These guys are crooks and deceiving liars. Do not go here! I went in today to get a quote of brakes, they broke my window and claimed it just fell after shutting my door, then they added about ten other things to the quote, one of the things being my rear shocks leaking, and have the quote telling me it would be for the original same shocks that on our the truck, these guys do not even know their vehicles. He quoted me for the bottom of the line shock, knowing my truck comes standard with bilstein shocks. They would not listen to me when I said "no" put my vehicle back together and I am leaving. Continued on and on with ridiculous prices. Do not go here! They are scum of the scum. You can know that I will never come back. read more

I took my truck to get my brakes looked at to replace. The moment I walked in I had a bad feeling about this place. Sure enough, one of the techs, for some reason or personal issue, feels he needs to kick the bumper and goes on to throw his clipboard with a temper. I immediately requested I was taking my truck and to take it off the lift. My trust was gone; I don't want someone working on my truck if they can't treat people or vehicles with respect. This Brake masters store is the best! I've been taking my family's multiple vehicles here for service for many years. Much better service and pricing than dealerships. Just had a coolant leak diagnosed on older car and given several options on how to fix. Pros and cons of complete repair versus suitable safe work around described for me. No pressure, just great advice and options so I could make my best informed decision. Work was done on time and at great price! They told me about an hour the brake service would be done. It took 3 hours and 41 minutes to finish it. The pads that they sold me were not here; they had to go pick them up. When I went to ask why they told me it would take one hour, he said that he hasn't told me that, calling me a liar. Don't go somewhere they lie to you. Price was above average by the way. read more

This would be my second brake service with them. Both times they did a great job in a timely matter. Both times the guys were polite and answered all questions without being annoyed or trying to sell me something I didn't need. After the inspection of coarse they came back with some things my vehicle needed. To be expected, that's what they do. I am not a mechanic but i know the basics.The recommendations were legit. Although I passed on all and just had the brakes done cause that's all the budget would allow. I have been happy both times and those times were on two different vehicles about 5 years apart. This is the only place I feel 100% comfortable with taking my vehicle to. The manager, Greg Cardenas, remembers me and makes me feel welcomed each time. It doesn't appear as if they are just out for the money and they explain to me what exactly is wrong with my vehicle on a level that I can understand. I have been taking my vehicle to this location since 2017 when I moved to Arizona. They have been very willing to answer questions over the phone and provided quick and efficient service. I have been to other Brake Master locations due to the proximity to my work place, but the specific location on 55th Ave and Bell Rd is where I most frequent. I will hands down recommend this Brake Masters location to any and everyone. read more

To be upfront and fair, I never contacted the place again after my visit to address this issue. With that being said, I came here for a simple oil change and as soon as I left there was this awful grinding metal sound whenever I made a right hand turn. I spent another $30 and two trips to Pep Boys for them to figure out that my oil pan was bent....so basically just careless work in doing my oil change. I had the express coupon and they did the work about an hour before closing so maybe they were just super hurried? My oil level was good and everything was fine but I was still not happy. I've been going to this location for over 2 years and I love the service I always receive. However, today, the guy behind the desk was rude and condescending. He rolled his eyes at me when I answered his questions and just brushed me off. I didn't get a sticker to say how many miles I need my next oil change to and just everything was off. I'm going to be finding a new brake masters because if this is any indication of how things are going to be now on, I don't want to get scammed or treated like an idiot. read more

Kudos! Brakemasters on West Bell Rd saves the day again. I was so happy when I returned to find the location under new, and respectful manager Mark L. Mark and his assistant "floater" were extremely friendly and welcoming. I took my wifes Scion xB into their shop and informed them that I had almost been in a wreck the night before, as the brakes felt like they were going out. Come to find out the rear brakes had just started to wear metal to metal, AND my master cylinder had seen it's days. Granted auto repairs aren't cheap I was happy to know that they could fix the problem within a few hours. Not only did they fix our car, but they also offered some pizza while I waited. Thanks Mark L. and crew! I can now drive safely with my wife and daughter in the car once again. And Thank You Brake Masters for hiring good new people like Mark. Took my old Nissan in to get the alignment fixed as it was really out of whack. Was greeted by Mark L (new manager), and I must say it's a pleasure to finally have someone who is professional running this location once again. (The last guy wasn't fit for the position). Anyway, I had the car towed in as it was that far out of alignment, and Mark made sure the job was done to my satisfaction. He kept me updated, as with most auto repairs take time to fix, and made me feel at home. He also informed me that I had an oil leak that appeared to be coming out of transmission and he offered to check the fluid level, which was slightly low. So I had him do a fluid change on the transmission (since I already had the other 200K services done on it). Mark and his crew were great, even had a sense of humor (which is more than what I can say for the other nagging customer who wouldn't stop making BS complaints). Driving the car now and with the alignment and fluid change the car runs like new again. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for an honest place for fluid changes, repairs and all automotive needs. Thanks Mark L and the Brake Masters crew. Great guys here! I have been bringing my car here for a couple years now, and have had a great experience every time. They really go above and beyond and are very quick, even when you don't have an appointment. The only complaint I have is the bathrooms are not very clean! And there's no changing table for babies. Either way, it won't stop me from coming. They have even given me a courtesy rides a couple times to make my appointments more convenient. read more

They didn't know what came included in the price of a 90k service... but they didn't tell me that until I had already signed my life away and after they had my car hoisted into the air. I nearly ended up being charged $200 for an oil change until I encouraged the guy behind the counter to do some looking around to see what other places included in the 90k service. They also kept taking other customers with "just an oil change" in front of my car which they had already hoisted in the air. In the end, I waited fours hours for an oil change, tire rotation, and a fuel injector service. In the meantime I overheard employees complaining about the drop in business and I heard them refuse to match quotes even though their coupons say they match competitors coupons and quotes. They also tried to sell me new shocks and struts -- to the tune of $950. I balked at the thought since my car still has pretty low miles on it. I decided to wait on the service until I could have someone else take a look. The other shop I went too said the shocks and struts are fine. I then found a third shop who also agreed they were fine. Plus, the car is riding just find and gives me no indication that such parts are needed. I won't be going back. read more

