Besides the beautiful view here, the most exciting thing for me was seeing a seal swam right up to the rocks. That deserved a 5-star! It was totally unexpected. I could see the seal bobbing in the distance. Despite this area being a sanctuary for the marine wildlife, it is a busy area with ferry going back and off, and boats sailing in the area. Add the constant train noise. It is not a quiet peaceful place. So I was just taking pictures and videos. Then I looked down at the rocks where the water was pretty clear and saw this seal swimming past. I managed to take a video. So cool. This place is also popular with divers. That means parking lot is always full. Your best best is to park a few blocks away and walk over.

Watching the sunset

Brackett's Landing is a nice beach park in Edmonds. We often come here to watch the sunset when we're in Edmonds, as this is one of the best places for doing so around town. You won't regret it. You can walk along the entire beach, which is about five miles, so is easy to do. Brackett's Landing is usually pretty busy, since it's located near downtown Edmonds and the ferry. There is a parking lot nearby, but street parking is easy to find in downtown Edmonds. There are also several different restaurants nearby. I think what's cool about this spot is that there's an area here for scuba diving. I don't have enough guts to scuba dive, but love that Brackett's Landing makes it possible for those divers to chill here. Oftentimes children are wading in the water, right off of the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, so must stay on the walkway. Like I mentioned, I usually come here with bae to watch the sunset if we're in Edmonds at just the right time. Many come to Brackett's Landing for leisure and play or different reasons, but it's no surprise there's always a crowd around sunset.

Bracket's Landing encompasses the area immediately adjacent to the Edmonds Ferry Dock. On the map, it's identified as BL North and BL South. Both directions have its charms. For this walk on a wintry day, we opted for a southerly walk, which takes you through a small green area, a sizable beach area, pass some commercial buildings and businesses, and more. We opted to continue onwards through the length of the Public Fishing Pier, which gives a wide westbound view as well as a view of the Port of Edmonds and its many, many boats. Even though it was a chilly day, we thoroughly enjoyed this walk with its charming views throughout. See photos for examples of public art featuring children, "Locals", sea critters, salmon weathervanes on the breakwater, and a friendship pole with the city of Hekinan, Japan. There was also a gentleman who made giant bubbles to the delight of many children. If you're visiting Edmonds for shopping and food, be sure to save some time to have a walk to work off those calories. ;)

Sun, sand and views of the mountains.

This has always been one of our favorite places to watch sunsets while taking a leisurely stroll on the beach. Parking is definitely a challenge especially during the summer season. I recommend parking around the neighborhoods and walking down to the beach. There are paved walkways for anyone avoiding the sand. There are also benches and logs to sit on however I recommend bringing a beach towel, lay out on the sand and watch the clouds go by. Beware of the passing locomotives. The sudden train horns blasts are enough to snap anyone out of their blissful moment. There are numerous restaurants and even a couple of ice cream shops within the vicinity of the park. Downtown Edmonds is only a few blocks away. During the warm summer nights, I like to stop by one of the ice cream shops for a sundae and head over to the landing to enjoy the treat while sitting on the sand. From past experience, the best times for some picturesque golden sunsets are from late spring to late early fall. The Olympic mountain ranges forms a wonderful backdrop. The passing ferries adds a uniquely Pacific Northwest feel to the views.

Great place for divers - jump in point for Edmonds Underwater Park Large bathroom with changing area and outdoor fresh water showers Cons - noisy trains every 30 mins, some vagrancy, people hog up parking spots waiting to pickup ferry walkons.

Brackett's Landing is a good, nice surprise for me. My friends and I checked this place out in a rare occasion we were in Edmonds for another event. I would actually know about this place if we didn't end up walking around Edmonds that day! Brackett's Landing is a gem within walking distance of Edmond main town. The place offers amazing view of the Puget Sound, a place to enjoy the nature and and a beach to hang out with your friends or love ones. The park itself is relatively small, so if you are looking for a major exercise session, probably not the best place for it. However, if you are looking for a nice place with a view of the nature/ferries and just to sit to admire the beauty of the PNW, it's a good place to check out.

Beautiful waterfront park/beach in Edmonds. Its definitely walkable if you're visiting the downtown area. Plenty of benches to sit on if you dont want to go to the beach area. There's a place to rinse your feet & bathrooms if needed. The best place of the beach is along the rock wall. You get some great photos of the water & the Cascades. Super peaceful & everyone was very respectful of you sitting in silence taking in the beauty!

From here you can walk the beach 5.75 miles north. For the most part it's pretty quiet, and the rest of the time ultra relaxing. A long walk on a beach, fresh air, it can't be beat!

It's my backyard beach. I love coming here on the weekends to get some fresh air, people watch and just stroll around with Buddy. He loves this park as well. He gets to meet other dogs and play a little bit. One thing he can't stand-trains come around. He hides behind me and wimpers. Aw, my poor baby. He does his own version of the "Harlem Shake". He gets so nervous this little man of mine. Anywho... it's a really cool place to have some refreshing breeze coming from the water. So much to do here still. I can't wait to discover every corner of my hometown. I Love, love this neighborhood!

A day trip to Edmonds on the train and a perfect day to relax at this beautiful beach! In this case, the pictures are worth a 1,000 words! But if you need a bit more info, the Kingston ferry picks up and drops passengers here. Coffee, dining, cute little shops nearby to explore. There is a path that winds around and a nice little walk where you can watch the divers.

