***3 1/2 stars***…read more This was my first time ziplining outside of a random high school gym class and I could tell it's something I'd love doing in the future. The problem is that the Mountain Creek setup is less than ideal and in my opinion not the best bang for your buck or time. The Millennial Chum and I attended the 10:30am session yesterday just after Mountain Creek opened. Would definitely recommend going at that time - parking in this area is a chaotic nightmare, which we experienced on our way out around 1pm, but thankfully avoided the drama coming in. If you're not familiar with the resort and the parking situation, try to allocate some additional time; there's multiple parking lots, some of them aren't open at the same times and they're not monitored particularly well by the staff so people go rogue and create a third row in the lots that there really isn't room for. I literally broke a sweat backing out of here. The staff at Zip Tours is fantastic and by far by the biggest selling point here. We had Cooper and Meg (I think?) as our guides, both of whom were super professional and personable. Cooper was blasting some Good Charlotte about halfway through on his mini speaker so now the Millennial Chum and I are officially back into turn-of-the-century pop punk. I am absolutely derp level when it comes to straps (airplane seat belts, bras, you name it), and everyone was very patient with me and basically just did all of the buckling and strapping while I just stood there like Ed from the Lion King. The instructions for the actual ziplining and positioning the body for landing at the other end were easy to understand and it didn't take long for everyone in the group to be acclimated, regardless of experience/background. The session/class was two hours long, and involved four ziplines. The first is the short training line down at the bottom of the ski lift. After that, you go up the ski lift to the top of the mountain and do the other three, which are basically crisscrossing one of the lakes at the top of Vernon Peak. After completing the four lines, you navigate across a narrow suspension bridge to an ATV/trailer/truck - I'm sure there's an obvious, much better term for it - that takes you back to the ski lift to wrap up the adventure. My favorite was the second line, which is the longest and offers the best views. I hike up mountains on a pretty regular basis so heights aren't much of a concern, but I DO get queasy on aggressive rollercoasters so that was a mild caveat in the back of my mind. This wasn't an issue at all; there's no significant dropdowns and the speed isn't that fast. I will say though that the landing can be a little abrupt/hard at the end, which they mitigate as much as they can with this cushioning spring system. Probably given the height/distance, the second line had the most intense landing, but it wasn't egregious. Would have hated to be one of the metaphorical test dummies when they were figuring that system out though. Here's the main problem - it's two hours for four ziplines, one of which is a very short training line that takes about five seconds if I had to guess. The actual ziplining is minimal (and maybe that's just the nature of the beast - it doesn't take long to zip down a line) and a huge chunk of that two hours is you just standing around waiting for other people to go down the line. Probably the best way to fix that is to either slash the class size in half (which I'm guessing they don't want to do because they'd be leaving a sizeable chunk of money on the table) or investing in adding another one or two lines at each stop to speed up the process. I have no idea how feasible that is from a financial or logistics perspective but it did look like there was room to do so if it came to it. Another issue (and I think this is more on the company overall and not the guides) is that they allowed three people who were late to join us, and they caused delays as well. The rules on the website clearly say that if you're late you're going to get slotted into the next available session, but they made an accommodation for them. It honestly wouldn't have been a big deal, but these guys were pretty disruptive and self-centered. One of them had a loud Go Pro that he kept turning on and off and he even asked one of the guides to confirm it was recording. It might be too extreme to ban those devices especially given the type of activity you're doing, but it was a definite distraction. The other two were intermittently making out and filming the rest of us; that latter part I think arguably should have been shot down by the guides or cited in the rules. You want to film yourself or the scenery? Fine, but I think it's pretty douchey to film the rest of us without permission. Your mileage may vary. I don't regret doing it, but I'd like to try this at a different venue with longer ziplines and less wait times.

I've gone zip lining at many different places and sadly have to say this was in the bottom of…read moreexperiences. First, they seem to have staffing issues. I'm not sure if that's due to staff shortage or mismanaging the staff but it was chaotic checking in. The staff that was there was doing their best and friendly but it didn't set the tone that this was going to be a smoothly executed experience which is important when doing an activity where safety is very important. Second, the amount of waiting you do verse actually zipping is way out of portion. The group moves together so you have to wait for all 15 people in your group to go before going and waiting at the next zip. There is also only 4 zips. So for a two hour tour that can tell you how long you wait for. The best thing about this tour is the basket harness you get strapped into. It made it more comfortable and less strenuous when you hit the breaks. The guides did try to make it fun and were willing to take your picture too which was very much appreciated. I do not recommend this zip tour at the end of the day however.

She is truly an incredible asset to this company. During our first visit, my son and I became nervous while up in the trees on the zip line course and needed assistance. Madison came to help us right away. She was calm, professional, patient, and reassuring, and she safely guided us down while making us both feel completely at ease. Her kindness and confidence turned what could have been a stressful moment into a positive experience. A few weeks later, we returned to the park and unexpectedly saw Madison again while waiting in line. To our surprise, she immediately remembered both of us -- even my son's name. That simple gesture meant so much and instantly made him feel comfortable and excited to be there again. Madison goes above and beyond in every sense. She is professional, personable, attentive, and clearly cares about the guests she helps. Employees like her are rare, and she is the kind of person who makes families want to come back. Adventure Park should be proud to have someone so exceptional on their team.

There is a seating area where you can have a snack or you can walk the paths. The surrounding area is a beautiful park. They put in your harness, that doesn't smell bad, show a video and you are off to the course. It is difficult to fall off because the harnesses will not allow you to completely disconnect both attachment points. There are multiple height levels for beginners to experts. If you get scared or tired you can exit early. Kids love it, they have fun night packages and they do holiday stuff with lights. They have vending machines but bring snacks and water. Wear boots or trail sneakers and comfortable clothes. I recommend this place.

