The a/c was loud and the walls are very thin here. Doesn't anybody close their door gently anymore? The breakfast was adequate and the little mini muffins were terrific. There aren't a lot of choices here, this might be at the too of the list.

I smiled and said hi to her and she looks at me with an angry expression and says "oh.... hi". My mom asked her for a receipt and said she didn't see the charge I made the night before when I charged a toothbrush to the room. The woman acted like I didn't pay for it and made it sound like I straight up stole! She went on and on saying you had to pay right there and I described the man who worked the night before and she just stared at me blankly. I even mentioned charging the room and she was incredibly rude. She even said "well, i didn't look at the receipt", ok? So why are you saying I didn't pay for the toothbrush? The receipt even had the room charge on it! She was being adversarial and rude for no reason.

Also there are a few kinds of cold cereal and thats it. Oh wait some mornings they have yogurt. No fresh fruit. No pancakes like the sign out front says. No bacon or sausage or biscuits and gravy. The juice dispenser is broken and they don't seem to care. I'd give the breakfast 1 star. If you like to watch a little television before bed forget about it. There are only about 12 channels. The website and info in the room says there are more but they have canceled that service I am told. Guess I'll read a book. I have to come to holbrook for work about once a month. I won't be staying here again.

The morning breakfast was exceptional and in a nice sitting area. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and some yummy tots were excellent but they also had yogurts, breads, danishes, and cereal. Oh- and great coffee! Not a complaint but an FYI. Keep in mind there is no elevator here so if you get a second floor room, pack light or take a couple trips (no big deal really).

You know when you tell yourself that all hotel rooms are so boringly tasteful and generic: the…read morewhite towels that smell like bleach, the flower artwork, the lobby with the sturdy industrial strength couches? Well this is the antithesis of generic, my friends. A metal cowboy boot lamp, a picture of Jesse James & Wyatt Earp, a western ghost town shower curtain, brownish mauve towels, headboards that your grandpa's head could have rested on. Kitch city. The room has everything you may need: mini fridge, microwave, comfy beds, air conditioning, hot water for showering. If you have little ones who are obsessed with trains, they will love it as the choo choos seem to run on the hour. At least I heard them at 3:30 am, 4:30 am, 5:30 am... (Which cost them a point in my book.) But if you are sick of boring generic, give a family owned place a try!

Probably could do with a refresh. But I'm being picky. It was roomy (for a hotel room) and a quiet stay. You could sign in to Netflix on the TV or just watch normal broadcast stations. Your typical amenities - mini fridge, microwave, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Good working A/C. We stayed in room 201. They also had a great free breakfast. Eggs, bacon, bread products, fruit, coffee, juice, waffle/pancake mix, lots of things to choose from. All kept warm and fresh at this location. There are NO elevators here, so if you're on the 2nd floor, be prepared to drag your suitcases up stairs. This is becoming an issue for my knees now which I found out during this trip. I used points to get a discount on the room rate - its on par with what everyone else in the area is charging. The front desk was welcoming and informative. He even gave us a coupon for a free half pound of petrified wood from a local souvenir shop. (It's smaller than you think - when the wood petrifies is gets HEAVY. 1/2 pound will be a small piece that fits in the palm of your hand.) To be more precise, it is next to the laundry room which you hear all day and then starts up again at 4:15 a.m. If you want quiet - this is not the place: in addition to the laundry issue, it sounded like they were bowling in the room above us. If you need a good breakfast - this is not the place. Waffles, toast and cereal. If you like a firm to medium firm mattress - this is not the place. The bed was very soft. To add insult to injury, they charged us $10 for checking in early - what difference does it make to them if the room is ready? Overall: total disappointment, highly recommend staying elsewhere.

It's like visiting your grandma's house--if your grandma hasn't updated anything since 1978 and also forgot to deep clean. But hey, it wasn't terrible. Just... vintage. It's a decent stop for a quick road trip break when all other hotels are booked and you're too tired to care anymore. We rolled in around 11 p.m. and discovered the bathroom was, shall we say, cozy. Toilet and shower? They worked. That's the most glowing praise I can give that area. There's a mini fridge and a microwave straight out of the 90s. It was so retro, I half expected it to have a VHS player built in. Now, the floors. Oh, the floors. They've definitely been cleaned--just not in the last century. My feet were black after walking around for 5 minutes. I'm talking "I just ran a marathon barefoot on a construction site" black. Stains? Oh yeah. From what I can only assume were the ghosts of pets past. You'll want to pack sandals, socks, or a hovercraft to get around safely. The parking lot around the back? A little dark and sketchy, but that's just the ambiance. Adds to the "adventure." Breakfast? Not bad! Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs... the usual suspects. Nothing Michelin star, but it gets the job done. Coffee was decent enough to kick-start your soul at 7 a.m and it's free. Now, the pool. Oh, sweet summer child. The pool doesn't open until 3 p.m., which is the most ridiculous rule I've ever heard. We were all set for a morning dip to soak these tired road-tripping bones, only to find out we'd have to wait until mid-afternoon. What in the actual nonsense is that? Would I stay here again? Meh, I might try something else next time. But if you're tired, on a budget, and just need a place to crash, it's not the worst option. Just don't forget your sandals and sense of humor!
