Started off 2025 with a really fun bowling date night! Went to Bowlero in Columbia, MD and was happy to see there was a pretty full parking lot on a Wednesday evening. Played the unlimited bowling and shoe rental package for $19.99 a person and think it was worth every Penny! You could take your time between games and the lane didn't shut off before you could finish a frame. The vibe was fun with the music, huge tv screens and a diverse group of bowlers that ranged all ages. They also have half price arcade games on Wednesday nights but we didn't get that far haha. For the food, we ordered the Smokehouse burger and the Chicken Club Wrap, both with fries as the side, and both were delicious. We were surprised at how good and fresh everything was for a bowling alley. All of the staff were very nice and attentive. I've gone 9 times in the past 11 days with the season pass. I'm a chill guy, and the slow service due to low staff doesn't bother me because they are nice. A lot of lanes seem worse for wear. But bowling is a dying sport and its hard to keep a business up and running. Support your local alley and go more often. I went to this Bowlero with a bunch of people. It appears to be an older Bowlero. I've been to two other Bowlero's and this place is definitely more antiquated. While bowling the pin elevator which looked ancient stopped functioning roughly 3-4 times during our 3 set game. The staff were really nice. The food and drink were ok. The bowling balls have seen better days. And in comparison to the other two Bowlero's the lanes had no TVs playing sports which was such a nice feature of the other two places. One of my favorite locations! Me, my family, my friends, we come here allll the time! Almost daily. It's our favorite part of the day! I'll definitely have to create a second review after I get a few names because these people really make the experience so enjoyable. I always get greeted so nicely at the front desk and he is always so incredibly helpful and patient. I love how they keep the florecent lights off and keep the neon lights on, it creates a much more laid back and fun atmosphere with the music as well. Typically a server comes to our table (Loveeee Dominique! She's so sweet), but sometimes no one comes I'm not sure why but it's not really a big deal! You can order food/drinks/desserts! There are a few employees who seem annoyed to serve (I was told by some people I've been with) but other employees who are just the nicest. I definitely encourage stopping by this Bowlero if you're looking for a fun and laid back activity!! They also have a mini arcade. Everything needs to be improved! 1.) Not enough workers on staff 2.) Music is so loud you can't hold a conversation with your family and friends. 3.) Our bowling lane was horrible! Sticky floors that made us slide and bowling was nearly impossible. Our balls would not return (and we own our own ball). By frame 5 of our 1st game we told then 3 times that the balls were stuck. They went back and released the balls. Keep in mind we paid for 2 hours of bowling. It took us 35 min to get to frame 5 with 4 people bowling. They did add 15 min to our 2 hour session but the problem got worse and worse. So we asked for money back for 1 of our hours. The Manager said she could not reimburse us (although another employee said we could). We had the option to come back another time and use what we paid for in thr future, or she could move us. Since we won't come back here, we choose door number 2 (felt like we were playing Let's Make A Deal!) The Manager tried and was very apologetic. She gave us our foid for free...hence the 3 stars . Disappointed is an understatement as we wanted a nice afternoon with our grown sons who don't get together often. read more

This place is a complete mess. Over half of the lanes do not work (not exaggerating, I counted at least 16 of the 32 lanes as closed on Fathers Day with average wait times in excess of 70 minutes). The lanes that do work, are slow and often require a call to the front desk to have someone go reset something in the back. Lane 28 frequently counts wrong....think you got a strike, wrong, it is scored as a nine. Lane 32, last lane on the right.....the gutter sits higher than the alley midway down on the right side and you have a built in hidden bumper. I feel bad for the young people working there.....they are all super nice and are forced to be the face for the shit customer experience that is outside of their control. I would not recommend Bowlero when hosting an event. I was looking for a place to host my birthday party. In 2023, my birthday fell on a Monday; so I thought bowling would be perfect. Bowlero Columbia had a special on Mondays; $20 for unlimited bowling + shoes beginning at 8pm. I wanted to scout the place:). I visited Bowlero Columbia a month before to get a visual of a typical Monday night. At 7pm, all lanes were full. I learned from management that 81% of the lanes are reserved every Monday until 9pm by a league. This left 6 lanes for retail. Those 6 lanes were full at 7pm and naturally no one could not predict when they would leave. As non-league patrons were entering the bowling alley, they were immediately placed on a waiting list and made to wait. For my Monday birthday party, I did not want to have 24 people arrive at 8pm to have to wait and hope for a lane. This would be so embarrassing. I had people traveling from West Virginia, Georgia, and Delaware. Bowlero Columbia has this wonderful deal of unlimited bowling for $20 beginning at 8pm. Realistically, there are only 6 lanes available for the public since the league consumes the majority on Mondays. The next day, I called the event line and spoke with Kati Castellani, the Customer Service Manager. I shared that I wanted to reserve 4 lanes with six people per lane at 8pm. She billed me $785.06. No, you read that correctly. I shared with Kati Bowlero's Monday night deal of $20 for unlimited bowling after 8pm. I asked her to consider charging me $20 x 24 people ($480). I would understand an additional reservation fee. Kati was unwilling to work with me. Due to me getting closer to the date, I paid $800 for 24 people to bowl. This did not include food, drinks, or anything. This was $800 for 2 hours of bowling + shoes for 24 people. I will never patron Bowlero again. On the positive side: The day of my birthday was pretty awesome. The onsite staff were super nice, responsive, and attentive to our party's needs. We didnt have too many issues. Bowlero does have a bar. The drinks are a bit pricey, but they are good. Surprisingly, the bar has TVs so its also a good spot to watch Monday night football. read more

