. Brought in for overheating 2/23/26. Spent $700, was told it was fixed. My car smelled like weed after I got it back, no improvement at all for the overheating. Quoted $600 (2/26/26) more to actually fix it after I brought it back, because they misdiagnosed the issue. Picked the car up instead, now my car has more body damage than when I dropped it off. They claim they have no idea what I'm talking about. Serious issues with the paint now, huge dings. Completely horrible. Never do business here. read more

A+, old fashioned, honest shop right here! Took my old high milage SUV in to get a quote on some work. They came back with a fair price and let me decide if the work was worth it for my vehicle. When I decided to hold off, they agreed and didn't try to pressure me into low priority work. They got my respect right there. Lame. I have taken my cars here for awhile. Took a Kia sorrento in for a brake check but called before hand. Was quoted on the phone for about 450 with pads and rotors for the front. Car was pulsating every time you hit the brakes. After inspection they said everything was fine that sometimes cars just do that. Not in my experience. Asked them to go ahead and replace the rotors in the front. Still charged me 450. When I asked about why the initial cost being 450 for both rotors and pads dude at the front said it was because the rotors were a certain price each. Which is fine. But why the difference? On the phone 450 for pads and rotors. In reality 450 for just the rotors. The pulsating is gone after asking for rotors to be changed. But shouldn't have been two different prices. Probably going elsewhere next time. read more

I was considering buying a used car near this location in Manteca. They were great in making an appointment for as soon as I could collect the car and bring it for evaluation. They found an issue with the brakes (which I could have waited on, but didn't) and cabin air filters. I bought the car, brought it back and was given a good price on the repairs, I was out of there promptly and even enjoyed sitting in their large waiting room and watching the customers come and go. I totally respected how Jordan ran the operation, and how he handled my questions and schedule. Totally trusted the workers, and yes I drove 50+ miles each way to get there. This business is run by truly GOOD people. I'm waiting to have my oil changed and every person is treated with respect and kindness which is rare in this day and age. They will honor their coupons whether you print them out or not and they let you know about them even if you were unaware there was a coupon. Make an appointment though, because they are ALWAYS busy! Honest is what i can say I came to brake masters to get a wheel alignment them knowing I am not from Manteca. My car was pulling to the right. I figured it was the wheel alignment. They could of easily respected my wishes and did the wheel alignment for me like I asked and send me on my way, but they were good people and they didn't charge me nothing and advised me what the problem was. They also were extremely on organized, slow, and had no problem wasting peoples time. My car sat there for an entire day and they ended up not doing anything for me except costing me $30 in Lyft rides and trying to scam on me probably because I'm a woman and they thought I was as dumb as a box of rocks. After taking my car to the dealership for an oil change they said I needed breaks and rotors. I decided to give brake masters a call. The person I spoke to named Derek was very polite and helpful. He had me go in for a free evaluation and was able to save me a lot more money than the dealership. They were able to resurface my rotors and save me money and replaced both brakes I needed at a way lower price then the dealership quoted me on. read more

I took my high mileage suv in here to get an oil change. I came in the morning and my day was already hectic as it is, add a toddler to lug around. I came in and I was met by the friendly person who worked behind the desk who took his time and was very patient with me. I got confused as to which service I wanted as my husband was the one who made the appointment. He gave me some info about the different service they offer and settled with the one my vehicle needed. Also, while driving that morning I kept hearing clanking noise behind the vehicle's dashboard. I informed them about this and they did check it but found nothing serious and didn't charge for that service. I waited and didn't take long for my vehicle to get done as they weren't busy that morning. I like that I can go here and not feel intimidated. On 12/05/2020 I brought my Toyota Tundra to these guys for a free brake inspection i was an hour early to my appt at 2pm. They didn't mind at all and got me in. During the inspection of my brakes I was informed and was taken in shop to show me that I was in need of front rotors and the rear rotors could be resurfaced. We went back to the office I received my quote on new rotors and brakes and received a quote with resurfaced rotors and new rotors with brakes on rear. 0 stars. My husband didn't realize that they were completely separate from O'Reilly & bought brakes from O'Reilly but asked Brake Masters to put them in. After a couple days, we had to bring our car back in because it was smelling like burned rubber. They check it out & tell my husband that since he brought in his own brakes & didn't buy it from them, that if it's faulty, there's nothing they can do about it. Funny, if you're a brake master, you'd notice a faulty part before even installing it & we wouldn't have had any issues going back to O'Reilly over a faulty part. After they check the car over again, they concluded that it was oil that needed to be burned off? I'm not a car person but that still didn't make sense to me. I'm currently pregnant so I wasn't feeling good about sitting in my husband's car so he's been driving mine. When we decide to drive his car again (it's been sitting in the driveway for about a week or two) we hear a sound that sounds like the tire is flat or we ran something over but didn't find anything. Upon closer inspection, my husband found that the rear passenger brake was loose & that it's missing 2 screws & bolts. Wear & tear or not, 2 whole ass screws & bolts don't come off just like that. Chris did a great job in getting my car repaired. Took my car to 2 other mechanics and they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with my car after replacing the part that they said was causing the issue. The check engine light would come back on after replacing the new part. I called brakemasters and Chris said bring it in. I took it and what do ya know it was never the part that was replaced by the other mechanics. After spending hundreds of dollars on parts and diagnostics Chris repaired my car for only $30 check engine light is off and I'm ready to roll. Had an appointment scheduled for my vehicle and i brought in the car and 4 hours later i was told my car is not getting touched today due to the manager not having time . After making me wait in 102 degree weather outside his shop for 4 hours i am told i will not be receiving any service . The manager is disrespectful and does not have one lick of customer service experience. I was robbed out of 575$ for "changing" my oil pan because my car had a leak and after changing the oil pan my car still leaked and leaked even worse and now i am having engine problems and they refuse to give me a refund or try to attend to my problem . There prices are cheap because the service is cheap the customer service sucks and is just at a preschool level . I will never recomment this hole in the wall to anyone because that experience was the trashiest experience i ever had i never write yelp reviews but that day i had 3 others with me complaining and the manager was just walking away constantly as low mannered person will do . My husband and I have been going here for years. Went there with our truck and a coupon for $59.95 for an oil change and tire rotation (free with oil change). Once we got there, my husband was told we it would be around $90 because the coupon doesn't include labor. What oil change coupon, from a business, can be done without an employee doing it?
