My wife and I live in the largest independent living apartment (3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1810 sq ft) and we require very little support so I can't comment on negative comments made about catered living, memory care or health care. We have not used any of these facilities. We continue to be critical of the food and service in the dining room during our one meal a day. While the food has improved somewhat since we moved in, many of the dishes are bland and boring and the dining room is perpetually short staffed. The young (teens and early 20s) servers work hard but there are not enough of them and they are by no measure professionals. The pay is not good enough for that. There is a curious difference in the food service options between different accommodations. Independent living arrangements not attached to the Gardens building are not required to have a food plan but they can pay by the meal if they choose. Gardens Building residents cannot drop the plan. At one time I explored trying to get out of the 1 meal a day plan but that option was not available. In reality, I don't want to cook 7 days a week even though I have a lovely kitchen. Everything I have said in prior reviews still applies. The dining room service still earns a C and the health inspection grade is just "Good" a value that has not changed since we got here.

All staffs were friendly and professional, including the community's van drivers, especially the young man in a flower Hawaii shirt, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I enjoyed my time visiting all four communities, Weatherly Inn is my favorite, excellent retirement facilities, beautiful and upscale. Merrill Gardens & Chateau Valley Center are great too. What a fun way to explore four wonderful communities in the area, learn about pricing, amenities, the active retirement lifestyle, and walked away with a better sense of what senior living in Renton has to offer.

I vetted many assisted living facilities, with the help of a place for mom, and independently searched others on my own, all doing tours and serious meetings. My father is very critical and I knew in order for this to work I would have to find the right spot. Immediately I know this was the spot after touring many. The staff have helped me and my father so much, from my emotional downs, to all the logistics of this change. He uses both their physical therapy and their assisted living that is available. All have been great! Because it is independent the cost is so much more affordable but still it offers everything an assisted living facility offers. The place really is a gem and you must stop in before you make any decisions for your loved one. They do it right. One thing I found when touring is I paid very close attention to the residents, where they happy, these residence are very happy, the other day they where dancing during the Friday happy hour with a live singer songwriter they had for the social hour. It is such a sweet community. Also I would notice if the staff were happy and proud of where they worked, immensely, and they help so much. To sum up my review, which I don't review typically, but have so much gratitude for my dads new home I had to, the one thing my Dad has praised me on since this life change for him is, "You really found me a good spot to live." So thank you to the staff and to this community for being a haven for us during this time. So much gratitude.

I applied on June 25th 2026 and spoke directly to Tonya the manager. I followed up with Tonya on Monday June 29th 2026 and Tonya told me that I was approved. She wrote the mailing address on a sticky note in order to change my mailing address which I did effective July 20th. She said the apartment is not ready as it needs paint and a few fixes. On June 30th 2026 I met Bingrong on Facebook dating app and met in person on July 2nd. On July 29th I took my fiancé Bingrong to see if she likes the apartment. Upon touring the apartment it was still under construction because their maintenance guy quit. Tonya suggested to see a different apartment that was ready and it didn't have steps to accommodate my disability. We took a look at it and we liked it. I was concerned about potential problems with my mail but Tonya said she will talk to the mailman and he will switch the apartment numbers. Tonya provided Bingrong with my application in order to add a second household member and send the application to see if she qualifies. The manager said Bingrong must submit the application by 7:00am on July 30th which is the day to move in. We submitted the application around 11:00pm on July 29th. I called on Thursday July 30th to find out if she reviewed Bingrong application. Tonya said she has more important stuff to do and added that as far as she is concerned I don't have an apartment anymore because I didn't disclose my wife name on the application. I told her that I never met Bingrong until July 2nd. I said I never new Bingrong at the time of application. Also, I said that Bingrong is not my wife yet and we are planning to merry on August 4th. She said I lied therefore, no apartment for me. I told her that I already gave my 20 days notice and July 31 is my last day at Meridian Court. I told her that I will be homeless because of her illegal and unethical action. She said it's not her problem and I said see you in court. I also told her that I was already approved and she could just refuse to add Bingrong.

The property is supposed to be "controlled access" but there are holes cut in the fence by the homeless occupants of a nearby encampment which abuts next to the railroad tracks. The trains are a HUGE nuisance with the noise, fumes and constant idling airbrake releases. Management is told about the holes and they just look away and say "we are getting bids", weeks turn into months and nothing is done. Man gates can be pulled open from the outside, talking about loss of control access. This is supposed to be a non smoking property but the smell of people smoking weed and tobacco hangs in the air like a noxious cloud. Some residents don't even try to hide their smoking. Dogs are allowed to run around off leash and crap without being picked up., even though there are dog parks located on property. I enjoy the activities and some great neighbors.
