I can't say THANK YOU enough to Boulevard! I called the day of because my 7 year old Yorkie was walking with a weird hunch in his back. I was heading to work, so my friend was able to take him in for me to get checked out. I was walked through pricing, probability of what it could be and more before he even got there. I was already preparing for a hefty bill, and right before the Holidays. I was more concerned with my baby than my wallet, so off he went to get checked out. Now I haven't been inside, so this review is based solely off the customer service I received over the phone before and after Yoda's appointment. My total bill was $55. & yes, that included medication to help Yoda's back, turns out he pulled a muscle walking up and down the stairs. You can't begin to imagine how grateful, thankful and appreciative I was that i wasn't ripped off, my pup was better and the hospital followed up with me a week later to check in. I have never experienced service like this, and I have four dogs, so I've seen a few different vets over the years trying to find my go to spot. Thank you Boulevard! You are incredible! This is a fantastic vet clinic. The staff is very friendly and patient even though they're very busy. They squeezed me in on a busy Saturday when they had one cancellation. I arrived a few minutes early to do paperwork. The greatest thing was that I didn't have to wait at all to meet with Dr. Dylan- I spoke to Jamie, one of the nurses, for about five minutes and immediately after she was done gathering info from me, Dr. Dylan came in. In my experience, vet visits always involve long waits, so this was a really pleasant surprise! Jamie and Dr. Dylan were both excellent with my dog, who was grumpy and in pain. They were patient and gentle with him. Jamie gave him plenty of treats to warm him up before listening to his heart, and she gave him a nice "hug" while Dr. Dylan examined him. They were also very patient in answering all of my questions and explaining the recommended treatment. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. So great! I am so glad I was able to get my dog into this wonderful clinic- I highly recommend it. read more

Boulevard is awesome! We took our pup here right after we adopted her, and they were very thorough with their examination. They also were extremely patient with our "first time dog owner" questions, and gave us lots of tips on how to keep our dog healthy. We've been in a couple times since - for some booster shots, a fecal test, and a check up when we found a lump (just a bit of a reaction to a shot, whew!), and every time, the staff, vet techs, and vets are all awesome. Our dog isn't great on leash (she's getting better with training though!), and she really barks when she sees other cats & dogs, and the staff is always so understanding, preparing an examination room a bit early for us that we can hang out in before our appointment begins. They're always ready with encouragement, empathy, and a yummy treat - what more could you want? read more

We recently took our two lovely kittens here for their 1 year checkup. Everyone was so pleasant to work with and they took really good care of our babies. The vet and the vet assistant took their time with us and we never felt rushed. Afterwards they gave our little ones a bag of treats with both their names on it. It's the little things! I've been going to Dr. Dylan and his staff since I moved to Chicago in September 2015. They've been nothing but friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with my needs. One of my favorite things about them is their promptness in communication with me. More often than not I have to contact them via email about filling prescriptions for my dog with Addison's Disease. I never wait longer than necessary for a response, usually within a few hours (or less). Dr. Dylan will even respond himself from time to time with questions about my dog to make sure everything is going well. That's a nice touch that I'm sure many veterinarians don't do themselves. If you're in need of a vet in the Logan Square or Humboldt park area, I couldn't recommend them any higher. We just took our puppy to Boulevard Veterinary, and we could not have been happier with our experience. The staff was both knowledgeable and friendly. They made our little guy feel right at home, while giving him the medical care he needed. He loved the technicians and the veterinarian, and he even seemed sad about leaving the vet (something he did not do at other veterinary clinics). Before coming here my poor pup was suffering from severe allergies. Her prior vet exhausted all options he knew. We were heartbroken to leave a beloved vet, but for her betterment we began our search. After many phone calls and weeks of research we decided to come here. I am so happy we did! After the first visit we already had a plan of action that we were all comfortable with. And finally my pups allergies started to go away! It had been years since the first outbreak and she had finally found relief. Everyone we've interacted with has been so friendly, kind, and attentive. I just visited Boulevard Veterinary for the first time, and I definitely feel obligated to write a review (no, they didn't ask me to). If they're able to maintain this level of service after they grow (and they will grow), I will be super impressed. I came to Boulevard Veterinary because I noticed they opened up shortly after receiving a completely absurd quote from my other vet for a dental cleaning for my cat. I decided to give them a call and see what they charged, and let's just say this: I was correct in feeling like the price was way too high from that other vet. Now I'm not a guy who shops for vets on price - proper care and a skilled veterinarian are the most important things. However, gouging is gouging, and that's why I'm leaving my other vet. So - about that experience at Boulevard: - although it's new, it's impeccably clean and a beautiful space. Is decor important to pet care? No. However, it does say something about the attention they put in to little details. - the staff is polite, attentive and willing to tolerate lots of questions from overzealous pet parents like me - I wasn't rushed at all. I asked TONS of questions and never once felt like the vet tech or the veterinarian himself were frustrated over that - a feeling I've gotten elsewhere. - Dr Frederickson was attentive and helpful in answering all of my questions. I also liked his pragmatic approach on vaccinating my cat (e.g. acknowledging which ones are most important and why, given he's a 100% indoor cat), etc. Above all, I felt like even as a brand new customer, they just seem to care about relationships there. It feels far less "clinical" than a lot of vets, and a lot more conversational. I really hope that as they grow they're able to maintain this level of attentiveness to their patients. I understand that's hard to keep going once you have lots more customers, but I think they're capable of doing it. I can't recommend this vet enough. They're fair, honest, reasonable and they really made me feel like this is the place I want to take my pets for the rest of their lives. read more

