The shrimp and crab risotto was nothing but ground up meat mixed with sauce slipped over risotto Looked like dog food I would expect some full shrimp/crab for the price.. the desserta came out half frozen out of a box.. dont waste your time or money. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Greeted warmly by the hostess who happily led us to our seats at the bar (which we requested). The bartenders were both kind and helpful with answering questions about the food and bourbons. The gentleman behind the counter offered his knowledge of the different varieties of bourbon to help us pick our flight. I got the Steak Diane special - FANTASTIC. Steak so tender you could cut it with a fork. Veggies were also cooked perfectly and so tasty. Boyfriend got the whitefish fried rice bowl (the other special) and that was awesome, too. Shrimp cocktail and fresh baked bread appetizers were both so good and the bourbons... well they never disappoint. :) We had a great time here and encourage you to try it yourself before letting the bad reviews influence you not going. We had the prime rib. The flavor was good, it wasn't too tough and it was served medium rare as requested. That's the highlight of the meal. One adequately sized baguette was $7, ro refills. Charging for bread at a steakhouse? Not a good look. The side of mashed potatoes was terrible. If it had been tasty it would have been barely enough to share. I've been here a few times and it's been great, hence why I booked for Valentine's Day. This time was unfortunate. We wanted to have a nice dinner for Vday, simple enough. They had nice live music going at a prefect volume so that you can still hear yourself talk. Our food was just subpar. My girls risotto was too hard (pre al dente), her filet was tough, and I don't think I've had a worse Old Fashioned (which they charged me $48 for 2 drinks (1 sangria and 1 old fashioned). Server never checked on us about the drinks, never came back to see if we wanted anything else. She still got tipped 20+ % because my mother raised me right, but I won't be going there again unfortunately. This is just one bad experience I had out of a few good ones so take it for what it's worth, but overcharging on the bill and neglecting customers kinda does it for me. I wanted to give a 2.5, but that rating is not available....we went for our 10th anniversary. We dined at 5:30 on 5/18---a Saturday evening. It pains me to leave this low rating; most of my restaurant ratings are 4.0 and above..... We were told it was not that great, but we wanted to try for ourselves. Welp, IT'S NOT THAT GREAT! We literally had an Applebee's meal on fancy plates. $69 for a SMALL ribeye with no taste and full of grizzle. 3, count them THREE sprigs of asparagus and a dollop of potatoes. The house salad that came with the meal was a bowl of wilted field greens. My husband had the "traditional cut" (larger cut, according to the menu) prime rib. It was so small and tasteless. He got 4 slivers, and I do mean SLIVERS of raw carrots. Not al dente--RAW and 4, exactly 4 green beans. The only good part of the meal was the $7 small boat of mushrooms. The wine was very good and the $20 Manhattan from the bar was wonderful. Then on to dessert.....it was GOD AWFUL. Tasted like it came straight off the US Foods truck. Dry and tasteless. The dessert LOOKED wonderful on the cart, but looks were very deceiving. (see photo) Carrot cake was absolutely tasteless and like a pound cake. The key lime pie tasted like it came for the frozen food section at your local grocery store. As we waited for the check, we could clearly hear a waitress talking to a hostess about the crap tip she got and bad-mouthing the patrons. Low class staff in upscale black and white clothing. The waiter was hovering and kept calling us "ladies and gentlemen"....annoying." How was your first course ladies and gentlemen?" Huh? It was embarrassing for him. Other patrons were laughing. This, at a "fine" steakhouse.....There were only 2 of us; stop yelling ladies and gentlemen every time you approach the table. He was very loud. The entire place heard all of our business, including the AMOUNT OF OUR CHECK. Why, oh why did he have to shout "the original amount of our check was $245, but with our casino discount, it came to only $135"?!? To make sure we understood how to tip, that's why. We will never go back and will tell everyone that asks that the place sucks. Again, an Applebee's meal at Morton Steak House prices. Low class staff in high class clothing. Terrible experience. We did not tell the waiter or Hostess how bad it was. We simply stated, "it was ok, but we won't be back" when we left. Not one question as to why we had that opinion.....they don't care. Just enjoy your Big Boy's steak and give us your money.....the place barely had 3 tables the entire time we were there on a Saturday night at 5:30. That should tell you something, I guess. We would have gladly paid $40 for this couple's meal at an Applebee's or Chili's. Expectations were definitely busted at this place. When reserving on the website, it asked if there was a special occasion, to which I added a birthday. Not sure why they asked because nothing special was done, nor was the staff even aware. The bread and calamari starters were fantastic. Meals included 2 filets, shrimp fettuccine and chicken Marsala. One filet was overcooked, as well as the shrimp, and a side of scallops weren't fully washed. The service was ok. It took almost 1 1/2 hours to get our food, which was unacceptable considering guests arriving after us left before we got our meal. We'd eaten here a few months before, during the week, and it was outstanding, but maybe pass on a weekend. Sorry, but I don't think I'll ever be back. read more

