Repeat visit for gas using Harris Teeter eVic points. Regular unleaded for $1.94, normally $2.34. Like last time, I paid at the pump using my credit card; entering my loyalty ID wasn't as smooth as before due to worn keypad. Eventually remedied the hiccup by mashing the numbers hard (on the third try). While fueling, I grabbed the window washer wand. The liquid inside container may have been dirtier than my car but I used it anyway. Receipt printed clearly at the end of transaction. I'll be back next time I need gas and happen to be in close proximity. read more

Been here 4 times total. They have done a great job every time, and I can always rely on this place. They have fixed my oil leaks, broken wheel bearings and more. read more

I took my (deployed) buddy's car in for an oil & filter change, fluid flush, and VA State Inspection at around 10am on 9Sep2022. They had a reasonably long line of cars already, but managed to get me in with a guarantee to begin in the late afternoon. As promised they started at around 2 or 3pm and gave me a call to ask if I would like the windshield wipers replaced to pass the only hit on the inspection (which I had noticed were pretty worn down previously,) to which I agreed. All said and done it was timely, cost efficient, and on the up-and-up. read more

They will fail your car; then once you fix whatever simple thing they failed you for; the inspector is nowhere to be found for reinspection. I will never use this inspection station again. I won't even buy gas there let alone let them work on my car. read more

I tried to get my car looked at and the person answering the phone told me to call back in an hour because the mechanic would be in an hour . I called back and was told that the mechanic had not shown up because he had " fallen back to sleep". I could not get a clear solid answer on what type of repairs they did because nobody answering the phones had any automotive knowledge. Woukd not recommend. Go to a real mechanic , not this gas station. read more

I have been using BP for service work for years. Things will go well for an oil change or two then comes the "recommendations". I take the same "recommendations" to a shop that I trust and was told they were not necessary. I took a vehicle there recently for a state inspection. They failed it and said it would be around $700 for the repairs to pass inspection. Again, I took it for a second opinion to a shop that I trust and was told that the vehicle should never have failed inspection. They passed it and the vehicle is back in the road. I fear that people that know any better would just pay their fraudulent repair and the vicious cycle continues. Maybe that's to pay for their new gas pump roof. I don't know? Now go back a month when I took my other vehicle there for an oil change. Everything was fine until I was on vacation at the beach recently and noticed oil leaking. I checked the dip stick it and it was halfway down the "ok" level. So I cut my vacation short and took it to my trusted shop. They put it on a lift and the oil filter was extremely loose and leaking oil. They tightened it and problem solved. This is just 2 of the many examples of bad experiences that I have had at the BP. It is convenient because I live close by but I'll trade saving money for convenience anyway. I have swore off the BP and have already found another local trusted shop recommended by a friend. I'll give them a shot and if I like them will stay for life. Stay away from the BP and their "recommendations" and faulty failed inspections. read more

Only mechanics I trust in Hampton Roads! Very honest and reasonable repair costs. I drop off car the night before and car is done with no surprises each time. Fast inspections and patient with explaining any concerns. Thank you BP! read more

State inspection - fast, courteous, and efficient. They also do a battery check along with your fluids. No games with unnecessary repairs. Nice to find a professional staff to work on your vehicles close to home. read more

Drove out of my way to visit this location for an inspection due to the positive yelp reviews. Unfortunately the woman behind the counter is extremely condescending and made it very clear that this place doesn't need my business as they are basically busy for the next week or so and I shouldn't bother coming back unless I plan to leave my car overnight and cross my fingers that they have time to get to it the next day. Now, I understand the message, the place is super busy....I get it. But this woman's delivery could use some work. A little less snark, a little more "thanks for stopping in, sorry we can't help ya out today" would suffice. read more

I always scratch my oil filter with an X on it to make sure my a new oil filter is put in it's place. Sure enough, Bayview BP returned my van to me with my old oil filter still in. My husband paid for the oil change and brought the van home to me, that's when I opened the hood to check if the work was done. I called immediately, asked to speak to the mechanic who's name was on our receipt and he was rude and denied it. Then he put me on hold, the manager got on the phone and apologized and told me to bring the van back, I told him, no way! Yelp didn't exist when this happened a few years back, but here we go! Karma will get ya! I just hate to think of all the people they've lied to about changing their oil. Always mark your oil filters! That's the only way you will know if the job has been done. And don't go to this station for an oil change, go to Jiffy Lube. That's what they do! read more