I went here with my girlfriend for a friend's birthday. the bowling experience itself was good, as were the food and drinks (if a little overpriced) but the arcade was not only incredibly overpriced, but the selection of games was genuinely terrible. only a few actual arcade cabinets to choose from, and the most appealing one (a space invaders themed light gun game) cost almost 2 dollars for less than a minute of playtime. If you do decide to come here I'd stick to bowling. read more

Clean establishment, waitress wasn't unpleasant, but they are a Bar and they will not give you tap water; they sell Aquafina 20 oz bottles and won't even refill the bottles you purchase from them for free. Although the decor was great for pictures, I don't think I'll be returning to this bowling alley. The service at the shoe/ check-in counter was horrible. We had never been to the alley before. When we tried to get shoes and figure out how to pay for the bowling, the woman behind the counter, who did not want to be there, treated us like it was our fault. Each sentence we had to get out of her seemed to exhaust her. When I tried to order a drink from the bar, the woman at the bar seemed overwhelmed. It didn't seem like she was usually behind the bar but she was trying her best. It was really backed up and took forever to get my drink even though the place was not THAT busy. They were understaffed, overwhelmed and overall did not provide adequate customer service. None of the staff looked happy to be there. read more

Poor / unfriendly service from one of the female employees (she always seemed bothered when we had to ask for an issue with the lanes to be fixed.) Several issues with the lanes - the scoring was off (sometimes it would give you 9 when you only knocked down 8; other times, it kept giving 1 point even though it was a gutter ball); the bowling balls weren't getting returned; and our session ended 3 frames into the last game we had started (and we had to ask it to get it fixed)...just to name a few of the problems when we most recently went this past weekend. Anyways, there's a summer pass deal going on where you get 3 free games daily from May 2nd until September 5th and shoe rentals are included. You must go between the hours when the pass is accepted at that location. Two options: 1) the pass - $64 for adults and it's only good for the one specific bowling location you choose at purchase. 2) the passport (which I bought) - $79 per adult, and it works at all participating locations. Good for Bowlero, AMF, Bowlmor, and Bowl America. Prices are about $20-25 less for kid passes & passports. The deal itself is great and worth it, even after just a few times of going! No hassle of paying day of. You just check in at the counter with your cards and get your shoes :) I'm just here to enjoy my summer games, so I still have to come back. I will say that I did have a better experience with service at a different location. read more

I took my gf here on valentines day and my card was decline ( I have money on my card ) so they did it again. I was told that both transactions were declined . My gf pays and then I get a notification stating I was charged 2x for the visit. I spoke with the cashier, he said it will fall off of my account in a few days because it was declined. It did not fall off so I disputed the transactions with my bank and today. A month later, it is saying that the charges are accurate via the transactions numbers. So bowlero received 3 pays for 1 visit from my gf and I , I would like to be refunded. And you all take accountability for your mistake. read more

This is my first yelp review. There was no notification of the price beforehand and it is surprisingly expensive. It was $11.98 per person per game and it was $85 for 3 games for 2 people. It's safe to say we didn't read the reviews before coming here. The place is nice. But it doesn't matter if the service is complete trash. One bartender. That's randomly taking orders. No counter to order food. So you have to wait for the one server that's wondering around and not really remembering what you need. Here's the fun part. In the middle of bowling, the TVs and music all turn off. They were showing the ufc fight which I was watching. So I go to the customer service counter service to ask what's going on with the TVs? The two guys look at me blindly and say what do you mean? Sirs, the 50 projection TVs at the end of the alleys that were all on are now off. What do you mean what do I mean? Sigh... My friends booked a party here. They didn't tell us it was a league here who has the option to have the music and TVs on. This was a bust. I bowlvat the Columbia Bowlero in the 50+ league on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM. Last week, my team arrived for our bowling league only to find a number of issues. First, four lanes were inoperable, preventing four teams from being able to bowl. Second, the screens on the lanes were not appropriately loaded and there were a number of technical problems with names and handicaps. Third, there does not seem to be anyone of authority in charge, thus the entire league was unable to bowl that day, with no prior notification. Throughout a number of years that this league has been in existence, there seems to be continuing maintenance issues as well as a lack of management authority. Since I am paying $15 per week for lane fees, I consider these continuing maintenance and management issues completely unacceptable. It would seem that the only areas that this bowling alley is concerned with are the bar and the arcade, which I understand are the most profitable parts of the bowling alley. read more