To start off, our waitress was very spastic and overwhelmed in the bar area with only three tables towards the end of the night. She could not tell us anything about the wines or find someone who could. Our bread did not come out until right before the Caprese Salad 45 minutes after we ordered. The small amount of cheese versus the unripe tomatoes did not satisfy. With our wine bottle finished and no steaks yet we decided to cut our losses and cancel the rest of the meal. Spent the weekend in T.C. and decided to give this place a shot. Huge mistake. This was hands-down the worst restaurant experience we've had in 5 years of visiting T.C. Not only was the service absolutely terrible, but we also waited 20 minutes just to get a drink. When we booked, they asked if it was a special occasion, and we told them we had just gotten engaged. Not sure why they bothered asking, because they didn't acknowledge it at all. My prime rib was cold, the asparagus tasted like it had been nuked in a microwave, and the bone marrow was undercooked and completely flavorless. We dropped $375 on a meal that felt like it was worth $75 at best. Do yourself a favor--save your time and your money. This place is horrible. The owner (A.I.) had responded on their website with their typical canned apology--"We're sorry to hear about your less than exceptional experience with us. Your satisfaction is our priority, please contact us at (231)534-8870 so we can further discuss what happened and try to make things right"--let me stop you right there. That garbage doesn't fly. It's just a lazy, insincere way to pretend like they care. They got my $375 this time, but that's the last penny you'll ever see from me. She made sure to ask about allergies, any questions we might have or events we might be celebrating. Our meals were especially delicious and the remodel of the restaurant is beautiful. There are very few nice things I can say about this over priced establishment. Avoid the prime rib it's shocking and over priced, I very much doubt the 12oz we ordered was indeed 12oz. A good vet would have had it up and on it's feet. Fatty cold and poorly cooked. Even the mashed potatoes were cold and poorly seasoned. When we complained about the prime rib they offered to "warm it up" how ridiculous. We weren't offered deserts or coffee. I doubt anyone from the business will respond to this but it was a complete waste of money. I've had better food from food trucks on the street. The food is trash, French onion soup too salty, and the oysters were devoid of the natural liquid they should be served in. Meh. Nice atmosphere and convenient to gambling. Food wasn't awful but not exceptional, which is what I'd expect for the prices. I started with the lobster bisque. It was more watery than I'm used to, and only had like 4 bites of lobster. My husband has a New York strip that was okay. Good sized and cooked to the perfect temp but not super tender. I had the gnocchi. The gnocchi itself was awesome. Didn't care for the sauce much. Couldn't have been that bad though since I ate it all. Overall, I wouldn't go here again. We tried it and would rather eat somewhere in TC for half the price. read more

Wow! I was not expecting the unbelievable dinner when we walked in to this restaurant. Every bite was amazing; the lobster bisque is decadent. The basil risotto on special was perfection. I had scallops and grits that were as beautiful as they were tasty. Our server was personable and attentive without being overbearing. The manager was walking thru all night, helping the wait staff, talking with customers, and making sure that every aspect was perfect. Well this is my second time coming here. And just like the first time, the service, smiles, and most importantly the food was absolutely amazing and second to none. A spoonful of spicy beef salad to start off! The perfect amount of heaven in a spoon to get your taste buds flowing. Next up was the shrimp Louie salad. Wow. For dinner I had the filet with lobster tail. Cooked to perfection there was no food left behind as it should be. Dessert was heavenly and for these reasons I will be back again! The menu looked OK...but as I would have guessed - it was pretty sad. The waiter was sort of over the top friendly, which is sad to say...but it was borderline annoying. The salads were nothing special. Don't order the cherry vinaigrette - yuck! The blue cheese dressing was the blandest we'd ever tasted. They came with bread that looked and tasted like Cole's frozen garlic bread. Not worth the calories at all, so we skipped it. I ordered the Bourbon County Steak which was supposed to be a 2 Medallions of tenderloin pan seared with shallots & garlic then deglazed with bourbon demi-glaze. It was a bad, grisly steak covered in a brownish gravy. The garlic mashed potatoes were a solid rock. The broccoli being the savior of the plate. However, I had to remove the rather large piece of ... wait for it ... watermelon floating in the gravy before I could really consider eating off the plate. Seriously! My companion ordered the "Light, flakey Walleye crusted in a cashew butter & baked to perfection". Also accompanied on the plate with a large slice of watermelon.... The fish was decent, however the cashew flavor over powered it. The pilaf and broccoli were fairly decent. There was nothing special about anything. If anything the watermelon in the gravy was a bit disturbing. If you happen to win at the casino, perhaps you might choose to spend your money here. Otherwise, save it for a better place! read more

The restaurant itself is appealing. Atmosphere is good, not too noisy. At 6:30 on Friday of a holiday weekend you'd expect to wait but we only saw 4 other tables occupied. Why the rating? Let me start by saing that the food isn't horrible. But it is sold and priced as an exclusive restaurant. The food doesn't match the show. We ordered the calamari at the recommendation of the waiter. The breading was extremely light - a plus. The sauce was pretty good too, a little spicy and a little sweet. But the calamari itself was so rubbery that my wife gave up trying to chew it. Mushroom soup was the soup of the day so we tried it. Meh. For an entre she got the Asparagus strudel. It was decent. The dish itself seemed like a good idea but it didn't taste like the chef was at all inspired. I got the whitefish baked in paper. It was bland and boring. It came with a small side of pasta which was fine and some onion straws which were the best thing on my plate. Our server was very good. Very attentive and said "excellent" at least a dozen times as he came to refil our waters, clear plates, and check on our satisfaction.