We LOVE BLVD Veterinary in Logan Square. We have a 2-year-old 90 lb mutt named Max and have been SO grateful for their support through his eventful puppyhood. So far, aside from his checkups, we've seen the vet because Max had a scary mouthful of papillomas, had a wart on top of one of his toes, had abundant eye gook, and had a fungal rash on his belly. (Oy.) They are great via email (for appointments or questions), are willing to look at pictures and provide guidance (sometimes saying, "Nah, that's not worrisome - don't bother coming in"), and are incredibly kind and supportive. And, most importantly, Max loves them! When we drive past, he does his excited, "AH! Are we going to see the nice people with the treats?!" whimper/wiggle dance - he is never afraid, though he has encountered plenty of poking and prodding there. We have now referred 4 furry friends and they're all happy as well. Can't say enough nice things about the quality of care, the staff, or the beautiful space. Please trust them with your pup's wellness! (Side note: we shopped around price-wise before landing here and found their rates to be comparable to 5 other well-rated clinics we checked out. So that's a plus, too!) read more

Very bright, clean, and beautiful practice. Dr. Dylan is friendly and thorough, as are the staff. So why 3 stars? The day after I was seen last week, I got a fast-paced and confusing phone call from a doctor whom I hadn't met. "We'll need a stool sample." I told him I had just brought one yesterday and I had been emailed that the stool was clear. He shuffled through his papers, told me to hold on, was obviously confused, then panicked me about my cat's blood work being "off" and brought up biopsies, ultrasounds, etc. My cat had been on her prescribed antidiarrheal meds for ONE DAY. I asked that he slow his roll to see if I could try their first recommended course of treatment before talking about biopsies. He said, "I'm not saying she will need a biopsy right now, just maybe in the future." Well, I might need a biopsy someday too. What's your point? Basically, if you REALLY think my cat is that gravely ill, the doctor WHO I KNOW should be telling me in person, not a stranger in a rushed and confusing conversation over the phone. And if I'm misreading this conversation, Dr. Dylan, that is the fault of your colleague. I shouldn't leave any conversation with a vet feeling more confused than before. It's just hard to tell whether all these beautiful bells and whistles that make this such an amazing-looking practice are what is fueling forced attempts for unnecessary/barely necessary medical procedures. I got a second opinion and was told the blood work looked completely fine. So, Yelpers, look at all these 5 star reviews. I'm obviously the black sheep here. I just don't fully trust this place and I'm not made of money, so I'll be taking it and my cat elsewhere. I truly do wish them the best of luck; the care that they gave my cat was just fine. I just won't be paying for more of it at this practice. read more

I had spoken to 3 different people to do a prescription for my dog and after being very specific about what it needed to be ordered, the ordered came in the mail and it was wrong. This is after explaining what I needed at the visit, through phone calls and on email. Too many cooks in the kitchen couldn't get it right! and then when you do get an explanation they twist it to make it my fault and whoever I talked to was talking to me like I was in preschool or dumb. I was a customer of Boulevard since they opened. I was happy with them when I lived in Chicago. I was visiting with my dog who got very sick. I called them before they closed for the evening. After waiting on hold for an extended time, the person who answered spoke with the doctor who said to give me the name of the ER vet. Extremely disappointing since they were not yet officially closed and one would think a vet who had cared for my dog would care enough to stick around to help. read more

I called in a panic at 7:30am this morning because my elderly cat had been throwing up and acting unusual. Megan (one of the staffers) had called me by 8:15am to schedule me to come in immediately at 11:15am. I was extremely anxious the entire time and had no idea if my cat was alright or if something was critically wrong. Dr. Ho came in and she was very gentle, professional, and explained everything they were going to do for her today. Never in my life have I had such a positive vet experience. read more

