Had our 5th wedding anniversary dinner and it was an amazing experience! First, we had a late reservation at 08:30 pm since our massage at the grand traverse spa ended at 8pm, yet they still took our reservation, did not rush us at all..we didn't realize by the time we left it was 10:15 ...Everyone that came by our table greeted us a happy anniversary. The waiter we had was so helpful and had a couple good suggestions that suited our taste. Our server was so nice, she was also very helpful and made sure we always had room on our table and that we had clean silverware for the next course. The manager comes by to make sure we had everything we need and that we are happy with our food (they were all delicious and really good portions) We received a complimentary appetizer from the chef and a complimentary dessert from the management (which was great!). Service is OK nothing bad nothing extra ordinary. The food I would honestly give it a 3 1/2 but will rate it a 4 because the desert was good, Took some pics will upload them when i get back to Las Vegas. I had seared tuna appetizer was OK nothing extra special. The french onion soup was tasty good. I also ordered the chicken and asparagus. The chicken was tasty and but due to the different thickness was cooked just right and close to tough in the thin thickness. The 2 other people who had dinner with me would rate it a 3. I'm at a solid 3.5, but I'm rounding up for the excellent service I had here. It's a Steakhouse, and us customers are picky with our steakhouses so I'm being honest with my opinions here. Let's just get to the point and not drag this review on. Bread basket- not bad for free bread, sounds weird, but I prefer a bread service I'm charged for because it's usually a better bread/butter/oil. Shrimp cocktail-6 of them medium sized, and decent quality. Pork belly app- good, somewhat fatty (of course it's pork belly) slaw served with pork was bland. Steaks-cooked perfectly and definitely worth the price, and you get 2 sides included. Strawberry shortcake-pretty good. Carmel Carrot Cake-better than the Strawberry shortcake. My Belvedere Dirty Martini was excellent, but $24??? Pretty sure I can buy an entire bottle of Belvedere for $30. All alcohol/ wine here seems to have a significant markup. I would give 10 stars, but was only allowed 5! This was my second visit to this restaurant. The first time, several years ago, was blah. Apparently, they have a new chef since then, and he knows what he is doing! Our experience was exceptional in every way. From the greeting by Frank Deloy, the manager, to the utmost professionalism and knowledge of our waitstaff, Lindsey and Alicia. The food was nothing short of excellent, my steak was cooked perfectly. My husband had the monthly special, Italian Cippino, which he gobbled down! Beautiful presentation of shrimp cocktail, and wedge salad and a burrata salad, and the creme brûlée were to die for! I will be coming back, for sure, and would recommend to anyone! We spent a bit of money that evening, but it was worth every penny. read more

Excellent prime rib! It was fall off the bone good! Dueling moose and Black Forest cake were worth ordering. Server was very attentive and kind. Atmosphere was very appropriate for an upper class steakhouse. I highly recommend this place if you have some cash to spare. read more

We had the harvest Prix Fixe on Saturday and it was delicious! We started w/ the crab cake appetizer, one of the best I've ever had (and I used to vacation in MD). The salad was spinach w/ roasted beets, sunflower seeds, Gorgonzola and a balsamic vinaigrette...wonderful then came braised sort ribs with more roasted root veggies. Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake w/ a bourbon caramel sauce. Great price, service and amazing quality meal. read more

Bourbon 72 is an upscale steakhouse located inside of Turtle Creek Casino. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the week you can usually walk in and be seated, but occasionally they are busy and you may have to wait. I would recommend calling for a reservation if you know you are planning to eat here, especially on the weekends. The atmosphere is romantic, the décor is beautiful, and the seating is very comfortable. They have recently changed their menu and I have to say, "The food is awesome". (not so much the bread) My husband ordered the filet, and he says it is one of the best around. He also had the au gratin potatoes and loved them. So far I have tried the crab cakes (yummy!) then the Alaskan king crab legs with a side of their new cream corn (spectacular) then a sweet potato pecan tart (OMG this is phenomenal). My daughter had a filet and baked potato then cheesecake. She was very pleased. The service here is always wonderful, and thanks to our discount when we use our player's club card, the bill is always reasonable. Jessica is an amazing waitress, always willing to accommodate any special requests we might have. If you get a chance to eat here, I would highly recommend it. read more

This has been an excellent reinvention of what was a tired and overpriced steakhouse. The Delmonico steak and crab legs, while expensive, were truly some of the best I've ever had. Georgia, our bartender, was very attentive and wonderful. Their bar is ridiculously well stocked, and their wine selection is one of the best in northern Michigan. Make Bourbons 72 a stop on your food tour. One final note... Frank, their manager, was very personable and made us feel at home. Thank you for a great dining experience! read more

