Old town line sign near enterance

Scenic, well maintained, well marked, and tranquil. My husband decided to try the trails across the way at Willowdale since there was no open mountain bike trails near our Maine home. I started on his trails and was soon side tracked when I crossed the street to take a quick look around. Various types of trails (old tar, crushed gravel, wooded) kept me wanting to see what was around the corner. An hour and a half later I finally pulled myself away from their well marked trails. I really enjoyed the beauty of the walking bridge and the large field nestled in the quiet woods. The trails were well marked to let you know what number trail you were about to embark on. I also happened upon two men that were finishing up some trail maintenance. I was just in time they said, any earlier and I would have been climbing over a dead tree. Good to know they have frequent help keeping the trails clear and safe. I would gladly join my husband for another day adventure on this trail!

“The main area has a wading pool for the kids, bathrooms (and they were clean!), picnic tables and I believe a few grills.”

This is such a lovely park! I went with my son and some friends, kids ranged from 14 months to 2…read more1/2. The littlest one had a bit of trouble getting around as all the surfaces of the actual playground are steps and a little tall, but the two year olds had a blast! This is a wooden "castle style" playground similar to Action Cove in West Newbury or Field of Dreams in Salem NH, but this one is by far my favorite. The entire park is enclosed with a fence which is especially helpful because the castle part is kind of like a maze. It's very clean (though I didn't see a trash barrel which would be helpful.) And best of all they have painted things really cool. One section has a big wavy slide set as a dragons tongue and the head of the dragon is a huge mural painted on the outer wall. They also have a farm section with a play tractor and a sandbox connected to a silo that allows kids access to the sandbox. There are about a half dozen slides and swings, and a nice section to sit and have a snack. The only pitfall is that this park is not handicap accessible at all. They have a ramp at the main entrance and tables you could put a wheel chair up to, but the rest of the park would be impossible to navigate and the area near the tables wouldn't be accessible to a wheel chair either.

One of the coolest parks I've brought my son too .. definitely worth a trip there! So happy we…read moremoved closer so we can frequent it more