Honest, Kind, Professional!!! I went to get a free brake inspection, thinking I needed to replace my front brakes. My brakes had been making an absurd noise, which led to concern. I was greeted by Ken and entertained by Jerry (Store Manager). I stayed in the shop using their FREE WI-FI... less than an hour into the visit, Ken comes to me with the best news possible... "You don't need new brakes," he explained the reason for noisy brakes and why my rotors looked "rigid." I will refer everyone to this Brake Masters!!! I also have to add, that there was another customer waiting and he said he takes he's family's vehicles there and has never had an issue of misdiagnosis nor over charged. He also mentioned that he was an engineer and knows what questions to ask and they give the correct answers every time. read more

Went here to get my oil changed and they were extremely rude from the minute I called to make an appointment, to the second I picked my car up. They had no people skills, no communication skills, AND when I went to pick my car up they tried to tell me I had all these things wrong with my car such as the tires needed to be renewed (Just got new tires less than a year ago), the shocks were cracked, and needed a new filter. I went to get a second opinion and it turns out NOTHING was wrong with my tires or my car. Sounds to me like they just wanted some more money!!! I will never go here again let alone recommend this place to anyone! read more

I brought my 2001 Ford Expedition to this shop and was absolutely AMAZED with the service I received. I dealt with the stores Manager- Jerry Baugh. He was not only extremely knowledgable, but also just as courteous and respectful to myself and my girlfriend. Having been to plenty of auto repair shops with staff that were very unpleasant and rude to deal with, I greatly appreciated his friendly customer service skills. He saved us more than $300 on parts and labor, other shops were far more expensive and didn't care to explain to me what exactly was wrong with my truck. This place is the epitome of "bait & switch". They quoted us $165 for an alignment, let us wait in the waiting room for close to an hour & also forfeit out appointment at another repair shop that had quoted us $265, then came back & said it would be $300, nearly DOUBLE the quote. They couldn't care less about the origin l quote & wouldn't even come down to the $265 we could've paid at the other shop. They said the best they could do is $295, a whole 5 dollars. Save it! There are repair shops all over. Go to ANY one of those before wasting your time here. read more

I was so blessed by the service and integrity of this location. The manager Jerry was thoughtful and knowledgeable when I called and further impressed me while I was in store. I got my front brakes replaced and left the store in a timely fashion and was sure that I was taken care of. I will 100% return to this location for years to come. Phenomenal service, best price and care. Free wifi and good A/C in the waiting area. Another gentleman (I believe the other manager) checked on me to see if I needed anything or the tv channel changed while they took my car on a test drive to confirm all was good with it. I needed an oil change and to replace spark plugs in my car on a Saturday. Went to a couple of other shops in the area but no one could get me in for the day. Went to Master Brakes which is right by where I workout. I walked in and was greeted by Jerry who said he'd get me in and out TODAY even if they had 20 cars. Went to the gym to kill time. Jerry called and said I needed a couple more plugs and they gave me a ride to get them! Even better, when I returned and waiting in the lobby, a lady had been in there for several hours and another repairman came in, acknowledged she had been waiting awhile, and offered to take her to get something to eat and offered to pay! This place definitely knows what customer service means aside from providing excellent repair services. Highly recommend! I will be back! read more

Service is downhill with new management. I've been coming here for several years and things have taken a turn. The new manager recommended several unnecessary services adding up to several hundred dollars. My car didn't need any of these services, so I was disappointed in the dishonesty. The manager also recommended an oil change every 5,000 miles. With synthetic oil, this is totally unnecessary, yet the manager used scare tactics, saying the oil in my car would turn to sludge! This is simply untrue. ... To make matters worse, one of the mechanics was obviously staring at my chest while I was talking to him about my car. He was inappropriate and gross. ... When I finally got my car after a very long wait, I immediately noticed a large black stain on my interior. This place is bad news. read more

Had "soft pedal" on '95 Geo Tracker, so I took it here to get the brakes checked. Have heard nothing but bad things about B.M., but it was close & I had a coupon, so thought I'd give it a try. They said my coupon was no good (of course - classic bait-and-switch tactic) & quoted me $1300 (!!) to fix my brakes and BROKE MY DOOR. When I said "thanks anyway" and left, I went to open my driver's side door, and it sagged (basically dropped) a few inches. the technician that worked on it put the jack UNDER THE DOOR instead of on the frame 4 inches away. Took it to my normal go-to shop (which is much further away - why I didn't go there to begin with), which fixed the brakes for just $250 and fixed my bent door frame for free. Lesson learned? If you find a good shop, stick with it regardless of any logistical problems. read more

Jerry the manager is a liar and a scam artist and so is his manager Chaz. I got my oil changed here and they checked my air filter too. Said it needed replacing so I wanted to do it myself. I drove 200 feet and my throttle became stuck for 10 seconds (not due to the pedal). I took it back right away and they said some air filter pieces could have fallen into a hole and caused that. I went on my way, 2 weeks later my car breaks down. A mechanic told me an air filter piece fell into that hole and melted onto a wire which finally gave out. That wire is hooked up to a sensor which i had to replace for $263. They won't take responsibility for their carelessness with my air filter and dropping those pieces into that hole. They did say they would have vacuumed it if i let them replace the filter....obviously they know it could have caused an issue but decided to do nothing. They should at least pay for the part i had to replace due to their carelessness. Don't ever go here!! read more
