Slightly blurry but too excited to start nomming! 12" pepperoni steak sub and 12" Metro Italian.
    Penny F.

Absolutely the best Italian deli I've had in NoVA in the almost 30 years I've lived here off and on. Can't believe this is my first review of the Alban location, though FAR from my first order with them. Used to order from their original location when my parents first moved to Woodbridge, VA......then at the Ft Belvior location which is when I fell utterly in love with the Pepperoni Cheesesteak and Metro Italian subs. It's been 5 years since my last visit simply because I no longer work in or near any of their locations, but we ordered via Doordash tonight. 12" Pepperoni cheesesteak with LTO, spicy mustard and hot peppers, one 12" Metro with everything, one 12" Metro with LTO and hot peppers. I knew my hot sub wouldn't be delivered hot, but honestly, I've had it lukewarm and cold and hot before and it's just as good in almost every form. They labeled each individual sub *perfectly* and we were just as impressed as we always are. Haven't tried the pizza yet, will save that for an in-person visit rather than food delivery since we're 7 miles away. Can't recommend them highly enough, not only because great food but also always great customer service no matter WHICH location (and I've visited most of them) and extra love for family owned business!

Vegan Chicken Parm Sub, Caprese Side Salad

Amazing find, family owned, friendly staff, good mix of vegetarian/vegan creations on menu, well worth the drive. Got the vegetarian/vegan chicken parm with a side caprese salad. Fresh herbs and spices packed with every bite. Texture aside, could really compete with the real thing here. Can't wait to try out all their plant based options :)

I visited this restaurant unexpectedly after being invited by a friend, so I arrived casually dressed in jeans and a plain shirt, not realizing it was a more formal, reservation-based establishment. Upon arrival, I noticed most guests were predominantly white and dressed in business casual or formal attire. Our server, Yoko, initially seated us and provided water and bread. However, after briefly stepping away for about three minutes to use the restroom, we returned to find our table completely cleared, despite the fact that we had just been seated and had not even touched the bread. This was confusing and frustrating. Yoko apologized and reseated us, but I could barely hear her. So, I asked her directly if she assumed if we left and she said yes. While I appreciate the apology, the situation felt presumptive and uncomfortable. Given that we had only been seated for a few minutes with minimal interaction, the assumption that we had left seemed unwarranted. Whether intentional or not, the experience came across as judgmental, from our casual attire. I also felt the establishment being racist because we were the only dark tanned and Asian Americans here. Yoko offered complimentary dessert as an apology, which I initially appreciated. However, when I followed up later, the offer became unclear. Instead of being able to choose from the menu, we were given a small portion of cake and ice cream to go. The dessert was underwhelming in both presentation and taste, falling short of expectations for a restaurant at this price point. The cake was similar to a low-quality dessert of any budget friendly buffets I have been to. As for the food, it did not meet expectations. While the cheese wheel dish appeared authentic, it lacked depth of flavor beyond just salt and pepper. The candied bacon mac and penne alla vodka were similarly bland. The calamari stood out as the best dish--light and crispy--while the arancini was disappointing, with a filling that tasted processed rather than fresh. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Between the initial service issue and the underwhelming food, the restaurant did not justify its pricing or reputation. I would not recommend dining here, particularly if you are expecting attentive service and high-quality cuisine. Save your money and go to Olive Garden instead.

We were seated by the window with a wonderful view and some nice relaxing music playing for atmosphere. We were greeted by our server Seth, who explained to us the menu and suggested we try their Short Rib Pizza. We ordered some Tuscan Chicken wings with Garlic and Parm on them as our appetizer. While waiting he brought us out some bread and their olive oil mixture. Wings showed up just as we finished our bread (great timing). Wings were hot and fresh and crispy just as expected. Just as we finished up our wings our pizza was brought out. Let me tell you, I love pizza and have eaten all over the Northern Va area, and this is by far one of the best pizza's I've ever had. The crust was light and crispy, but strong enough to hold up to the cheese, meat and caramelized onions. If I hadn't ordered wings, I could have eaten the whole pizza myself, it was that good. We were full after that and got our desserts to go, Chocolate cake and Tiramisu to have later at home. The Bad The Rolls - the rolls were plain and barely warm and didn't contribute to the fantastic olive oil combo they present you. They can improve in this area easily The Wings - I couldn't taste the garlic or parm on my wings, they have other options like buffalo and sweet chili so we will have to try those next time. The Good Service - Seth was fantastic, answering all our questions, providing ideas on the best menu items and kept checking on us even though he was running the bar. Can not compliment him enough. Pizza - again, THE BEST, I would highly recommend this to anybody making their first trip here. Atmosphere - was cozy and comforting, very different then most places you go for dinner, I mean who has couches for a place to sit and eat :) All in all, we were both very impressed that we signed up for their rewards program which Seth added the $10 discount to our meal right there on the spot. We will be going back again, and this time I want to try their Short Rib Dinner, if it's anything like the short rib we had on our pizza, it's going to be delicious.

Last week, we got there at our regular time and there was not a table, big enough to accommodate us so we sat on the "other side" of the half wall. Naturally, we assumed since we were regular customers, that they would honor the happy hour prices. Wrong assumption. Not only did they not honor the happy hour prices, they would not even let us get ranch dressing on our salads because we were not in the bar! Literally the craziest thing I've ever heard! My bill alone, on average, was $75 per week, times four weeks is $300 a month. There were at least six of each week. They just lost $1800 a month just from us. Bad hill to die on when times are so financially difficult for everyone. Their manager should be ashamed of themselves. So if anyone can recommend another happy hour hot spot in the Kingstowne area ... we're all ears!! It's buttery, silky, rich without being overwhelming, and they give you such a generous portion that you definitely leave satisfied. The Parmesan-crusted chicken is just as delicious. It's moist, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Adding shrimp just takes it over the top. We also had the mozzarella sticks, and they were everything you want them to be, crispy on the outside and absolutely overflowing with cheese on the inside. Fresh, hot, and really delicious.
