Really impressed with the Quality Inn Holbrook. It's the kind of place that's perfect to rest your head for a night or two while visiting Petrified Forest. It's only about 20 minutes to the park entrance, so a very convenient location. Their front desk staff are very nice as are the staff setting up and maintaining the breakfast area, The property is a typical interstate motel with bare bones rooms. While it seems to be an older property the room I was in was very well kept, clean and had a comfy bed. The complimentary breakfast was fine-no complaints. I stuck to toast and English muffins with their pre-made egg patty. I also grabbed some mini yogurts for the road. Since I arrived really late the first night, was out in the park all the next day and needed a comfy quiet place to sleep the next night, this fit the bill just great. I wasn't needing to hang out in the room and had very basic needs. It was also very affordable and well worth their cost per night. Recommend for a night or two at most if you're passing through. read more

Great value, great location, wallet-friendly, and perfect for our needs! We were on a road trip with our two dogs, and we stayed in one of the dog-friendly rooms. It was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The hot breakfast was really top notch--eggs and sausage, hash browns, a waffle station, various muffins and breads, with juice and hot coffee. On July 15, 2023 After a long day all I wanted was to relax & enjoy my stay. The clerk was polite and professional. However, upon arriving into my room I noticed real quickly that there was a roach running the bed and another dead one by the pillow, I seen more in the bathroom and in the tub. The clerk did everything to make it right but when I was transferred to another room I continue my inspection. In which, more dead insects behind bed head board, underneath the AC unit. Overall not a bad place to stay. Parking area was decently lit. All the rooms face the outside. The fact that my door had three locking/safety mechanisms made me a little concerned about the area though (single female traveling). It is great that I had them but made me wonder why the need for more than the standard. I noticed two doors on my floor with the deadbolt/security mechanism in such a place so the doors couldn't be closed (at 11 pm at night). The doors were still like that at 6 am. My room was clean. When I first entered I noticed that all the pillows were on the chair but they had new pillow cases and I suspect the cleaning crew had just forgotten to put them back on the bed. Kleenex box was empty. Breakfast was ok. Food was not individually wrapped like it has been at other Choice hotels during Covid and waffle maker was broken. They are bunch of con artists. I had a confirmed reservation for a 2 queen nonsmoking room on Saturday, during the Memorial Day Weekend. I arrive at the property and they told me that I requested a King Bed Pet room and that no other room was available. They wanted me to cancel my reservation so they can sell it to the next person for double my price. read more

I went against my better judgement and decided to stay here. The experience was horrendous to say the least. It took 20 minutes for the clerk to fix their systems to figure out how to check us in. Upon entering the room, I try to sit down and the entire arm falls off. I decided to end the day and start the day tomorrow. I woke up and checked out. Two days later I see a charge of $300 because they said I broke the chair and dented a refrigerator. This place is a SCAM! I called and Vic Gundum, kept talking over me as I explained and asked me what I wanted. we stayed at this motel June 26, 20022. Checked in and got a call from the front office that a black pick up had hit our car. We went outside and sure enough there was a hole next to the front left light of our car and the black pick up was parked next to it and driver was in the truck. I went in the office and asked the guy at the desk if he called and he responded yes and that was the guy and truck ... he had just checked in. He said it was on the security tape. After many times trying to get in touch with the manager from our insurance company and us... This Quality Inn is a gem off of Route 66 in Holbrook, Arizona. We picked this little roadside hotel based upon its proximity to the Petrified Forest National Park. We were pleasantly surprised to find a quiet, clean and comfortable establishment that was VERY modestly priced and ideally located next door to a fantastic restaurant. Friendly staff and cozy beds are awesome. read more

I would never stay here again. The 1st room they gave us, the keys didn't work, one bed was unmade, a used washcloth was on the counter. They gave us a 2nd room, the TV didn't work and there was a big hole in the ceiling in the bathroom exposing wires. read more

An actual roach motel. Checked in at 10:45pm went back to desk at 10:49pm and asked for a refund as there were DOZENS of visible cockroaches not just in corridor but 2 inside room 125. This is a very clean hotel in Holbrook, Arizona. It is half way between Phoenix and Albuquerque. Makes it easy to travel. The rooms are very clean, neat, and tidy. We checked in late on a Friday night and had to wait for the front desk person, but that was okay. We rand the doorbell and soon she appeared. She welcomed us and told us all the pertinent information. We went to bed without any issues. We stayed 2 nights, since it is now out stop for the night when going between the two cities. The second night we got in late again. Did not get to experience much of the hotel. The beds are okay and the pillows could be firmer, but it was good enough. I asked the lady about the pet fees. She stated that it was $25! I am thinking next time our pup will join us. It costs more than that for the baby sitter. I will write a review after we all stay there. Breakfast is the usual. Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. We did not eat breakfast. I did try to get a banana, but it was limited to apples and oranges. People were happy making waffles and eating so everything must have been good. Good value. Staff friendly and helpful. Hopefully the next trip will be a little less rushed. read more

