4.5 stars... Who would have thought a major league sports stadium would have food so good that I wish there were more locations outside the park? I certainly didn't. Box Frites has the most amazing garlic parmesan fries and a fried berry and apple pie with caramel sauce that's practically life changing. They do have dipping sauces (first one is free, and $1.75ea after) but the garlic parmesan definitely don't need any extra flavor. The prices are a little high but definitely reasonable, especially for the location. If you're at CitiField wondering where this awesome spot is, it's by the food court type area by the Shake Shack behind right field. Here's the break down for most of their menu: Beer (about 24 ounces): 8-8.75 Fries (regular or garlic): 6.25 sm, 8 lg Sweet Potato Fries (regular or garlic): 7.25 sm, 9.75lg Pies (berry or berry/apple): 4.75 Hot Dogs (reg, buffalo, blt): $5.50-6.75

Garlic parmesan fries! You can't eat just one!!!

We were so excited to try Box Frites's Garlic Parmesan fries after reading about it on YELP. Unfortunately, something went awry as we ordered; though we ordered the Garlic Parmesan fries, we were given plain ones. I did like them as they reminded me of Roy Rogers's fries which I haven't had in years...don't know if they're still around. At $15 for a not so big fries and large soda, the fries could've been fresh. At least the person behind the counter was friendly and helpful to boot!

Super delicious garlic French fries. It was expensive but it's such a huge serving of fries. The garlic fries were tossed in Parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic. So addicting but a little in the salty side. BLT hot dog was tasty also. Had some special mayo sauce, bacon, tomato and lettuce. The bun tasted like potato bread which was so good. If I ever go to citifield, forget the crazy shake shack line and come here!

For ballpark food, the serving size and price were good! (~$10) Had the garlic parmesan fries with rosemary ranch, with or without the sauce the fries were great. Well seasoned and not to salty. Grab 2 forks, the large size is perfect for sharing, just beware of the raw garlic pieces of you're on a date!

Whenever I'm at Citi Field and have craving for burger and fries, I head to Shake Shack for the burger and Box Frites for the fries. Box Frites features thick-cut Idaho potato fries with your choice of dipping sauces-- 1st sauce is included, additional sauce is $2-- ballpark mayo, bacon aioli, blue cheese, chipotle ketchup. We always get the garlic-parmesan frites with roasted garlic and grated pecorino cheese. A large box will cost you $8 and is perfect for sharing. Beware of stinky breath afterwards though! The consistency of the fries can vary.. sometimes they will be super crispy and other times they are less crispy. Still worth a try and def the best option for fries at Citi Field.

The large box is the better deal. Share it with your friends and family. I crave the smoky bacon sauce during the off-season...LGM!

Don't waste your time on the Parmesan fries. The line was long and they were burned. Nathan's fries are way better.

Ah Queens Night Market, my beloved. The ONE food festival I always genuinely look forward to every…read moreyear because it's the only one that's still worth it for what it provides: an authentic tasting of a culture's ethnic cuisine while being small and contained enough to enjoy multiple platters from all around the market. While Smorgasburg is up to.... what, $20 a plate, that same amount can get you 3-4 tastings from a variety of stalls here that are all more authentic and tasty than what the former can really offer. First visit of the year here so I had to go all out with my buds and we got a Brazilian Steak Sandwich, Pork Intestines (my personal fave), Chicken Curry Roti, Jerk Chicken, Pork Belly, Cheese Stuffed Plantains, Fujianese style Pork Ribs, Vietnamese Lychee Coffee, Pakora, Polish Sausage, Octopus Skewer, and Passionfruit Juice. Overall, most everything was quite good and shoutout to my two favorites that I always get every visit, the pork intestine skewers and the passionfruit juice. I don't know how much longer this place has at its price point, but I know I'm going to milk it for as long as I possibly can and enjoy the flavors this market has to offer to its fullest.

Dude dude dude dude…read more This was AMAZING. I found it incidentally online looking for things to do in Flushing, since I was taking my mom out there in the morning for Dim Sum, and just stumbled across the night market. It's so amazing. The whole vibe is great, as is the authenticity and variety of the different food stalls. The people working them have to be from the represented culture and no item can be more than 6 dollars. Heck, even the tall boy of excellent local beer was only 6 dollars. The Night Market stall also sold a cookbook signed by the creators of the market, and I bought it. The recipes are incredible. Not the sort of Manhattan street fair with a few gems but otherwise a lot of sausage on a stick, Egyptian cotton sheets, and funnel cakes, but a real international experience. Had bison chile frybread, a burmese styled quesadilla, skewers of lamb, the list goes on and on. I can't wait to go back. I've been gushing about it to anyone who will listen since I went for their soft opening. And the location in the park is awesome too.

I ordered a premium beef with sweet potato topping and a hibiscus refresher to wash it down. Service was quick, as no other customers were present and it hadn't even reached noon. The corndog and hibiscus refresher were served promptly within 5 mins. The premium beef tasted like a regular hot dog to me. It just didn't taste like it was 100% beef and had more of an Oscar Meyer beef/chicken/pork mixture taste. Moreover the corndog topping was pretty disappointing as the sweet potato topping was soft and not crisp while the corndog topping below was a little mushy and the hot dog itself had no snap of a solid casing. Their menu advertised that the up charge for sweet potato topping was $1.50 (in actuality, it was $1.90) plus they would discount $1 when purchasing a refresher in addition to a corndog; there was no discount applied to my order. On top of that, I had asked for no ice in the hibiscus refresher (as it was 49° outside today and nice and cool inside the food court). The lady behind the counter filled up the cup about 3/4 of the way stating that they usually put ice in so it wouldn't be strong. I said that it was okay and that I liked it strong. Despite that, she didn't offer to fill it up all the way. Customer service was lacking.

After all these years, this is still one of the most inexpensive Chinese bakeries anywhere in NYC…read more They also have some of the largest and fluffiest breads around. With that said, I don't come here much because their selection is small and some of the pastries (eg. Egg Tart) are underwhelming. I really come here for two specific sandwiches - chicken and fish. Over the years, the under $2 sandwiches have climbed to $4 now. Regardless, it's still a good buy and definitely a worthwhile cheap eats. When they are fresh, they can really hit the spot. The fish is slightly on the salty side to pair beautifully with the airy bread. I'm less of a fan on the bread for the chicken, but the thigh meat is super tender and flavorful. These are still very good, but timing to get one that is hot is hit or miss. The service is typical of Chinese bakeries, fast and possibly a smile on a good day. However, the space is small with one tiny table stuck behind a garbage can. Some flies were visible too. I would do takeout.

I expected a lightly taro-flavored bread, but this was something else entirely. The loaf has a layer of sponge cake on top and is stuffed with large chunks of taro. Unfortunately, the taro makes the bread soggy, the sponge cake is dry rather than soft, and the taro itself is dense and overcooked. This was not a good alternative to regular bread, and I wanted to share my experience so others know what to expect as it was on the pricy side of Asian bakeries at $11.
