The staff was super friendly. We were a group of 7 that walked in and we were assisted right away and were able to start playing immediately. There were different courses and that was fun to experience. The young man that guided us in the field was very friendly. We played for about 2 hours and played about 8 games. We definitely felt like we got our money's worth. Next time, I would likely reserve a group so we would only play with each other. Playing with the other walk one was a cool experience but it was hard to figure out who was in our group and who wasn't. Also, when I played before we had the objective that our team had to get from one side to the other. Here it was to get as many people out as possible. I like the former. read more

I've been returning here many times, and it's changed a bit from my last review, so I'll give an update. The staging area is slightly updated with more rentals and more spools for tables. Space for your gear is not an issue, my group of 4 fit comfortably on 2 spools even though there were several large parties there taking up a lot of space. The best thing about P3 is the safety. When you have games of 30 people running side by side with walk-ons all over, it can get insane. All the refs were professional and cared about the sport, listening to the players when they needed help and pausing games if need be. The most important rule is about masks past the staging area. A member of the opposing team took off their mask while we were switching sides and was booted form the park immediately. At P3, safety is the most important thing. It is the high safety standards and the knowledgeable staff that keeps me returning time after time. Not only is safety stressed, but the small details as well. A roaring campfire was THE BEST IDEA EVER. We played a game in the 20 degree weather for 5 hours and it was the campfire that gave us the constant strength to keep returning to the fields. Without the fire, I would have left within an hour due to the cold. Props to the person who thought of that. While I myself am not a young child, I have seen many young children coming here for parties and even walk-ons! I love seeing people get into the sport and the refs help them out significantly and give them tips. One ref even helped ease the stress of one child after seeing some intimidating walk-ons go to the field next to them. I had to chuckle when I heard the ref say he would personally shoot anyone who shot the kids. At the end of the game, the kids were bouncing up and down, covered in paint, and having a great time. No shooting from the ref happened and everyone stuck to their own field :P This was only my second walk-on game (excluding scenarios) and the players were awesome. I'm not talking about skill, but enthusiasm. Many players were new, and several others were obvious vets of the game. The higher skilled players never lit up the rentals, and the rental players followed the rules. Even as a relatively new-player (maybe 20 hours of playing under my belt), I could have a great time with players of no skill level or very advanced skill level. When my personal gun broke, the staff was very helpful and kind about attempting to fix it, and then gave me a rental. When my rental kept jamming (gotta love rentals), I was given a new rental, free of charge. Out of any of the paintball parks I've been to in Maryland, I go to P3 the most due to their safety, atmosphere, and staff. Can't wait to come back soon! read more

This location is not the actual Paintball supply store that runs this site. I was invited to a group gathering to go play some walk-on games. I had not played paintball before, but it was a fun experience overall. It wasn't too hard to find the place using google maps, but it is out in the middle of nowhere a bit. The only confusing part after reaching a dirt road (after passing a lot of warehouses) is where you reach an American Legion building. At this point, you have to take the dirt road to the right of this building and then you will see a cargo container that has been outfitted with a makeshift counter. Lots of parking in make-your-own-spot on the grass. Approach the counter on the side of the container that does not face the parking and you will see a bench with waivers to sign. Sign one before getting in line. Entrance fee was $25 and another $15 to rent a mask, extra canisters, and a gun. A case of the cheapest paint is $45 (2000 balls). It is advised to split one of these. I played with a friend from about 1030am to 230pm and we used probably 1800 rounds. Hours are from 10am-4pm, but they spent a lot of time from 10-1030/11am to get enough people ready to play and go over safety rules. They do do parties and separate groups, but there were a lot of us ready to do walk-ons games. A lot of people came and went throughout the day. Expect to see a lot of current or ex military people at this location. Even had some kids around 12 or so playing with us. Obviously you get really experienced and pro players and a bunch of newbies all trying to beat each other. The staff in their orange shirts did a decent job of dividing teams and somewhat making them fair. The only downside of all of this is that the only way to tell teams apart is a piece of dark blue duct tape. I think a lot of people were getting shot in the back from friendly fire. Not cool. They should try to find lighter colored duct tape for this to help as the entire lot is forested. There are several fields here, where some courses are pretty small and some are a bit larger and more fun. Spool City was probably the least fun of the bunch as it had a bunch of large round wire spools on their sides all over the place. The bunkers are only big enough for 2. Other fields (arenas, not really fields) had other bunkers made of broken buildings, trees, fences, etc.) I heard they were to have some 2-story building arena but never got to see it with my time there. Some of the games were really short...like 5 or 10 minutes, but we always switched sides as some starting points allowed for more cover than others and they had marked starting zones. A guy complained and the staff guy (Dumplin) tried to intermix some longer games. We did mostly team shooting, but we also did some capture the flag. They were big on safety and ensured that people tried to keep their goggles on pretty much at all times on the field. They did fog up quite a bit, but they allowed for some time between games to place guns down on the ground and allow a safe cleaning session. Serious rules of being kicked out for 30 minutes and then for the rest of the day if you're caught with your goggles off. They also tried to enforce that the guns had their bags over the barrels before returning to the safe zone by the entrance. They didn't really advertise it well, but I saw people buying water and gatorade from them. Not sure on prices, but we ended up bringing our own water bottles and left them in the car. Another party there had like subway platters and such brought in, but it would be advised to bring your own water and food since its also so expensive to play. There are no restaurants that I remember passing on the way from I695, only a gas station. I also heard they sell smoke and paint grenades for about $11 or $12 each. I do think they try to enforce you to buy their paintballs only for use on their fields. Not sure if that is standard practice, but that seemed unfair considering you're paying admission anyway and the paint prices are kinda high, so reusing what you have left over from place to place should be okay. Professional paintballs are 65 for a case. Overall I had a good time and was able to take out some people while getting shot a few times. I'd prob go back with the same group sometime, but laser tag is still more appealing to me. No mask to inhibit my vision. read more