The front desk staff was fantastic. It's too bad the rest of the stay didn't match them. First, one of our parties was given a room that reeked of cat pee. A fan was in the room trying to dry it. They were then moved to a room that had no sheets on the bed and had not been cleaned. Another member had a rundown room that needed work. The ironing board and iron were filthy, the bathtub had broken pieces sitting on the edge, and the walls had several dark, dirty spots. The "breakfast" was cold cereal, a waffle maker and juice, no bread for toast, fruit, or other hot items. I will not return. read more

We checked into room 216 and it was filthy. Crumbs on all surfaces and the bar of soap at the sink was opened (the packaging pushed to the side) and the soap was more than halfway used up and there was a pile of hand towels crumpled up on the sink as if someone had just been there. So we got switched to room 211. 211 was even worse. The walls and doors were filthy and the room had an awful stench. The side of the bathtub nearest to the toilet had what looked like poop splatter all over it and there were drops of brown liquid on the bathroom floor. Not only is this disgusting, it's a health hazard and I'll be reporting to the health dept as well. We left the property and we're told that the manager Vic would handle our refund in the morning and that there would be no problems. The next day I called the property and vic was unavailable so I told the girl at the desk what I was calling for and she said Vic would take care of it. By the next day there was still no reversal so I called and Vic answered the phone. He was rude and incompetent from the beginning. I was spelling out my last name for him using "b like boy" etc to make sure the spelling was correct. He told me not to do tht. Then he proceeded to get every letter of my name wrong multiple times. By the end he said he would have to make sure no one has stayed in the room since we left to determine if we get a refund which is total BS so we went through corporate instead they called Vic and then assured us our refund has been started. But instead, Vic charged us two additional times. So now instead of one night charge we had three nights charged in a disgusting establishment where we did t even stay a single night. This was obviously not an accident based on his arrogant attitude from the start and I will also be contacting the BBB regarding VIC Specifically. read more

These people totally disgust me. As a member of Choice Privileges (Choice Hotels), member #GXI45020, I have stayed at numerous Quality Inns. I have enjoyed each experience bar this one. When I arrived at the hotel I had booked 2 rooms with one room being a pet friendly room. John, the desk clerk, advised me even though they state they are pet friendly they do not accept cats. Well what can I do? No answer. Will I being staying, he asked. No I said, I can't. I booked in the Howard Johnson next door. Imagine my dismay when I received my credit card bill to find they charged me for both rooms. At no time did John advise me that they would charge me for the rooms. Not only are these people not pet friendly they are also not guest friendly. BEWARE! read more

clean but very old and needs updating badly. the carpet appeared to be the original carpet form when the hotel was built ( maybe the 80's?) we didn't dare walk barefoot. shower curtain was so old it was falling apart. internet didn't work. We were told it was because of the weather. It was around 25° and had snowed a little light dusting earlier. Last time I checked, 25° doesn't knock out internet. when we tried to get ice, the ice machine had leaked and the entire floor was frozen, nobody cared to post a sign or fix it. we arrived for breakfast at 8:30 and it was all but gone, and there was pretty much only bread for toast and cereal left. no fresh fruit and horrible coffee. wouldn't recommend this place at all. maids were friendly, that's the only thing good can say about this place. read more

There are no shortage of motels in this town and the last time I was here, May '14, I felt a change would be good so I lucked out selecting this property. Ashley checked us in, very pleasant personality, gave us door access help, remove key slowly, posted our letter, suggested a great dining location, Mesa Italian, and found some late nite tea for me. We were towing a horse trailer and you can drive completely around the building how convenient. This property looks great from the street but it is not new. It is well maintained. The rooms are well pointed with a coffee pot, microwave and a fridge. Breakfast in the AM is the finishing touch. read more

The staff of the hotel was very nice. The room was not so nice. It appeared clean on the surface but then we discovered bed bugs, but not until the morning. We woke up with bugs in our bed and blood from being bit. They hotel was very nice about it and refunded our stay but now a week later we are dealing with bites all over my family which includes two kids. Will not be staying there again. read more

This place advertises "pet friendly" everywhere on their website, but be aware THEY DO NOT TAKE CATS. Only dogs. They should have to advertise it that way. I'm currently moving from CA back to WV, otherwise my cat would never be on a trip with me. But sometimes it can't be avoided and to find out at the end of a 400 Mile drive that you have to now find another motel is a bit much. read more