I am not sure if JOSH was having a bad day when he inspected my car, was overworked and seeing things, a very poor mechanic or just hadn't met the monthly quota of failing people to try to rip them off for repairs. Whichever one it was---he failed my car and quoted over $800 worth of repairs. I freaked out and immediately took my car to a mechanic to look at the part JOSH said needed repairs praying that it could be fixed for less. The mechanic saw NO SUCH INDICATION that ANYTHING was wrong with said part. I then took my car to a VERY LARGE, REPUTABLE inspection station to get reinspected and passed with flying colors. I think it is very poor business practice to be so deceitful when people are putting their trust in you to be unbiased and properly inspect your car. Go here at your own discretion---BEWARE. P.S I should have been worried when it took over an hour to inspect the car because he was so distracted by playing on his cell phone. read more

I am a wife of a Stage 4 Cancer Survivor and I would not recommend this place for anyone's convenience here in the Bayview /Tidewater area. My husband had to have our truck towed there due to a flat tire, they said yeah have it towed here. Well, it was towed there and therefore my husband warned them beforehand that he did not have the tools to take the tire off. So, he gets there and they say ohh we don't have the right tools to take the tire off, sir!!! Long story short, after getting it towed there and to install the tire, they didn't put in the right amount of air in the tire before us leaving the lot. It was only 36psi in the tire when we went to put the air in. The OWNER/MANAGER there was so rude to my husband, who is disabled and has trouble speaking, because of a tracheostomy. She did not conduct business in a professional manner and therefore, mocked my husband in the way that he was sounding as he talked to her in front of other customers in the store. Sooo RUDE!!! My family will never go to them again. Took 2 days to put a brand new spare tire on our truck. Never experienced anything like this in my life. They all are very rude and inconsiderate of people in general. I don't wish this bad experience on no one. Won't go there again and My actual rating for this place is NOT a 1 , it's a BIG FAT ZERO. This type of customer service SHOULD NOT be tolerated in or by the public, no matter where you are. read more

My roommates car broke down last week she called a tow truck and had it towed there. She called the shop to tell them it was on the way. Shortly aftrerward they called her back to said it would cost over $1000 dollars to fit. She told them that she had to talk to her husband before she could make a decision. The caller told her that they had already bought the parts. She called the tow truck to get the car back and the shop charged her $85 to get the car back. That sunday a friend came over to look at the car. He found a bolt that was supposed to be missing on the engine block and he was able to fix it for less than $50. In other words stay away from this shop. read more

Just went to pick up my car after they called me to say that it passed the inspection. As I turned the engine on, the engine light came on immediately which I haven't had before. Went back to let them know and guess what their reply was? "You have to pay $99.00 so we can run diagnostics." I have to pay money after they clearly messed with my car while inspecting it. What a bunch of criminals! Stay away. read more

very fast state inspection. did not try to sell me something i did not need. Will definately use this place again for other mechanical work

Went to get my inspection which will run you $16, no gripes there, however the guy said my bushings for the suspension were going bad. It was true because they showed me however they wanted $770 and 5 hours. Went to Computune and they said they'd get it done in 3.5 hours for $465. The good thing is that the mechanics were nice to tell me what was run as well as show me. read more

Very unfriendly customer service but very good mechanics. I went in to get my vehicle inspected and expect an hour or two wait. It turns out it would take 4 hours (so far its been 5). I understand they're super busy all the time but why try to market themselves (selling VIP cards) if they have no problem getting customers? The thing that irked me the most was when I asked if I could make an appointment for the next day but the vehicle had to be parked on the premises in order to secure the service. I said fine and asked if there's any other place I can get it inspected. She laughed like I know nothing and responded that all other places would have the same issue. It takes a lot of strategy to get decent service at this place. Will be searching elsewhere.. read more

Well it's a gas station and that's it. There a shop attached but paid no attention to what it's for. Went in for some coffee and saw one lowly little coffee pot asked the attendant if that's all the coffee they had and he said that's it. Lol I was sad. Y'all need some AMPM's out here. Cheap gas not a good looking station very small. read more