Look, bowling centers serve basically two different customer types - those that are casual bowlers looking for some fun, and those that treat bowling as a sport, to include participating in leagues and going to practice to improve their skill. If you are a casual fun time bowler, this is a pretty good place, with food and drink, including alcohol, available. Service depends on whether you go at times that are usually a bit busier (like most places in these post COVID days), but they seem to be really trying to improve things, including making repairs and starting to upgrade the seating area. The improvements should make things better for sport bowlers. I can't wait, especially for repairs to lane equipment which hit a low last year with lanes breaking down, ball returns damaging balls, call buttons disabled, scoring system problems, and lane reset buttons broken. I actually have seen them working to fix these which is a great sign. However, lane condition is a crap shoot for practice time (lanes are oiled for leagues). TIP for sporting bowlers: If you are practicing, your best bet is to either ask when lanes were last oiled, or ask for a lane that was played the night before by a league - my experience is they will do that for you - if you ask. If you don't ask you will likely get a "fun lane" which will have virtually zero oil - great if you want to hook the entire lane with a plastic ball, but worthless for meaningfull practice. This tip also works for league bowlers doing pre-bowling during the season. Have fun! read more

I went to Bowlero Columbia last weekend with my family and I want to first commend the staff on customer service. We visited 5/25 around 3pm. We ordered food, which was decent, but the staff were so attentive. My mom has an allergy to peppers and the manager came out to make sure that her customized order was due to an allergy made sure there were no peppers. Other staff members periodically roasted to make sure we did not need anything and to check to see if we were ok. I give this place a 4 because the food was just ok. We wanted to go bowling with the Family and trying to find a place during COVID restrictions. We settled on Bowlero Columbia, because their league play ended by 7:30 and we could get in afterwards. We were able to use our AMF Groupon to get a lane and shoes which was great! We had 4 adults and 2 children (4 years old and 5 months old). The 5 month old didn't bowl for some reason LOL. Best part for our 4 year old Granddaughter was they had dinosaur helper slides for the kids to use to help with bowling. They put the ball at the head and it rolls down their back out the bottom of the tail and down the lane. We were also able to easily set-up bumpers for her. We bowled 2 games and were all tired afterwards. We ordered the Sampler and a pie so everyone could eat. We had a pepperoni pizza pie which was pretty good. The crust had a slight buttery flavor and was crispy. Ample amount of pepperoni and good amount of cheese. The Sampler consisted of 3 chicken tenders, 6 cheesy breads, 6 chicken wingettes, 6 mozzarella sticks and fries. the mozzarella sticks were really good as well as the cheesy bread. The chicken wings were spicy but also good. the chicken tenders were my least favorite but they were still good, just a little dry which tends to happen with chicken tenders. Overall the food was typical bowling alley food, but pretty good. Our experience was great, the staff was friendly, the music was not too loud. They are only using every other lane and since we were placed at the end (lane 31) we felt like we were in our own safe space. Each lane has all the sizes you need for balls and each size is doubled so you don't have to wait for your ball to return before taking your next throw, if you didn't make a strike on the first go around :-) We would definitely return to this location when we have the bowling itch. read more

Made reservations for my family at Bowlero Columbia MD. First thing I noticed was cleanliness and it had no odor like other bowling alleys I've gone to. The staff was amazing, from the front counter staff, bar staff, servers and cleanup employees. I was very happily surprised. Our experience there was a blast. We ordered food and drinks and were highly satisfied . The music and ambiance for our Lane was appropriate for our liking and when I had an arcade issue Colern and her staff took care of us without issue. I came here to attend a private company party. It was a good location for the event due to cost and location. I really like the new look to this bowling alley. It needed an upgrade visually for years. The food was ok. I liked the veggie egg rolls and the wings. There was a good assortment of food options. Even if you're looking for salad options. The bar was small, but it did the job. I ordered a pitcher of beer and it was refreshingly cold. It poured at least 6 beers and the pitcher only cost me about $12. That was a pretty good deal. My only critique concerned the lane that my group was on. We were playing on lane 8 and it jammed up a few times. I know that that happens when you bowl. However, it happened enough that it got annoying. Having said that, the staff resolved the issue in a reasonable amount of time. Except for the last 5 minutes of our time. The lane jammed again so I used the call box but no one answered this time. Oh well. Overall today was fun and I like the new look! I'm certain I'll be back whether it's for work or with family and friends. (Side note: I've played in their new arcade on a previous visit. Its kind of like a tiny version of Dave & Busters or Main Event. The games are new and the area feels really fun! I'm sure any younger kids that don't want to bowl would enjoy the arcade.) read more
