Had them out to do two termite inspections, at two separate properties, and while there for less…read morethan an hour at each property (at a cost of $340 each) the "inspector" was not able to answer any questions about whether to not visible holes in wood was from termites or not, and both reports came back exactly the same - some very minor appearance that could be droppings in a tiny area, that he could not say was recent or if it indicated they were active, and no other evidence anywhere above these areas of termites in ANY other area of house. (we are talking an area of less than one square foot) but recommended tenting for both houses, and to contact another Pest company to arrange, because they don't do tenting. Contacted the other Pest company and asked them to review the report to see if we really needed tenting vs. spot treatment, and they said it would be a conflict of interest to for them to review the report, but they were eager to make an appointment for the tenting. Asked to talk over the reports with the "boss" (as the employee referred to) at WillKilz for clarification and was told "he's very busy" she would give him the message, and a month later, I'm still waiting for that call back. We finally went with someone else because it's all just a bit too fishy to us. Too bad, because we really like the other pest company that they are obviously partnered with in some way, because in the past they have done a REAL termite inspection, that took a couple hours and were able to answer questions and provide insight.

And I have generally been satisfied. Their folks come on time -- or offer to come early if they're ahead of schedule -- and are always pleasant and efficient. BUT they do one thing that drives me crazy: Instead of contacting the customer to schedule an appointment at a convenient time, their automated scheduler simply informs you that they're coming at X date and time. Because my schedule varies, that almost never works, and I have to waste my time contacting them to reschedule. When I complained about this once, they said, roughly, that they have to do it this way. No they don't. I've never encountered another business that operates this way and it's a constant source of frustration.

However, I spent several more months considering, then decided to wait for the following year to follow through with my commitment. Now, we are ready to proceed. I emailed Deanne (who sent me the proposal) several times over several months with no response requesting if the price was still good so I could sign. I also asked that it be revised if necessary. I emailed her a few weeks ago about this once more and no reply. I emailed her again yesterday - ignored. So I called the office and was told she was on another line, but I left a recording on her voicemail. No response. And then, again, today. No response. I called back later without mentioning my name and they said their schedule extends to December 2024. When I expressed surprise, I was met with a bored-sounding, "well, that's just how it is, live with it." My bottom line: If you want mediocre conversation, non-caring and non-responsive employees - and if you are willing to wait a year for them to attend to you - then, by all means go with Hilo Termite and Pest Control! If their actual production is anything like their communication, run away as far and as fast as you can.

I…read moretrusted this company because Patrick was the only one who crawled under the house and took pics of ground termite tunnels. the next highest bidder only stayed about ten minutes and did dot crawl under the house. the other two bidders did not crawl under the house also. when the termini work crew showed up the senior guy gave tips on preventive maintenance against future infestation. we took the maintenance contract as well and I want to see how that works when they come back to check the bait stations. also, this company has been in business for over 95 years so I am assured it is not a "fly by night" company. And yes, they are expensive but would you escape Cuba in a rowboat or a cabin cruiser?

I asked what happens if the contractor is careless and causes damage, Sarah told me they would take care of it. the third party contractor was careless. they throw ladders up against the edges of my newer metal roof, causing damage, dropped heavy rolled up tarps on my roof and bent down a portion of my newer rain gutter. I texted Sarah about the damage. after two weeks of trying to get a reply, she texted that her boss said I needed to read the damage waive. I bought a one year renewable warranty, but was never given a copy of the warranty. all you have to do is read their long list of horrible reviews.