Bayview BP is a honest and reliable service station with very courteous employees. Have been going there since we relocated after Hurricane Katrina. I thank them for the honesty and kindness. read more

The mechanics are great. They are very busy and they don't have enough parking, so they put your car in a church parking lot. Unfriendly lady checks you in and out. read more

Because I have a VIP card, I used this service station for inspections and oil changes and found them to be reliable; that opinion changed when I had an EGR valve replaced. I was told one price on the phone and charged $45 more when I returned to pay. I left messages for the manager, who never returned my calls. It is unprofessional to use a bait and switch technique and lull customers using a lower price. I have a 16-year-old vehicle and have experience dealing with mechanics. This experience was a first and the last time Bayview BP suckers me. read more

There really isn't a lot to say about this gas station. I only use them for gas and on very very rare occasions, because of their many major environmental and safety incidents . The property is clean and the staff seem nice. read more

So I give this a 4-star rating not for their oh so low (cough cough) gas prices. No it's for their customer service. The employees they have working there are so full of personality it's a pleasure going in the shop. Gas pricing like most BPs is on the high side but their customer service is very well put together. Also the store is small but nicely cleaned & maintained. read more

Never had major work done there, but have had state inspections. Just had one today BTW: They failed my truck because the indicator lamp in the dashboard for the parking brake was intermittent. I don't believe I've ever even had an inspector check that before. Could have been that way for years and has nothing to do with safety. Then they wanted to charge me $60 for a $15 part and less than 5 minutes of work. Needless to say I changed it myself. Then they were VERY rude when I brought it back for reinspection and when I asked how long I was going to have to wait for them to take the 10 seconds it would require for them to verify that the dashboard lamp is now coming on, they lied to me and told me the inspector had just "gone to lunch" (at 1:45pm) and would be back in 45 minutes...when I could see that there was a truck in the bay being inspected right then. Don't trust them, they will try to rip you off and then will lie to you when you call them on it. read more

Super courteous staff. Mechanics were willing and able to answer my questions about repairs without talking over my head, especially Jay. I will be using Bayview BP for all of my repairs in the future, too. Really happy. read more

Do not get your car serviced here. I went in for an a/c repair, and was told I needed a new compressor. The mechanic told me that when the compressor needs to be replaced, the whole system needs replacing. He said it would be about $1500.00. I took my car to the dealership, and it's not the compressor, and the repair cost me $450.00. Big difference! I don't know if they are running a scam or if the mechanic just doesn't know what he's doing, but either way, I will never go there again. read more

Charged nearly $600 for front brakes. 12300 something miles later the premium rotors I paid for were warped. I was told that the manufacturer would not cover the brakes due to customer usage and not manufacturer defect. Rotors for my car are $111. Brake pads for my car are $50. The rotors come with the 2-year warranty and the brake pads come with a lifetime warranty from AutoZone. That's $165. Anybody who's changed brakes knows that a brake job takes Maybe 45 minutes. So doing the math I was charged $435 for what should have been no more than an hour and a half's labor. I am currently taking my car to bingos on Granby Street, the price was half of BP's price which is very fair. I would stay away from that place even if I was running from the most evil looking roaring monster. read more

I never expect "special" treatment but fair and decent treatment. This Bp service station is one of the most fair and honest inspection stations I've ever been to. Being a woman I always get nervous when having my car inspected so I always make sure that everything has been thoroughly checked and replaced before I go. A few years ago different service stations would tell me I needed things replaced that I had already replaced or had checked to make sure they would pass. Im happy to say, this had been two years in a row that I've gone to the BP on Chesapeake Blvd for an inspection and the inspector has not tried to trick me into purchasing any wiper blades, bulbs for my license plate, or any other tidbits that most try to sneak in on you. Also a little note for anyone who wonders how nice these guys are, my car was supposed to be the last one inspected, someone came in at the end of my inspection and the inspector took his car also even though they were closing very soon. read more

I'm a VIP customer and all I went there for was an oil change and tire rotation. Just because I have new tires I guess they feel it doesn't need to be rotated. If someone try's to sell you a VIP card stay away. This place is horrible and you have to babysit them. If you want anything done you better watch them do it. read more
