I stayed at the Braeval Hotel on the strength of its bar/restaurant the Bandstand Bar, which was a recent finalist in the Scotland Pub of the Year award from CAMRA.
The check in process was quick and efficient, we had booked in advance for the three-person room (a single room and a joining double with a shared bathroom) and with CAMRA 10% discount it was £99 for bed and breakfast. Not bad at all given that the breakfast was lovely and consisted of a full cooked breakfast and unlimited cereal, fruit, juice and porridge. The rooms were a bit dated with a sink in the room too which was pretty random, but the views were excellent and the hotel nice and quiet.
Nairn itself is an interesting place, there's a mix of local pubs, wine bars and then this place which stands out for its excellent beer selection and friendly staff. read more
