[[HIGHLIGHT]]Amichal is a truly romantic and beautiful little gem! Although the place is small, they've managed to create an elegant and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped into something special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was outstanding our waitress was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. We actually think she was also the bartender, and she made our evening feel even more lovely and memorable. From the moment we walked in, we felt special because of the way we were treated. We were seated at a lovely table and ordered two desserts: the Hazelnut Tart and the Crème Brûlée with Raspberry Purée, along with two mochas. The Hazelnut Tart was absolutely divine! Every single bite was better than the one before. My husband really enjoyed the Crème Brûlée, saying the raspberry gave it a delicious twist. The mochas were both great, although we noticed a difference in strength , mine was a bit stronger while his was more balanced, which was slightly disappointing but not a deal-breaker. Overall, it was such a lovely experience. The ambiance, the desserts, the drinks, and especially the exceptional service made us feel so valued and welcomed. We're definitely coming back to try the food next time!

Amicable was wonderful! My husband and I went for during our anniversary trip and were impressed with how well our dishes were made. The octopus was tender and my husband really enjoyed the tuna tartar special appetizer. I will say that there was very little burrata on my salad, which I was disappointed on compared to the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was prompt but not overbearing and it was nice to sit outside with the ceiling heater on, which we decided after the AC was blasting inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall a really nice visit. I would come back for another special occasion.

This has been one of our favorites in TC for many years! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love sitting on the patio, which they heat on evenings like tonight where the temp was 50*[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is varied and regularly updated, from appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and sides...it's all amazing! This evening, we shared the smoked walleye buckwheat crepe, with lemon horseradish aioli, pickled veg, and fresh dill. (Pictured is the crepe cut in half for each of us) Phenomenal salad tonight, which we also split (pictured), of Interwater Farm Grilled Peach, fresh herbs and shoots, sweet corn, smoked bacon, house-made ricotta with a Muskatel vinaigrette. Need we say more?! Hubby had the grilled Sakura pork chop (pictured) with a hot honey gastrique, charred cabbage, and green tomato relish. Not your ordinary pork chop, for sure! I enjoyed the grilled airline chicken breast seasoned with garlic and herbs de Provence (pictured), Dijon cream, buttermilk mash and fresh, crispy green beans. The chicken was SO juicy and flavorful! Our server, Amanda, was the best! All in all, another memory making dinner!

The food was amazing and timed perfectly. Our server was informative and suggested the perfect entree. We had the country pate which was good and paired well with the grainy mustard. We then split the asparagus salad which the kitchen kindly divided on two plates. The salad was so fresh and good! Then we split the pork chop which was tender and bursting with unique flavors in the accompaniment of the sides. This was definitely was one our favorite meals. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full to try any this time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute atmosphere and in better weather there are some outdoor tables[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Nice place to have a meal in downtown TC. We didn't have a reservation, but were still able to walk in and be seated right away during peak dinner hours. Our table was towards the back, near big windows that let a lot of light in. The restaurant has cute french bistro decor and a relaxed ambiance. For drinks, I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a few options for non-alcoholic cocktails - I settled on the watermelon spritz and it was very refreshing. For food, I ordered the salmon, but requested no butter or salt. It was supposed to come with black rice, and to their credit, they were honest and told me it had been pre-prepared with butter and salt, so switched it with potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and the other members of my party really enjoyed their dishes too, including dessert.

Another cute restaurant right in the heart of downtown Traverse City, located right next door to the State Theatre! We got a perfect street parking spot right outside the restaurant on Front Street, which was also super convenient, but I'd definitely expect that to not be the case during the summer, warm months when TC is overrun with tourists, so be forewarned that you'll probably need to find parking elsewhere further away, but there's plenty throughout the downtown area. The inside of the restaurant has a cozy, upscale feel to it. The lights are dim, the bar is surprisingly small, there's an open kitchen concept so you can see them cooking away, and there are tables all the way to the back where there are giant windows, giving you a prime view of Grand Traverse Bay. We came with a big party and I'd say this place isn't super well suited for larger parties. We had a party of 7 and their tables fit 6 comfortably, so they put a chair at the head of the table, which was pretty awkward because it was half into the walkway where waiters and customers were walking by throughout our entire dinner. There was also a bit of an issue in the restaurant and their online reservation system where it hadn't captured the correct amount within our party when our friend who had reserved it had changed the party size. The online system had confirmed the change, but the restaurant hadn't received the update so couldn't account for a larger party than 7 (we had tried to up it to 8). Food-wise, it was delicious! All of us really enjoyed our food. I got the mushroom stroganoff, which was divine! If you're a fan of mushrooms, you will definitely be a fan of this like I was! The different mushrooms offered different textures and the flavors were all so delicious, layered, and satisfying, without being too heavy or too creamy. They are also known for their raspberry crème brûlée and I'm a huge fan of crème brûlée so it was a no brainer that I had to order it! If I'm being honest, it didn't taste any different to me than any other crème brûlée I've had, but that also just means I enjoyed it a ton since this is one of my favorite desserts! All in all, a great meal and a great time with friends!

Returned to Amical for the Table D'Hôte dinner special and had a wonderful time! A great selection of craft brews from Bells, appetizer, small serving main course, and ice cream all for $29! Even though the portions were smaller, you are definitely filled by the end with all of the food! The Hanger Steak was delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare with a balsamic reduction served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The perfect excuse for an early dinner! Would definitely come back to try more items on this menu. As always, the wait staff was fantastic and provided excellent service to me, my wife, and our one year old who happily enjoyed coloring with the crayons provided by the restaurant.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also had a view of the Bay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The flavors of the food were so subtle and interesting, and the entrees were prepared to perfection! The service was literally impeccable! We live in NYC but if I'm ever back in Traverse Amical will definitely be on my list!

My boyfriend and I made a reservation at amical while visiting in Traverse City because of the rave Google reviews. The food was pretty good, the spaghetti didn't have much flavor unfortunately. The octopus and duck were good! I don't know if the price of the food matches the quality and flavor of the dishes, personally. It took about 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server and as someone in the restaurant industry, that can be a bit disappointing but I also understand that it was busy so I know to show grace in those moments. Overall, I would recommend amical, but it's not the best place I've been to in TC.

We wanted to book one fancy dinner while in the Leelanau/GA/Leland/TC area - and I'm so glad this…read morewas our pick!! While we love great food, we are not "foodies" who do well with super modern/unique takes on classics - and after perusing many menus of different restaurants in the area, we felt like Blu was the right mix of fancy but delicious and classic and we were not disappointed! Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries! Staff is attentive, kind, and always checking to make sure you're taken care of. Overall, yes it's pricey, but for the delicious food, view, overall fanciness - I think it's justified and worth it for a special occasion! We would love to come back in the future.
