The waterfall is still beautiful though! As mentioned in other reviews, I would highly recommend making your reservation online before your visit. Try to get the earliest time slot available. Also, wear good walking shoes and bring enough water! It seems like the way you get to Seven Falls has changed quite a bit. I don't remember having to park downhill and take a shuttle to the entrance. The walk to the waterfall, although still beautiful, also feels narrower and more developed than I remember. There are more walkways and structures along the way, which make the experience feel a little more tourist-oriented, or, as I kept thinking, a little "Disneyfied." It's still a beautiful walk, but perhaps not quite as natural or rustic as I remember it from 30 years ago. We went on a Sunday morning in September, and the weather was beautiful. We arrived shortly after 9 a.m. and had no trouble finding parking. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for the next shuttle. If you purchased your tickets ahead of time, they simply scan them while you're waiting in line, so the process was very quick. The shuttle drops you off by the big fence. From there, you walk to the waterfall. It is an uphill walk, but not too steep, and the walkway follows alongside a beautiful stream. Along the way, there is a tunnel you can walk through, with an elevator at the end that takes you to a viewpoint and gift shop. There is also a staircase outside the tunnel that takes you to the same place. You can take the elevator back down or choose to use the stairs. After some more walking, you reach the waterfall. There is a seating area at the bottom where you can relax and enjoy the view. There are 224 stairs to climb if you want to get to the top of the waterfall, but that part is optional. You can admire the waterfall from the bottom. The stairs to the top are definitely tiring! Use the handrails whenever you can, and don't hesitate to stop and rest if you need to. Once you reach the top, there are two trails you can take for further exploration--one is shorter (20 min. round trip) and the other is longer (40 min.). There are signs to guide you. All of the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful.

The place is massive and worth the price. I ordered tickets online a few weeks prior just in case, but as we arrived, there were no lines to get in. They have designated dog days, which was so fun. During these days, dogs are able to roam the park as well. We came around the time where it was very humid and hot and they have fans with Miss blowers everywhere which was nice. I was able to feed the giraffes for a dollar for a bunch of lettuce. Please continue to support the Cheyenne Mountain zoo. I purchased a $50 weekday season pass so I could bring my family back regularly. Sounds like a great deal, right? WRONG. Parking costs $20 EVERY SINGLE VISIT. Let that sink in. One afternoon of parking costs 40% of the entire season pass. Visit three times and you've spent $60 just to park your car -- MORE THAN THE PASS ITSELF. At this point, Great Wolf Lodge isn't operating a family resort. It's operating a parking lot business with a water park attached. And the system they've built to collect this money is absurd. A gated entrance, timestamped parking tickets, QR-code payments, charges linked to your wristband, and an exit gate requiring authorization to leave. The whole experience feels like a toll collection operation disguised as a family vacation destination. The best part? At check-in, the employee cheerfully offered to put the parking charge on my wristband for "convenience." How thoughtful! Nothing says family-friendly hospitality like making it slightly easier to collect another $20 from someone who already paid for a season pass. Here's a revolutionary business concept: If you're selling families unlimited weekday access to your resort, maybe don't financially punish them every time they actually use it. This isn't hospitality. It's an obnoxious, nickel-and-dime business model designed to squeeze additional revenue out of repeat customers. I'll get whatever value I can out of the pass I've already purchased, and then I'm done. I have absolutely no intention of rewarding this garbage business model with another season pass. To anyone considering buying one: Do the parking math BEFORE you purchase. That attractive $50 price tag becomes a joke remarkably quickly. Great Wolf Lodge: Come for the water park. Austin was our instructor for the second time and he was awesome! I had a reluctant flyer who changed his mind a couple of times and the staff was so great - they just wanted us all to have fun. The reluctant flyer even asked for more time, which was accommodated with no questions asked! When you consider what it must cost to operate this kind of establishment, the prices seem very fair to me. We can't wait to come back!
