I'm writing this from a lunch experience with two children, so it's a little bias and if I reviewed it from a 'night out with adults' perspective it'd probably be a 5-star. My wife and I loved our food. I got their chicken and waffles and thought the spicy chicken paired great with the sweet waffles. The waffles were prepared PERFECTLY - soft but almost crisp. Just delicious! My daughter got their macaroni and my son got their hot dog. Neither were big fans, but I thought both of their plates looked good. Our waitress was good and tenantative. My complain really just comes from the price. For my family of 4 with nothing special but entries and drinks, our bill was over $50 for lunch. That, in my opinion, is a lot. The kids meals are just too expensive for what you get I think. If just me and my wife had gone I think I'd have given the place 5-stars, but spending that much lunch just left me - eh. 4-stars. Was in town for a work trip with another coworker and we decided to come here. It was a beautiful day outside and they actually had some high top tables out front and we were able to sit outside. Our waitress was so nice and welcoming. We ordered the poutine fries for an appetizer. While I wouldn't consider them poutine fries (they use BBQ instead of gravy and no cheese curds) they were still tasty. For dinner I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waitress warned me that the sauce was a little spicy (which I appreciate since I hate spicy) so I opted for that on the side. Overall it was a good meal... crispy chicken was a little dry but still good. The waffles I thought had a food taste but a weird consistency - maybe they weren't freshly prepared? Overall I was happy with my meal but probably wouldn't order again. I also ordered the flirtini which was delicious. My coworker ordered the Chicago dog with slaw and he was happy with it. He also ordered a kentucky mule which was delicious and very strong. Overall happy with the experience and it's a great locally owned option which is hard to find in the area (I like to avoid chains when traveling). I would give the food a 3 or 3.5 star but brought it up to a 4 for service. read more

Came here expecting great things based on the reviews, I took everyone's advice and got the signature burger everyone was raving about with Mac and cheese, bacon and bbq sauce on it! Turned out, it's not one beef patty , it's two less than 1/4 pound Pattie's so they do t have to ask you how you want it cooked and so they cook fast. Only problem is it still took 30 minutes to get our simple order out, my salad came out with the entree, the bacon was 90% fat and grissle, and the two burgers were burnt to a crisp, more carbon than meat. New place in my hometown. Full bar of craft beers and lots of bourbon. Nice menu of upscale burgers, hot dogs, salads, and apps. We tried the chips and queso for our appetizer. My husband had the guacamole burger with fries and I tried the mild cauliflower wings. My husband said the burger was very good. The wings were very spicy for mild. My daughter finished those and I tried her French onion soup. The soup was different than any others I've tried as it had mac and cheese in it. We finished with a freshly baked s'mores cookie. OK, so, on what might be the last beautiful weather day of the year... I went for a bike ride along the great Miami river trail and worked up quite an appetite! Not being from this area, I needed some yup! I explored the restaurants in the area and the number one rated was Bourbons kitchen. I checked out their menu and found lots of great options! I ended up selecting the fish tacos And the bonus chicken wings. Well I waited for my order, I asked the bartender to make a recommendation on some bourbon/Rye. He asked me what I liked and I told him that I was drinking bullet rye and he recommended basil Aidans so I excepted the challenge and asked for 1 ounce. I had some questions about this tincture and the bartender was more than willing to oblige. I really enjoyed my experience, short as it was, sitting at the bar. I will most certainly be back! Now let's talk about the food! The Boneless chicken wings would've been better if I didn't order them to go. The to go order had the sauce on the side. I'd go back and dine in next time. . It's small but clean and cozy. We were surprised when we walked in on a sat at lunch time - that it was not very busy. After we ate, we were even more surprised because it should be packed all the time! The food is really good - we had burgers and fries and it was the best burger on sourdough that I have had in some time. No salt on the table for the fries - then I realized they were so perfectly seasoned I didn't need salt. The special sauce stuff is really good, didn't even ask for ranch! My daughter and I had lunch here yesterday. I'm glad my daughter suggested this place since we find it difficult to find good food when I visit with her in Middletown. It's a small place that is more bar than restaurant. Their menu is more interesting than the standard bar food. We ordered the salsa and chips appetizer since we were both starving. Although, after our meal came I realized we'd never finish the salsa and chips. The salsa was good. It doesn't have any heat, though. My daughter ordered the Chicken Tenders platter. You pick your sauce and she picked the Grippos Encrusted. It comes with fries and coleslaw. I ordered the Gyro Tacos that comes with Mexican Broccoli slaw. We both thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The Mexican Broccoli slaw is unique and quite tasty. My daughter has been here before and said that the "Dynamite Shrimp and the Cauliflower Wings appetizers are amazing." I saw that they also have an extensive bourbon and whiskey list and a list of interesting sounding cocktails. I'll definitely have to stop in some evening for another meal and some cocktails. Really good burgers here from my experience so far. The Bernie Mac, featuring BBQ sauce, bacon, and of course, mac & cheese, is especially tasty. The prices aren't cheap, but if you're determined to get a really good burger, far above your typical drive-thru window experience, then it's easier to justify the expense here. We weren't thrilled with the cauliflower wings, which seemed only partially breaded, and the chicken & waffles got mixed reviews from our group, so your results may vary when you stray from the burger side of the menu.