We ended up at this Choice Hotel because there was on Comfort Inn in town. We found out that this property used to be a Comfort Inn and it sure felt like it. The room was lovely, including a larger refrigerator which we used and nice sheets and towels. Breakfast was great and well maintained. Only complaint, wish they had the pillows that Comfort Inn/Suites uses. These were too big and over stuffed. read more

I travel often with pets, and my trip in april was no different. I have always had well behaved and house trained pets and have never had a problem. First I was pretty surprised that I had to sign a paper saying i would not do anything illegal, and then, after paying a pet fee, signed a paper that said I would pay if my pets left damage. I said then, "oh they will stay in their crate." I was told our room was on 2nd floor, #256, so I asked for a lower level. I was then given #126 at the end of the building. I pulled up next to the walkway and was able to easily unload our crate (1.5'x3') When i got in my room, even though it was late in the day, still smelled strongly of the perfume-like odor cover-up that is seemingly used in some hotels that are older with carpets. I left the door open to air the room out before I closed up and went to bed. The room was ok, the beds ok. We had an ok typical Quality Inn breakfast the next morning, showered, packed the van and left. During the drive to Denver, i was left a message by Erica, the manager. In that message she told me the housekeeper told her when she went to clean, there was a strong odor so she went and looked with a black light. There was a lot of places that showed up on the black light and poop behind the door. She then said she charged me $200 for this. When I returned her call, she was not available. I left a message that my pets were always in their crate and did not do any thing in the room. When Erica returned my call, she did not want to talk about the black light "evidence" or the poop behind the door. She said they were worried about the smell. I repeated that my pets were not out in the room, and I brought up that the room already had a strong odor to cover up smells. We did not leave a room with poop or urine. It did not happen from my pets, because if it had, I would clean it up and tell you what happened. After many years of travel with pets, I have never had someone accuse me of something like this. I feel very suspicious of the unwillingness to address the poop and blacklight accusation. I think someone at this hotel is lying. I often drive through this area. I will find another hotel next time. I was so upset and offended by this accusation and charge, that I actually cancelled all my Quality Inn reservations for the rest of my trip. I will never stay there again. I have provided and managed pet friendly vacation properties since 1995. I would never do such a thing to any property that provides room for our pets. I resent this experience completely Edited! That comment by hotel about my statement being a lie is utter BS. Poop behind the door? Their lie. Urine on the floor, not from our cats. Our pets stayed in their crate, along with their food water and litter box the entire time we were traveling. That is why it was a big crate. You can say anything you want, at this point, I think you and your staff are full of hot air. I am not a liar. Again, never will I stop at a Quality Inn. Once we arrived in Denver, our pets stayed out of their crate and their behavior, as usual, did not include a complaint from the hotel. We also did not get a complaint from other hotels we stayed in along the way. Your room smelled bad before I got there, dark and run down, it was a pet room with carpet in a cheap run down hotel. Perhaps your non-pet rooms are nice, but this one was just a room that we spent 12 hours in, mostly sleeping, and we had to air it out first. I am NOT a liar. read more

Bedding and pillows were fresh and clean, furniture was new and attractive, bathroom fixtures were clean and new, fridge and microwave were in room and free wifi. The best hotel on this boulevard! Both young ladies at front desk were wonderful, hospitable, and professional. The room was clean, updated, and comfortable. I really liked that it had a comfortable chair with ottoman to sit! That is rare and for me a huge plus. Microwave, coffee, and a refrigerator. I highly recommend! I drove to three hotels to check rates and this one was best rate and nicest of all three! I didn't have the breakfast but it is included. read more

If you have pets do not stay here. My husband and I often travel with our dog and have NEVER had any issues with hotel stays in the least. It was late at night when we checked in and were asked to sign a document stating that if our pet damaged the room in any way we would be charged $200. I thought it was strange but also believed we had nothing to be concerned about. Sure enough the next day while we were on the road a phone call came from the hotel stating that the housekeeper had found urine and feces in the room and we would be charged the $200 fee. This did not happen. At first I gave the manager the benefit of the doubt...maybe they had the wrong room? But they were adamant about charging the $200 fee. I am livid. We have never encountered any trouble like this before or since. We have had good experiences at other Quality Inns elsewhere even after visiting this one but we will assuredly not be back here under any circumstances and I hope others steer clear. read more

We found our room to be very clean and comfortable with both a microwave and fridge. The people at the desk were friendly and check in was quick. We stayed with our dog and found that despite not having grass on the property, there were several gravel areas for us to take her out. The pool area was all closed up but we weren't planning on swimming so that was fine with us. Overall a good place to get a quiet night of rest. read more
