The room itself is cute, but the exterior is incredibly shabby, with broken asphalt throughout the parking lot and repainting of the exterior desperately needed. You know when you tell yourself that all hotel rooms are so boringly tasteful and generic: the white towels that smell like bleach, the flower artwork, the lobby with the sturdy industrial strength couches? Well this is the antithesis of generic, my friends. A metal cowboy boot lamp, a picture of Jesse James & Wyatt Earp, a western ghost town shower curtain, brownish mauve towels, headboards that your grandpa's head could have rested on. Kitch city. The room has everything you may need: mini fridge, microwave, comfy beds, air conditioning, hot water for showering. If you have little ones who are obsessed with trains, they will love it as the choo choos seem to run on the hour. At least I heard them at 3:30 am, 4:30 am, 5:30 am... Really fun place to spend a night or two while exploring Petrified Forest National Park. Or, a nice weekend exploring Holbrook. Clean rooms, friendly staff, fire pit patio and grill. I think they will be sold out tonight. My room was way under 100.00 The shower head and hot water were very good. Cons No upgrades in decades. This is how my father would have seen it. And I'm a grandfather. The train track is about 500 feet Away and they blow the horn. Lasts about 15 seconds. I m guessing hourly. Earplugs are provided at check in. Don't think I ll use them. Stopped in the evening after looking around town for a place to stay. Brad went above and beyond by giving us two rooms with one at half price since there were no double beds available, and waived the pet deposit. Both rooms were clean and very nice. My room had an awesome walk in shower. Overall this place had the cool historic vibe that I love. Will definitely stay here again. He also gave us great dinner recommendations and we had an awesome dinner a couple blocks away. read more

We stayed in Room 15 on 10/21/2023; $83.10 for the night. Since the property is on Route 66, it's also right next to the train tracks - we find train noise charming, but others apparently don't because there's a note on the mailbox that they can't control the trains. The room was adorable cinderblock with super cold air conditioning. The room actually had a working ceiling fan (first in all my travels), handheld shower head (YES!) and actual bathroom rug! We were thrilled to find a working ROKU! The beds were fantastic with soft homey bedding. All the linens, towels and rugs were residential finishes, as was the toilet seat. The room had coffee, microwave and a fridge. Loved it and will 100% stay again - which we are! BRAVO, Brad's - BRAVO. Grade A. read more

Avoid at all costs- motel 6 half the price and not a disgusting pit. Please do yourself a favor and avoid. Don't think I've ever been treated as rudely and unprofessionally in my life. Will elaborate when less upset. Room was very dirty and smelled like an air freshener factory. Presumably to cover something else up. After being told none of what I said was true and having an hour wasted and being told system was down so they couldn't charge me I was told I had to wait in the office for a refund. When I said that was unacceptable and there better not be a charge on my account the owners son came from the back yelled at me to get out and shoved me out the door. This place is a pit. You get there and there is a sign that says "please don't review us based on trains" I kinda have an issue with that because it is not disclosed anywhere prior to booking... And the trains drive by all night...and they are kinda loud. I noticed the city was a little sketch when I got there... It's cute, but then the hotel looks like kinda a bad area. We go to our first room. The key didn't work so we had to move to an upgraded flamingo room. It's adorable..cute decor... But we turned on the ac and it hummed all night long.. again actually pretty loud. The bed was ok, but there were stains on the comforter. Then I opened the counters to about 10 roach traps. We left to get food and a maintenance man was standing in the doorway of his room with a machete and no shirt on....just scary and unprofessional.... Again, looked sketch. Side note: after the man looked sketch I googled holbrook and later found out Holbrook is actually a huge crime area. So, we didn't feel safe here at all. The owner was super nice and came and talked to us about everything several times.... I hate to give a bad review, but I just want those that have high expectations to be prepared. Don't stay here if you want clean, or even historical.... I couldn't find anything on this property and it isn't in the middle of the route 66 feel, it's just a cute place... Actually some staffing changes this year as well I think. Honestly, no where in this city looks great so I guess if you have to stay here for the national park just don't have high expectations. I am bummed we didn't stay in another city. P.s. the breakfast.... The rooms were clean and had an awesome 66 Vibe. The young lady at the front desk is everything you'd want as a host: helpful and friendly. She made us feel welcome and really seemed to care. She also had a friendly shop pup who was adorable. While we were there the Oscar's Mayer Mobile stayed the night which our kids loved. Highly recommend! It will be our stay to place when we are in Holbrook. By the way DO NOT stay at the Route 66 Motel in Holbrook.....it is the opposite in every way to Brad's! read more

