I golf here a lot. This is the second time I had something happen you don't expect. The first time was drunk golfers. But this time today. I had an old ass women in pink rushing me along. I dealt with that. I'm dam near a scratch golfer keep in mind. She then proceeds to come back and say I'm not parked correctly and I'm picking up people balls on the course. I she accused me of picking up a yellow ball. I only play white pro v. Not only did she lie she said she didn't say that when later confronted about her lies. I love the course BUT I won't deal with the disrespect of an old women who is power hungry with what little power she has on the course. I paid good money to golf and that's just what we were doing. I'm huge on etiquette and I follow golf rules strictly. That women's needs a new job she has no place on a golf course. I feel sorry for her husband and has to listen to that bs all the time. I'd rather just kick the bucket. She sing handed ruined our whole match. I'll be golfing at Elwood for a while until she's not around. read more

The course was in great shape and fun. All the staff were helpful and polite. We had a drink in the lounge after, and that was good.

I read so many great things about this golf course that when my husband and I decided to do a golf loop around the state of Colorado, I wanted to include it. The course itself was in great shape, both fairways and greens. Two reasons for the three-star rating; the first is the pace of play. Granted it was a Sunday, but the round was nearly six hours. We did not see one ranger during the entire 18 holds. The second reason was service. We saw the bar cart once on the second hole; she said she would see us, 'every three or four holes', but we never saw her again. The snack shack was also closed. As is typical of golf courses in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Walking Stick was open before noon today (Feb 17, 2018) in spite of an area snowfall two days ago. We were very appreciative of the warm and friendly treatment we got from the head professional, Dave Lewis. He couldn't have been nicer or more pleasant. He let us hit balls on the range even though the course itself was not yet open. And he allowed us to tee off about 11:30, even earlier than he'd thought he could. Conditions of the course were just fine. We had no snow problem anywhere. The greens were in the best condition of any course I've seen and played in the winter time. The fairways were brown but "lush" (my word) and the greens were rolling as true as you could hope. We had a wonderful time. In spite of all these good things, though, the main reason I will be anxious to go back will be because of the wonderful attitude of the pro. The course was in good shape. They gave us a 2:40PM tee time (following a tournament), which was a little later than we hoped, but it was fine. We check-in at 1:40PM with the pro-shop and we were told we should be on time, and they would let us know if that changed. Shortly after that we checked with the starter and he said the same thing. At 2:40PM we went to the first tee and the 2:30PM group were still there and said they were told that it could be another 30+ minutes wait. No one told us anything. They said they were told they could tee off on #10, so we joined them. It worked out ok, although when we made the turn at #1 it was a bit of an issue with others. We were told there would be a refreshment cart on the course, but apparently that service ended earlier in the day. But, the golf course was in good shape. The greens were challenging, and the rough was fairly long. Overall, for the price, it was pretty good value. The communication and coordination could have been better. read more

Love the golf course. Great value for money, with specials most days. Mostly flat with a small amount of water. Water is provided every 4 or so holes. Club house has a restaurant and bar (I have not tried it yet). As long as you repair pitch marks, I recommend this course for you. read more

Best municipal course on the planet. You will not believe it is city owned after enjoying a round of golf. Lush fairways, greens and what little bit of grass rough there is before you run into the native landscape. Very scenic and the practice facilities are more than adequate to warm up or work on your game. The folks that work in the various areas are typically very friendly and ready to help when needed. The only "negative" is the pace of play may be a bit slow if you end up behind non-locals who can't hit the ball very straight.
