Small and quaint. Make a reservation to this wonderful French experience. Our service was very personal and very informative . We had a bottle of white and multiple courses were lined up!! Amazing presentations of the food, especially fell in love with the Beet Salad. Intimate and Adult ambience

French Cuisine and relaxed atmosphere with my choice of duck, lovely iceberg salad with sun dried tomatoes and homemade ranch dressing and others had the nosettes, whitefish which was a little dry, and hangar steak. We might have been really impressed because we enjoyed 2 Bottles of Pauillic Bordeaux - their special wine with grapes grown on gifted property, decanted in swimming pool sized bowl/glass and we thought it was worth it. Shane did an excellent job of serving us - showing up in anticipation of our needs. Not to be forgotten is the escargot - to die for! and the beet soup - which was bland. Desserts were wonderful, blueberry crisp, and the chocolate cake in Phyllo.

This will be a brief review. Food was okay. Not the best but not the worst. Service was good. Duck breast was okay, sauce was sweet not balanced. Duck fat could have rendered a bit more. Cook was medium as requested. We were a party of four and our main complaint is the evening was a humid 80 degrees. No air, windows open and gnats everywhere. We were literally swatting them throughout our meal. Not what I'd expected to be doing for a high end dinner on vacation.

The charming restaurant was everything I'd hoped it would be. Seating is limited so a reservation is a good idea. My husband and I ordered the onion soup, sea scallops, duck duo and the profiteroles. The soup was well balanced with a ton of onions. The sea scallops were very tender. The duck duo was very tasty (however the duck skin was not crisp which was my only issue). The profiteroles with the semi sweet chocolate sauce were perfection. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

With its elegant…read moresetting and abundant windows featuring Lake Michigan views, it makes for a memorable evening. The daily menu was crammed with the best local foods and in August when we visited that meant cherries, luscious vine ripened tomatoes, blueberries and more. In fact I hard a hard time narrowing down even the 4 salads as they all sounded fantastic as did the 10 appetizers. In the end we opted to share some things starting with the light crab "puffs" (really golf-ball-sized crab/rice cakes) which were delicious although a bit light on the accompanying sauce. Next we savored the small summer salad made with juicy dark purple tomatoes, fresh basil and slivers of mozzarella. Our entree was the pecan crusted white fish that was also nicely prepared. Note they add a somewhat outrageous charge for a split plate-around $16, so our fish ended up costing $66! For dessert we chose the turtle sundae festooned with crunchy toasted pecans and a house made caramel sauce. There's a nice wine list too. Service here was top notch with constantly filled water glasses and a very professional staff. I was really pleased and surprised to find a restaurant of this quality located in a tiny vacation hamlet. Highly recommended

While we love great food, we are not "foodies" who do well with super modern/unique takes on classics - and after perusing many menus of different restaurants in the area, we felt like Blu was the right mix of fancy but delicious and classic and we were not disappointed! Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries! Staff is attentive, kind, and always checking to make sure you're taken care of. Overall, yes it's pricey, but for the delicious food, view, overall fanciness - I think it's justified and worth it for a special occasion! We would love to come back in the future.

The service was outstanding our waitress was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. We actually think she was also the bartender, and she made our evening feel even more lovely and memorable. From the moment we walked in, we felt special because of the way we were treated. We were seated at a lovely table and ordered two desserts: the Hazelnut Tart and the Crème Brûlée with Raspberry Purée, along with two mochas. The Hazelnut Tart was absolutely divine! Every single bite was better than the one before. My husband really enjoyed the Crème Brûlée, saying the raspberry gave it a delicious twist. The mochas were both great, although we noticed a difference in strength , mine was a bit stronger while his was more balanced, which was slightly disappointing but not a deal-breaker. Overall, it was such a lovely experience. The ambiance, the desserts, the drinks, and especially the exceptional service made us feel so valued and welcomed. We're definitely coming back to try the food next time!

The octopus was tender and my husband really enjoyed the tuna tartar special appetizer. I will say that there was very little burrata on my salad, which I was disappointed on compared to the price. I would come back for another special occasion.

The way in which he coaxed our individual tastes made the experience feel as if we were the only ones there. Good job! Food: well the shrimp appetizer salad and French onion soup were so tasty they didn't get shared. I think that says it all but wait, then there was the salmon with beluga lentils. The olive tapenade was the right balance of salty and savory for the Scottish salmon. Ambiance: the snow mound is gone and the lake can be seen again. We had a different server that night and he was MIA for more than half the meal. When he came back he asked if we wanted to-go cups for our beverages as he brought the check at the same time.