I want to preface this with the motel is five stars for what it is, which is a completely different genre than a modern motel. It's an older place with a very thick coat of paint on it. Also, it is not a chain, so linens and towels are more like what you have at home. However, it's clean, it's reasonably priced, it's close to Petrified National Forest, and if you're friendly the entire staff will hang out with you for a bit. We chatted with the maintenance guy and his girlfriend for awhile and then hung out with the owner for a bit at night. Everyone was very nice. If you are traveling during COVID, I think this old style of motel is the safest because it is easy to restrict the lobby to one at a time and there are no other shared community spaces indoors. Brad's is exactly as advertised, an old school motor court on Route 66. My room was clean and well decorated, although a tad spartan (but again, this is an old school place and not the Ritz). The staff, well, mother of the owners, was friendly and accommodating. Plus, they make an individualized breakfast for guests in the morning. The location was right on old Route 66 and within walking distance to highly rated local (not chain) restaurants as well the historical museum (worth a visit). So why not 5 stars? Unfortunately, Brad's, like all the motels on this portion of Route 66, is located about a block from the freight rail tracks, and those trains run all night. Ear plugs are complimentary but the train noise can be a bit much. Overall a good stay and I would reserve a room again, especially if I wanted to experience old school Route 66. read more

I pleasantly surprised. The area is so depressed that you don't expect to find a nice place to stay overnight, but this place is very nice. Our room was clearly remodeled and it's a good bargain and includes breakfast. They don't have carpet in the rooms so you don't feel like you're walking on nasty hidden germs. It made me wonder why other hotels don't ditch the carpet. The guy in the office is really nice. He gave us a good recommendation for a restaurant within walking distance and he even gave us a pitcher of half & half for our evening coffee. read more

I would give this place 5 for a motel. Obviously this is not an all inclusive five star resort but for a motel it's in the top, as I've stayed at a variety of resorts/hotels/motels to provide a true honest rating. Customer service far exceeded my expectations from BEGINNING of my check in till the end. The property contacted me prior to ask what time I was checking in and my reservation change on hotels.com didn't update properly to postpone a day and they were happy to change it. Easy communication with text message, and offering a call back number if necessary. Property kept clear and polite communication with me throughout my day and I was going to be checking in very late (after 2 A.M.). I was given instructions for a lock box my key would be in and a contact and number if I had any issues. Property vibe is unique and corkey, unlike any other property I passed by in the town of Holbrook. Came into a super comfortable and clean, original decorative room, with the heat turned on (it was cold outside), microwave and fridge, and a shower with great water pressure and temperature. Ended my night with a comfortable bed. Extra perks of this motel is that they have Netflix available as well as it's super close to Petrified Forest read more

With the knowledge and understanding that we were staying in Holbrook, we weren't expecting much. However, this place is a little gem. We arrived late (after calling ahead to ensure this wouldn't be a problem) to find the manager waiting for us. We were in a rented full-sized truck, towing a long flatbed trailer and there really wasn't anywhere to park (that we felt safe in leaving it), so she had us pull into the small parking lot, taking up quite a few spaces, assuring us the entire time that it wouldn't be a problem. The manager was incredibly sweet, extremely helpful and went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. The bed was comfortable (even according to my husband, who's had multiple back surgeries) and the room was clean. read more

Betty Davis said it succinctly. "What a dump." Im OK that the place is old. I'm not OK that it was ragged, dirty, and smelled dank and moldy. I didn't like the hair in tbe bathtub or the burned red hair in the antique hair dryer. What can I say positive? They graciously let us leave early and refunded two nights. read more