I absolutely love this park!!!! I have been here many times and it never gets old. This park offers so much from watching the ferries come in and out with passengers to watching the trains go by, which I know kids love to watch, and you can watch people take diving lessons or just dive for fun next to the ferry terminal. There are plants of benches to sit and enjoy the amazing views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. There is plenty of beach access to sit and relax on the nice warm summer days or just to sit and relax anytime year round. You can walk out onto the Edmonds Pier and look at all the boats in the Marina and watch some of the people fishing off the pier. I have taken many pictures out here and there are countless places to take some amazing pics!!! It's very easy to spend a whole day on the waterfront since there are plenty of great restaurants in walking distance and parking is free for up to 4 hours. The only downside is that it gets very busy during the summer and parking fills up rather quickly so you will end up parking around the downtown shopping area and walking down, but it makes for a great walk. Just make sure you get here early.

This is a nice little place to enjoy beautiful scenery and have a beach-y experience, minus the crowds and self consciousness. Heh. It's easy to get to, and while there is a somewhat small parking lot, parking is pretty abundant I'm the area. Some of the pros to me are: * Gorgeous views * Easy to walk from here to the Marina Beach Park * Coffee shop is a hop (no skip or jump needed) away * Shopping, variety of dining options are just up the street Cons: * It makes me long for the beaches from back home * Having to cross the train tracks and ferry traffic path to get to the other side * Super narrow sidewalk (makes it tricky with the stroller) Since I mostly go here on weekday mornings, I never have issues with crowds. I just get bored sometimes because I don't know where else to go that's close to where I live that has nice scenery and has sidewalks. Definitely not in Irvine anymore. It's a good thing and bad thing. :/

Beautiful place to watch the sunset. Easy to find a parking and then you can walk along the street and enjoy the amazing view over the ferry and the rail track.

I don't know why, but I have always been scared crossing the bridge over the railroad tracks on the way from the parking lot to the beach. I have no fear of heights, and in fact I feel much more peaceful in the air or on the water than I do on the earth. The bridge is sturdy and safe, with tall, secure fencing on both sides. Little kids were crossing it today with no fear at all. One little kid was getting pulled across it in a large wagon. That was pretty cute to see. It is a bit of a trek from the parking lot to the beach area, a trek that includes this perfectly safe bridge which I somehow mysteriously feel scared while walking on. I recently injured my right heel playing tennis, so I was limping and hobbling and walking quite slowly, but this walk was still quite doable for me today. There were a lot of people at this beach park today, but it really didn't feel crowded, and everyone we talked to was friendly. The only slight bummer was that one of the reasons that we went out there today was to talk with a Naturalist from the Seattle Aquarium. We talked with 3 different Naturalists. They were all friendly enough, but all 3 of them seemed noticeably unenthusiastic about talking about the sea life at this beach park. Oh well, we moved on pretty quickly from that, and we really enjoyed this beach park anyway. There were a few people flying kites, and the mountains looked clear and bright behind the sunlit water. I waded in the water (one of my favorite things to do in life), and the cold waves breaking over my legs and feet felt wonderful on a hot day like today. 5 stars for sure. This place is so beautiful.

We rented our gear from the dive shop right in front with two tanks and got into the water at 5pm. We were lucky that day as the waves were calm and visibilitiy was 40-50 ft. The good thing was the walk at the sand was short but the surface swim to the first buoy before we sank down was a 10 min swim and easy to cramp up in cold waters. We saw enormous groupers, sunken ships, crabs, large sea slugs and my boyfriend even claimed he saw a seal pop his head up to the surface when we were swimming back to shore. The best recommendation for this dive is to call the dive shop in advance to check if other divers said the visibility that day was good - makes a world's difference!

One day a duck flew over the lake, then in front of us, twisting in midair so its feet faced us then flew back to the lake and landed as if to say, hey I'm not afraid of you two. Schatzi just looked at me and was mildly amused by the duck, she looked more interested in going swimming. The lake has been closed to swimming and wading for a while due to pollution issues, so keep that in mind when visiting. Trails from Shoreview Park, from Boeing Creek Park, and Innis Arden Way are the easiest way to access Hidden Lake. If you are a bird air access might be easiest and if you are a salmon water access from Boeing Creek may be the easiest. During the Spring and Summer it is especially fun to come here and look for ducks and their babies. My mom and I have been standing on the shore and had a bunch of ducklings and adult ducks invade the beach as we were standing there. Duck and duckling diving sessions are captivating to watch. Odd creatures also abound here... I once saw what might have been a baby Sasquatch. I have found traffic to the lake to be heavier in the early evenings and during the summer months when middle schoolers and high schoolers frequent the lake and surrounding parks. It's tucked away in Richmond Beach on the waterfront, and even though I am in Richmond Beach a fair amount, including a bar not too far from here, I had no idea this existed. You can not access the water as train tracks and a fence keep you inside the park. It's a small place with little parking, but an actual bathroom on site, a playground, black berry picking and gorgeous views. It seems to be a nightly walking place for many residents in the neighborhood and a hang out spot for local teenagers. In the actual lot there are only 5 spots (1 handicap), but it appears people are able to park up on the hill above the park and walk in. The play ground looks like a nice reason to visit, but it currently has some yellow tape on it for covid. Dining seems to continue to bring in visitors as there are a few picnic tables and we witnessed multiple people stop by with take out. It's very nice to be able to watch the ferries go by, including some big ships and if you are lucky a train or two. I think this would be an enjoyable place for anyone who likes to gaze out over the water. I plan to go back some day when cruise ships return and see if I can catch one going by, in the mean time though its a great place to watch a sunset.