I say, save your money and please dont order their ridiculous seafood tower appetizer. First, it comes in this huge serving tower that cannot fit on a table, we were only 2 at a table for 4, dont know how they would have placed that giant server on the table if there were 4 seated. The giant server only makes this $28 appetizer look cheap n cheesy, oh, its $28 pp. It is the skimpiest seafood n was tasteless, we ordered it for 2, thank goodness they only had enough for one and $19 for a 5 shrimp cocktail was also overpriced. wish there was 0 star rating for this place. literally the worst dining experience ever. we booked this place on Sat night via opentable, while no note or reminder to let us know there might be a 2 hours wait just to get into the building. so we showed up a little bit early which normally people do (reservation at 9:30pm, we got there like 9:15ish). saw a huge wait line outside of the casino, then we decided to try the hotel side since we were not going to gamble, doesnt make sense just wait 2 hours for dinner, and the restaurant closes at 10. the hotel side told us nobody could access that door unless youre the hotel guests. so we walked 10 mins back to the casino side and tried to reach out to the restaurant to see if they can do something since we were there only for dinner. the guy, which we were told is a manager, very unprofessional, rudely told us, sorry, we are not going to bring you in, if you can't make it in 15mins, then we will cancel your reservation, the restaurant will be closed. at this point, we had no car (took a lyft there) to take us back in town, and no where to eat. oh forgot to mention, that was my birthday dinner. my point is this, totally understand your policy during Covid-19, but seriously cannot make a phone call or send us an email since you have both info on hand, just simply let us know the situation, we would love to be there a little bit earlier. can't imagine a restaurant is managed by a so called "manager" will get any success. good luck guys if you want to be treated poorly like this. there are tons nice restaurants in town. just save your time and trouble, skip this place. horrible horrible. still making me sick even thinking about that night. ewww. We had a TERRIBLE experience with Bourbon 72 in Traverse City, MI (Acme). We went to dine while on vacation for my wife's birthday this past Saturday night. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation via Uber as to be responsible and not drink and drive. There was a line with over 150+ people standing outside the entrance for the Casino in which the restaurant is located in. We asked the person at the front of the line if there is a way to get in for the restaurant only, they told us no, rudely I might add. We walked around to the hotel entrance, which was a 10 minute walk. We we told we cannot enter through that entrance unless we are hotel guests. We called the restaurant and told them we had been denied entry in both entrances. They said if we don't make it in the next 15 minutes, they are going to cancel our reservation and are closing. We told them we have no way to get in and we were not able to get an Uber back and were essentially stranded at this point. We had no way to make it in the Casino to wait as the line was about a 2 hour wait to get in. At this point there were over 200 people in line and buses of parties being dropped up for what looked like bachelor and bachelorette parties. We asked them if they can help us get a ride and they said no, try googling for a taxi. We were left stranded for almost 2 hours with no help from either the Casino, restaurant or the hotel. We ended up having to walk to a nearby gas station offering people cash to get a ride back. Awful ending to an otherwise great trip. read more

I went there on August 12th. I have been there several times in the past the food and service were excellent. Unfortunately since they reopened things aren't great. The place looks beautiful but that is about it. The service was terrible, people that came in after us were eating dessert before we even got our dinner. The filets that were ordered at our table ordered medium/medium rare came out beyond well done. The short rib lasagna tasted like Dinty Moore lasagna it was $35 BTW. I only took a few bites and couldn't eat anymore...got sick the next day. The other person at the table had the same thing and also got sick. They did take all the food off our bill...we paid for our drinks and tipped our waitress. It will take a long time for me to go back. I will try it again at some point but it will be at least 6 months to a year. So many great places to eat in the TC area it won't be an issue finding a nice dining experience. read more

Bourbon's 72 was recently renovated. Absolutely beautiful and the crab cakes are to die for.

Server Aaron was professional and attended to us in a way that met our needs, but was not intrusive. Consistent with the service we often receive at bourbons. The food was. . . Well. . . OK. Like many high end casino restaurant a good meal if comped, but if paying full price (we were discounted but not comped) kinda underwhelming. I had filet, maybe 1/2 a temperature over done but acceptable, wife had stuffed shrimp. Again OK, but for $39 three shrimp Al a carte you need to really impress. If you get comps from casino host, better than we have experienced at other Michigan casino, but if paying many better options in Tc. read more

Have been here several times in the past and was excited to go for restaurant week. Only give two stars based on good experiences in the past. Based on this visit would just be one star. Waited 20 minutes to get our drinks (barely made it at the same time as the appetizer). An hour and 20 minutes for the main course and it was terrible. Supposedly a "prime beef tenderloin". It was over cooked and had 0 flavor. The crab on top was fishy and tasted past its prime. The "potato croquettes" were a glorified hash brown with no seasoning. My son had a pork chop that was completely charred (burnt) on outside and not cooked through on the inside. Service was inattentive (wine glass was never refilled from bottle by waitress always by us - also did not know how to serve wine which should be a given in a high end restaurant, had to ask repeatedly for next glass for my MIL who had ordered a wine flight) and the restaurant was not even full. read more

I do not mind paying high prices for good food. I ordered half a slab of ribs and my husband ordered a steak, both were very chewy ,the food was cold. The best part of the meal was the sides, brussels sprouts and potatoes. Please do not waste your money, very bad food. read more

Not worth the price! This was my first time here, however prior to the remodel my husband had been here and raved about it. It was a Sunday night so it was not busy. To start we ordered the crab cakes which we good and the best part of our dinner. I ordered the porterhouse cooked medium rare. However, it came out medium well and was not the thick piece of steak I was expecting from a steakhouse. I did not send it back as it was edible but not what I expected. My husband ordered the filet and it was cooked correctly and he enjoyed it, however he said he could have gone to Outback and got the same thing. In addition to our steaks we ordered asparagus and a baked potato to share. We got 5 prices of asparagus and apparently they are a dollar a piece. With our food and about a $20 bottle of wine our bill came out to be about $120 without tip. We've gone to many steakhouses ranging from Roast in Dtown to Outback and this place is way over priced for the quality of food. My husband said the food was not what he remembered. For the quality of food I would have been content paying $60-70 for the food alone. Sounds like since the remodel this has been a common theme. With so many places to eat in TC I wouks skip the costly Bourbons. read more

I have been here before and it was good. Things have changed for the worse. Better food can be found at the buffet in the same casino. The coconut scallops did not taste fresh. They looked like someone rolled a scallop in coconut shavings then blow torched some of it black. The ribs were cold, sauce was decent even after a reheat. The chicken oscar was dry, looked like chili dog sauce. It was my girlfriends birthday dinner (part one anyway!) so I did not say much b/c she wanted a chill scene. They do have chef tours out of the same kitchen and those are great. read more