Did have a good time and the staff was friendly but the only thing that I hated was when I got home I had several small ticks on my foot. I don't think I will ever go back just because of that, the area is infested with ticks, I had a group of 10 people and we all had ticks after. read more

I truly feel this facility deserves five stars. This is due to a number of reasons, but chief among them is this establishment's ability to walk the line between safety and friendly atmosphere. I came back into the sport this year from nearly a decade of hibernation. My job put me close to their store one day so I stopped by and talked to them to get a crash course on new products and everything that's changed since 2007 when I paused my playing. They were friendly, liked to talk paintball and gun tech, and didn't try to sell me any products I didn't ask about. I bought a few necessities to replace damaged items in my gear bag and turned in my tank for rehydro and a new regulator. Once the tank came back I hit the field that weekend. The field is essentially speedball in the woods. Multiple courses with man made barriers under a forest canopy. It's a nice mix of rec ball with speed and tournament qualities. This also lends itself to a good setting for scenario events, which they host often throughout the year. The staff was very nice to work with, they resident gun guru fixed my Mini, free of charge, when I found out the new Tank regulators have higher flow and made my settings impossible to take lower than 330fps. The guys at the field were a solid mix of veterans and newcomers, all more interested in having fun more than proving their worth. The gamut ran from Tippmann's up to Luxe's and everything in between for gear, and skill level was high on average. Now here's the most important part I feel: The refs were paintball refs, not Highschool summer job kids and not sophomoric people who want to be buddies more than refs. Their number one concern was safety, which means a one strike rule for players if they take their mask off on the field or forget to put a barrel bag on in the staging area. This is also only for unintentional negligence, intentional carelessness will get you booted immediately. Everyone at the field was told this upfront and understood what it meant, so the end result is almost nobody had an issue and the environment was safe for play the whole day. With everyone conscious of safety it made for a much friendlier environment than some other fields I used to play at. When there's less yelling, tension and stress the void is typically filled with jokes, laughter and enjoyment. I screwed up with my barrel bag(even though I did remember to turn my gun off at least)and they called me out in a professional way, recognizing I was a vet who was just getting my muscle memory back, and that was it for the day. I've been playing consistently at this field for two months now and I have a great time everytime I come out. I believe this is a great field for the true spirit of the game at the recreational level and look forward to many more fun weekends. read more

Pasadena Paintball Park AKA - P3 After a good many years away from paintball a friend of mine asked me to go out and play for a day at P3. After meeting up at the store (Pasadena Paintball Supply) we drove the short 10 minutes over to their fields. Not hard to find just follow the signs and you will end up in the parking are (a roped off grass area). When you arrive you will find a mix of new comers, regulars, teams and staff just off of the parking area either signing in, picking up paint and rental gear or getting a safety lecture (The area is very serious about the staff and players safety). After all of set up is complete groups will head up a short trail and stop to be split into teams (and get warned one last time that your Mask SHALL remain on). Walk on players and groups stay separate and the walk on teams will get divided up and marked (Arm bands of Tape). Don't worry if the teams are miss matched the ref's will switch them up after a round. A round means that both teams get to play both sides of the field changing up the bunkers. They have several woods ball fields, 1 hyper ball field (a faster game like Air Ball you have seen on TV or Movies) and an offense / defense castle. The area has rental gear, sells drinks and munchies as well as various paintball gear (Batteries, Barrel socks, some markers etc - this is limited as the store is just down the road). They require you to buy field paint - this is a safety issue as some paints do not break well and can cause welts etc. The prices on the paint are good, even compared to the web, and they usually have a range of prices and quality available. Since I had such a great time during the visit I have been back more than a few times and here are a few more notes: While safety is job one for the ref's they are very fair on the field and are more than willing to help out anyone who has a question. The owner is there many days and is involved in the fields operation - he is not afraid to lend a hand to players and listens to everyone. The regulars are great to talk to and also help out newer players (by helping with gear or tactics). I have been to both the store and fields and both experiences have been less then steller. I arrived at the field and paid for admission and paint (I had to ask due to a price list nowhere to be found) the paint prices are pretty much average, 45 and up depending on if you want the "good stuff" or "merely acceptable". I waited well over an hour for a game to begin and after playing a few games realized that all the fields feel exactly the same. The staff seemed less then adequate, some were working on rental equipment but most were more interested in talking to their friends that came to play. All in all this place is pretty average at best, I would only go if you live near by. read more