Kimberly was so kind and we got the chance to meet some of her family and friends while we stayed- they were not intrusive but made us feel really special ! Having an "in" to the locale is always a plus and to make new friends with great people is always a pleasure ! We had a great room, good breakfast made with care and great insight on the area. Have a blast exploring the Painted Desert and keep in mind the guide to "where to eat " she provides is excellent - we really loved Romo's Tex-Mex as we were there (feasted 2 of the days we stayed) to fully explore the area. Don't come here looking for an upscale chain hotel. This is Route 66 country, and places like this are what makes the journey memorable. We spent two nights here while we explored Canyon de Chelly and the Petrified Forest. I can't say enough nice things about Kimberly. She greeted us upon our late arrival, cooked us a hot breakfast and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. She had lots of tips about the area (we never would have known about the Bucket of Blood Saloon without her). Our room was pleasant enough, with decent heat for the very chilly nights. The heater fan drown out much of the outside noise from frequently passing trains and trucks. There were earplugs provided too but we didn't need them. Overall a fine place to stay and much more interesting than one of the more modern places off of the freeway. read more

What a sweet find on Route 66 in Holbrook. Starting with the front desk person Kimberly who was very sweet and informative about the history of the motel and suggestions where to eat dinner. The room was clean and had so much character. It reminded us so much of the 50 and 60's motels. The new owner Peter has done a great job of restoring the classic motel. Over heard British guests as they were checking out say "this has been the most unique". Regarding the railroad tracks, while we were provided ear protection to help our sleep, we found them unnecessary. The complementary breakfast was in a quaint little dining room served by a pleasant gentleman. We will return. read more

It's old but well maintained and very clean. Holbrook is kind of iffy as are all the towns along the old 66 I-40. Brads is newly remodeled, safe. the folks are friendly, the rooms clean definitely something out of another time. The down side is that the railroad is less than a block away and the trains run all night (moving the commerce of the country) but that did not bother me. We stayed there because we wanted to visit Petrified Forest National Park. Unfortunately other than that I see no reason to be there. read more

We were driving across the country to wade out the pandemic with family in Cali, and found this little gem on yelp. The exterior has all of the charm you would desire from a Route 66 motel, and the inside greatly exceeded our expectations. Our room was extremely clean, spacious, comfortable, and chic. The bathroom was recently renovated, and done so well. The mattress and linens were top notch, and the trains did not disturb our sleep. We will surely stay again on our way back East. I highly recommend this place! I've had a more positive experience here than at most 5 star hotels, for a fraction of the price. read more

Stayed last Thursday evening arriving late (11pm) .... had called ahead and let Kimberly know we would be late. Kimberly had our key in the mailbox as well as our agreed upon scheduled breakfast time on the envelope the key was in so we didn't forget. Room was clean and neat, very much what we expected on our Rt 66 journey and was a good bargain, considering we were only going to need a room for about 9 hours before we were back on the road. Kimberly was extremely accommodating at breakfast as I have severe gluten and dairy allergies and she made sure I had something to eat by going into her personal stash of food to cook scrambled eggs for me that did not have milk mixed in. I felt that was a true "customer first" action and one that will make me willing to stay there again. read more

I was traveling to Albuquerque from las vegas nevada, which I've done many times to my parents house. The roads where very icy and bad so i stopped in Holbrook Arizona and like i always do i look at Yelp to find a cool little hotel and if its good ! I saw this place it looked cool and then read the reviews. I was kinda impressed so i said ok lets do it. I was very glad I started there. The host of the place was very friendly and informative about everything . I liked how accommodating she was. The hotel room was old like the place said but i loved that. I had so much character and history to the motel and the room as well. A big difference from the usual hotels i stay in. I love the character of this place and will come and stay here again. There was even fresh homemade breakfast in the morning which was delicious. Not the normal boring breakfast either. So if you want a cool little cozy place to stay with good breakfast then stay here.
