I sent dimensions and a site image and was able to get a quote without a site visit. Our installer was very detail oriented and discovered our wall was not completely flush, which meant that the tile at the top of the wall would be a slightly different width than the one at the bottom. We discussed different strategies for approaching this problem. The zellige we received was also highly variable in quality and color. I asked our installer to pick out the tile in the best condition since we had ordered 10-20% extras and were very happy with the results.

Avoid for Large Projects - Poor Communication, Costly Mistakes, and Delays…read more I would not hire R&A Stone and Tile unless you are a contractor yourself and can monitor the job 24/7. They may be fine for small tiling jobs, or a cheap kitchen flip that you don't care about the quality but anything beyond that is a mistake. Project Experience: -Disorganized & Poor Communication: Ruben, the contractor, constantly miscommunicated with his crew, leading to errors and wasted time. The crew speaks limited English, and Ruben failed to properly relay instructions. -Constant Rescheduling & Delays: The project was plagued with intentional delays because they were trying to juggle randoms crew members to the job site. They do not have a dedicated crew. To keep the job moving, I had to step in and install my stove hood myself. Quality of Work: -Minimal Supervision & Costly Mistakes: Ruben was only on-site for 30 minutes to an hour a day. The crew made frequent errors, wasted materials, and ultimately cost me an extra $5,000 in materials. Unprofessional Workmanship: -A crew member (Adrian) improperly used self-leveling, causing mortar to seep through walls and doors. -The same worker almost set my kitchen on fire due to incorrect wiring. -A junior crew member (Manuel) threw away new materials, further increasing costs. -My husband and I had to redo the wall texture they applied because it was done so poorly. -The countertop was improperly installed (by Victor), leading to a post-installation crack. The contractor promised to fix it but was a no-show, wasting an entire day of our time. -The dishwasher was incorrectly installed (Ricardo), requiring my husband to take a day off to reinstall it. Material Pricing & Usage: The contractor ordered materials on my behalf, but the pricing changed and was increased without transparency. The crew also took materials I paid for to use on other job sites. Also on two occasions, we had to order more tiles at 3x the cost because all the measurements were incorrect. Other Issues: -The crew trashed and clogged our bathroom toilet. They denied responsibility until I installed a camera--only then did the issue stop. -Never reimbursed or refunded for damages and extra expenses. Final Verdict: Ruben is a nice guy and means well, but his company is not equipped for big jobs (over $10K). If you have a small bathroom tile job, they might be fine, but anything beyond that--find a better contractor. We rushed to finish the project just to be done with them, and in hindsight, we should have hired someone else from the start. Do not make the same mistake we did. 2/5 - Would not recommend for major home renovations. Recommend for small jobs only.

Like come on lady measurements are measurements and that doesn't change . Thank god I have a great team of installers that made everything work. My installers had to do some customization to the cabinets to make everything work. Kitchen is a 6 weeks old and we are gonna need to replace 2 sets of hardware on two drawers because they don't shut all the way. We have the drawers that will shut gently once they are pushed. These two drawers stay open and will not fully close softly like they should. We need to fully close those two drawers by hand. $10k spent on cabinets, quartz and hardware . Two stars is for the nice slabs of quartz and the color of the cabinets . Will not be returning or recommending this business.

We went to many different granites/stone/quartz places in the area. There's an area in San Leandro…read morewith tons of stone places and many were recommended to me. I actually stumbled across this place from googling/yelping locations. This was the cheapest and met our needs with NO issues. I guess what we were looking for was a little bit particular so it was a challenge. Since they also do cabinets, we inquired about the cabinetry. We were pleasantly surprised they were able to honor our specific request with no additional surcharge. The price for replacing our countertop and adding unique cabinets was very reasonable, we were very pleased. Pauline helped us and she is very helpful and nice. She was very responsive to our concerns and answered all our questions. As a first renovation, it's important to also never make any assumption and ask lots of questions. Since they are a cabinet and stone place, don't assume they will take care of plumbing or electrical. I asked about this beforehand so I was fully aware what was included and not included in the price. The people showed up that day and finished the job exactly as expected. There is one little thing about the work that day that bother me is that they used one of my clean bowls in the cabinets to store some old faceplates. I prefer they would have asked before touching anything in the cabinets and using them for something. I would have used something else to store the faceplates. Overall, great customer service, great product and great pricing! Definitely would recommend this place to everyone!

I give FGY two stars because the cabinets are beautiful but the overall experience was frustrating…read more Too many things to mention and not enough space. My biggest advice is to have a really clear understanding of your kitchen design and what services are provided. My design did not include draws on the draft (not sure how that happened) even though they were listed on the inventory list. I did not realize it until I was putting my dishes back and had no place for my utensils. When I called the store and asked about it, I was given the runaround until Erika stepped in. The only solution was to install drawers in my cabinet. So I lose cabinet space. Unfortunately, if I don't completely open both doors when accessing the drawers, they scratch up the inside of the cabinet door. The other warning is to know that you will spend extra on plumbing and electrical installation because it's not included.
