Beautiful place to stay whilst visiting Inverness, highly recommended. Stunning building and location and first class service. Have stayed here in the past and just returned for a beautiful Afternoon Tea with the family. Can't rate it highly enough!

The highlight of our stay was the amazing staff. They remember your name, and were so helpful and accommodating. They weren't afraid to have a real conversation with you, which we found refreshing. AND we were upgraded to a suite because we were in Scotland for our honeymoon, and that was so nice of them! They didn't have to do that at all. Dinner service was excellent-- my husband and I had the guinea fowl. Breakfast before we departed was unforgettable. I recommend trying the fruit poached in Earl Grey, traditional parritch and Lossiemouth kipper. The portions are generous, and they bring out all the pastries and baked goods you can eat. The spring onion rolls at dinnertime were to die for. Our room was large and luxurious, decorated to match the age and history of the house. But keep in mind that Culloden is an old house, and as my husband described it, an old house has old "charms," and you appreciate it for what it is. Though the door frames were a wee sticky and the hot water may take a little longer to warm, you're paying to stay in a historical house. So let it take you back in time. I'll never forget that beautiful evening. It was unseasonably warm for June, and golden light streamed through our open windows. The sound of a lone bagpiper announced dinnertime below, and as I lazily sat by the window, with elbows propped on the sill and head cradled in my palms, listening, it felt like an official welcome to the Highlands.

I let the bar tender know that I enjoyed a specific Speyside whisky and he recommended a Balvenie that was tasty and comparable. We had a beautiful loch view from our room and I enjoyed waking up with the sunrise over the loch outside of our window. We caught the end of storm Amy and the week was pretty wet and chilly but the Bunchrew House Hotel also happily kept us warm! We'd been traveling for a couple of weeks so we had quite a bit of laundry to be done and the hotel also offers a laundry service and that worked out nicely as well. I would definitely recommend staying here and I would stay here again when we revisit Inverness.

Our room was a little warm the first night but upon letting the staff know, we were moved to a new room the next day. I do not remember the room name but it was a classic room as opposed to their superior rooms. The restaurant manager went out of his way to help us get to town when all the taxis were one hour wait times. The bartender made a phone call for us to get in to a busy bar we wanted to visit. We also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner here - all around a great place to stay made even better by the staff.

Unbelievable...but real B&B about 30 mins outside Inverness and 20 minutes from the airport…read more Just off the main road is an oasis of several acres of trees and gardens and a B&B. Beautiful large main building housing the restaurant, sitting room and perhaps guest rooms. Beyond that are cottages and our 4-room (all small) apartment called The Writer's Room. We walked from the main house through a beautiful English country garden to get there. Stunning, even in September w grasses, blooming plants and pebble paths. Just beyond that is an orchard of fruit trees..we picked an apple plus fresh apples and plums were in a bowl in our room. The four rooms included a small bathroom w shower (sorry, no bath), a large writers room that included a desk, two sitting chairs and a fireplace, and a small kitchen that led into the bedroom. Towels were plush and large. The space was cozy with beautiful wooden beams across each one of the rooms. And wait, for the best part. From our greeting at the front door to all of the servers at the restaurant, all of the hotel staff were young, sprightly and extremely personable. We did not pre-book our restaurant reservations, but we probably should have. The restaurant was definitely a destination restaurant. We had options of either two or three course à la cart menu or a 7-course surprise menu. We opted for the à la cart and it was truly wonderful. The plating and food were Michelin quality but at a slightly lesser price point. Our only disappointment was that we only booked this for night and that we had to depart at 6 AM for a very early flight. Next time we will stay for at least two nights. Kudos to management and the staff.

Cod main was perfectly cooked and excellent combination of flavors. Venison and wild mushroom main was outstanding. Cheese course definitely large enough to share for two, might actually work for three. Desserts perfect. Highly recommended.
