The neurosurgeon who was on call did not want to take the case, but by God's grace Dr. Bowen Jiang happened to be at the hospital and agreed to treat me. He immediately met with me and my family and explained that emergency surgery was necessary. He was honest and compassionate--he would not guarantee an outcome and warned that there was a possibility I might never walk again. After the surgery, I spent three days in the ICU and then two weeks at St. Jude Hospital before finally being able to return home. Dr. Jiang told me recovery could take up to a full year before I could return to my normal routine. Thanks to Dr. Jiang's extraordinary skill and care, my recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. Three months later I was swinging a golf club. She also took the time to patiently explain my MRI images to me and walked me through several treatment options--what to try first, and what the next steps would be if those didn't work. Her approach slowly eased my high anxiety and helped me feel more at peace, giving me a clear idea of what to do next in my treatment. I feel so lucky to have met Dr. Shirin. She even shared her own experience with a similar condition, which gave me confidence that I can recover as well. She provided a lot of emotional support and truly gave me peace of mind. I saw a neurosurgeon and an orthopedic surgeon and both said I need to have surgery. If I absolutely needed to have surgery to live I would do it but I am big on finding holistic care for my medical needs. Btw I'm 38 years old. Acupuncture WORKS. Jenny my acupuncturist is hands down the best in class there is. She makes you feel very comfortable and knows exactly where and how many needles to use. My pain level went from a 10 to a 4 currently and I'm able to go most days with no ibuprofen. I only take one a night to help me sleep. I would be a complete mess if I hadn't started coming here back in May. (Thanks to my husband) I literally can't feel them when they go in or out. There may be one or two that might me a little more tender but when you're in constant pain you don't even care at that point you just want the therapy. I go once a week and I never miss. The lobby is big and has places to sit and rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The front office staff and medical assistant are excellent- Beth and Victoria.

When I first started seeing her she would only bring in 1/4 of the medication that needed to be administered. When I said something I could tell she was annoyed. I had to repeatedly advocate for myself just to get the medication that I had been getting previously. My Botox is paid for and then sent from the pharmacy directly to their office. It is all to be administered for me. Nothing should be left over or saved for any other patient as it is my prescription. It was really weird the way she would come in and either not bring in all the medication or she would hide it under a paper. I also noticed they did not change the paper on the counter in between patients that the medication was placed on. You could see that it was visibly wet and soiled. This is very unhygienic and could spread disease and bacteria since they are doing medical procedures. On one occasion I noticed she was injecting much higher than I had had in the past and I asked about it. She got visibly upset and jammed her finger into my forehead and said this is where it's supposed to go. I told her that hurt and it was not ok to do that to me. She brushed it off. I just really wanted to get out of there. The next appointment I brought someone with me and they said that at one point she went to inject me but there was nothing left in the syringe, so she was just pretending to administer the Botox. My most recent appointment I brought somebody again and the staff said it's her new policy to not allow anyone in with patients. I said I was more comfortable with someone there. They led us to the room and shortly after Diana came in already visibly angry saying that the person I brought needs to get out. I said I want a chaperone in with me and would be ok if it was a staff member. She became even more angry and said this is a procedure and I can't have anyone in there with me. At that point she refused to administer my medication. There are many other reviews about her that talk about her rudeness and so on. They are on point. I hope Dr Florin is able to get someone else in his office. This woman is ruining his practice. It's very unfortunate. Diana London also works at Desert Neurology & Sleep.