So if you are going for a "real" art experience this may not be your vibe. This was more a sensory experience, very therapeutic. Our instructor was very thorough. The lighting and aromatherapy was very therapeutic as well. I won't give to much away only that you should try it but I will also warn you if you are doing sculpting you DO NOT take the finished product home with you. As I said this is a great therapeutic experience.

From the moment we walked in, the space had such a chill, artsy atmosphere. The instructor was not only super talented, but also so kind and helpful. He walked us step-by-step through the painting, demonstrating each part on a sample canvas and checking in with everyone as we painted. He kept our mimosa glasses full and refreshed our paint palettes There were also fresh pastries and fruit to nibble on while we painted, and he even helped us take photos and videos throughout the class Whether you're planning a cute date, a girls day out, or just looking for something creative and fun to do in NYC, this is such a unique experience. The employee who checked us in didn't give us the backstory at all, which was strange because I've done plenty of escape rooms and the story is always part of the experience. I only knew a bit of it from reading online beforehand. We were also told one of the mechanisms wasn't working, but the explanation was so vague that we didn't really know what to expect. Once inside, the room was very dim. It would've been nice to be given a flashlight, but we ended up having to use our phone flashlights just to see anything. A lot of the props and clues were worn down or dirty, making the letters and numbers hard to read. There was one puzzle that required unlocking something, but the lock already had a key sitting in it. When we moved the item, the key fell out without us realizing, so the lock stayed "locked," and we wasted a lot of time trying to solve something that should've already been open. To make it worse, the broken mechanism they mentioned ended up being something we kept trying to solve because it wasn't clearly explained beforehand. Overall, there were multiple things we were not properly informed about, and several faulty mechanisms that should've been addressed before we entered. This all affected our ability to escape. And on top of that, whenever we asked for a clue, it took them a long time to respond. It honestly didn't feel like they were paying attention or monitoring the room closely. Escape rooms can be so much fun, but this experience was pretty frustrating and could've been handled much better with clearer communication, working props, and more attentive staff.

Full disclosure: I quit mid-course (level 4 of 5 - "Red") and it was embarrassing to hold up the…read moregroup of college girls behind us while one of the guides had to scurry up to my platform so he could safely bring me back down to terra firma. (On Father's Day, no less. When I was hoping I could keep up with my kids and at least finish the "advanced elevation" course.) That being said... we had an absolute blast. (Myself and the Mrs. were beaten and bruised and battered and sore afterwards, but we loved it.) The weather wasn't ideal (cold and rainy) but I think that was a blessing in disguise. The workers and guides were all incredible. (They were all supportive, friendly, and passionate about the adventure we were about to jump into.) Each course got a wee bit higher and more challenging and within the actual course I appreciated their 'method to the madness' - they'd break up the taxing (physical) stuff with a zipline as a 'breather' before you had to start to hustle again on some crazy shifting logs or cargo netting. As someone with a bit of experience over the years (ziplining at Hunter Mountain, Ausable Chasm in the Adirondacks, TreeEscape at Mt. Creek) FLG X was by far the most exacting. (But take that with a grain of salt... if you're not in the AARP age range - like myself - you might have a blast and be able to reach the Black Course, including those daunting monkey bars!) Im also horrified of heights but i was determined I went through a brief video about the corse and some safety. The young lady from the desk gave a excellent training on safety and proper use of the equipment Then my wife and i was introduced to Matthew our guide Matthew explained everything step by step as we went along My wife had plenty of experience and with Matthew we felt safe for myself and my wife I took my time climbing the latter and Matthew assured me i secured and safe He really gained my trust . I had to take my time and rest for two to five min at a time and Matthew really gave me the confidence i needed to continue Im 60 years old i not old but iam a little broken lol I was a little dehydrated i needed water i thought i was in trouble but no Matthew asked one of the other highly trained staff to get me a bottle of water After that i zipped a few times with no issues i was doing really good. But my arms were going dull because of some prior injuries Matthew helped go down the ladder and i was ok Matthew is a very calm individual professional who knows what he is doing you can tell he had the best training. He really made my experience great I have to add it wasn't very busy so thank god The staff is excellent and these young men and women run a tight ship safety is their priority and second is for their guest to enjoy themselves. The zip line course is great for any level my wife said this was the best one yet and she has been to many. If i can do it i think most people can to Use common sense, listen to the guides they are there for you I cant ever do this ever again because of my injuries of a bad accident i had in 2011 but this was on my bucket list I always wanted to scuba dive but that dream is only a dream But i got to zip line and at no point at all i wasn't in any kind of danger Thank you Matthew for doing your job above and beyond of any on my expectations The harness and the clips and all the safety equipment are the best . You have to listen to the guides have common courtesy and have patience and use the equipment properly and pay attention to what you are doing Its not all to difficult trust me im not to bright and i had a great time Matthew you are a true champ and you will succeed anything you do. We tried the room that has you trying to find clues to help you travel back in time. It was really hard and unfortunately we couldn't solve the final clues. Nevertheless we still had a great time and I am now in search of an escape room near my home so that I can take my friends and family. Worth it and next time I'm in town, I want to visit again!

Such a great time at this Escape Room!…read more I went with two of my best friends and we did "Abducted: Escape from the Madman". This is where you are abducted and you wake up in a stranger's closet, which you have to escape from! I thought the storyline was awesome and our Puzzle Master (not sure that is the correct name but the person that gives you clues when you are stuck!) was great. She knew exactly when to give us clues especially when we were so close to finding the answer. I thought this multi-room escape room was awesome and challenging. We managed to get out with 2 minutes to spare and will definitely check out some of their other Escape Rooms if I am ever back in the area. Also, the place is a little tricky to find as its in an industrial area so just keep circling and you will find it!