This is hands down the best vet team you'll ever find. I have a pet with special needs, so she needs frequent visits. Everyone is always so warm and professional. The team goes out of their way to not rip you off while still providing top tier service. When my cat needed a very specific set of test results for her specialist, not only did the team consult with him directly, but the tech went out of his way to do research to find the most affordable option. The veterinarians, techs, and office managers are all competent, compassionate, and so personable. Also worth mentioning that the office is beautifully designed. Really high class all-around. I wasn't very impressed at all. I was told how I need to have all vaccinations for my dog even though I don't board my dog or take him to dog parks. Then they weren't able to complete the procedure on my dog I called to bring him back because he was still experiencing issues and they were going to charge me again. I wouldn't recommend. The place is brand new so it's super clean and stylish, the front desk people are kind and friendly, and Dr D is very very nice. It's awesome to have hidden gem of a clinic nearby. I can't say enough good things about this place! Not only is Boulevard a wonderful space to bring my dogs when they need to be seen by a doctor (which for me, is usually weekly), it's also the coolest vets office I have ever stepped foot in! I could literally hang out there all the time! It is aesthetically pleasing, super cozy, and they play great music! Everyone who works at Boulevard including Dr. Dylan is amazing! I absolutely adore Julie and Diti (the front of house coordinators and the pleasant voices you speak to when you call to book an appointment). I genuinely love seeing them. I also really like Alyssa (one of the techs). She always remembers me, remembers my dogs, etc. I really appreciate Dr. Dylan's approach. He never tries to scare you with all the things that COULD be wrong with your pet. He starts with the simplest and most cost effective approach and if that doesn't work, then he will dive into other, possibly more expensive approaches. He is very calm, informative, and a good listener. I trust him with all 3 of my dogs! I have never experienced, in all the years of being a dog mom, a place where I felt like the people at the vets office actually liked talking to me and I am not just a number. They really are such an amazing staff of people. All very warm, caring, funny, and easy to talk to... I give this place more than 5 stars. They are exactly what Logan Square needed! I can't say enough great things about Boulevard Vet. It is such a pleasant, friendly, clean place that I can't imagine having anything less than a stellar experience. Most vets that I've visited in the past have given me a sense of "impending doom"- a lot of times, the people look just as miserable as their pets. Here, the two women at the front desk, Diti and Meghan, were so friendly and true animal lovers. They played with our puppy, easing her nerves by giving off calm, happy vibes. From there, we met the vet tech, Jamie, who was also super friendly and knowledgable. She was able to answer our questions, and listened to us carefully. She was also very sweet and gentle with our puppy. After Jamie, we met Dr Julie, who listened to all of our concerns and addressed all possible issues. She suggested a couple other vaccines to consider, which you could tell just wasn't a way of "up-selling"- she prioritized one over the other, and the reasons for it made sense. You can tell that Dr Julie, just like Diti, Meghan, and Jamie, is a true animal lover- always gentle and comforting. Boulevard Vet as a whole is very up-front about pricing, and in no way did I ever feel scammed or taken advantage of. Our puppy needs to have a procedure done in the next couple months, so they sent us home with an itemized estimate. We were also given a free month of heartworm and flea and tick medication to start us off. All in all, Boulevard Vet is an beautiful facility that has good business practices with an amazing staff!! 2 thumbs up!!! read more

I met the owners at the Logan Square Farmers Market and they were SO friendly. Today when my dog was sick, I knew exactly where I wanted to take her. I didn't have an appointment, but just showed up at the door right when they opened to see if they could help my sick little baby. They made time to see her right away. Words can not describe the amount of gratitude I have for, Dr Davis & Alexandria. They were exceptional...Our family had to put our dog down, who we've had since the children were babies. Our dog was family & without knowing this, Dr. Davis, returned back to the office after he had left for the day. Alexandria, the receptionist, called him on the phone, & explained that we were there to say good bye and he actually care back. He was so gentle with our beloved pet Gizmo & with my daughter, who was sobbing. He gave us time for everything, time with him, before actually saying goodbye & also, once he was gone. They made one of the hardest things to do, just a little bit easiest to deal with. So thankful, that we were guided to their hospital. Alexandria, was just as awesome, as the vet! Our experience at Boulevard was the best vet experience we ever had. We took our 17 year old cat, Biscuit, there after she was incorrectly diagnosed by another vet to have organ failure (kidney or liver, they weren't sure which one). I won't say the name, but let's just say they are located in a major pet store She was given a more complete examination at Boulevard where it was discovered she had pretty advanced cancer. Everyone was kind and professional in taking us through the process of letting her go. We even received a sympathy card from the entire staff. Two months later we showed up with our brand new kittens, Luca and Saya , and what a delight! Before examining them Dr. Dylan spent time playing with them to put them at east. All this at no extra cost. They are very competitively priced. read more

Love Love Love Boulevard Veterinary! My dog has long suffered from anxiety and allergies. Dr. Dylan was the only vet I've ever seen that went away from the standard treatment of anxiety that every other vet we'd seen had given us. Dr. Dylan listened to my concerns and my dog's issues and recommended a treatment that has helped her leaps and bounds. I've never felt so heard and understood by a vet, than I have at Boulevard. My dog is much happier and healthier these days (same with me!). read more

I have deleted my initial visit 5 stars after multiple visits for both my dog and a friendly feral cat and feel strongly that 1) I was quilted into a flu shot for my dog after I may the decision after careful and study (and it was twice as much as listed on their e-mail) 2) I paid for an expensive 'ring worm' test that I didn't believe was necessary and that took TWO months to get the results having not returned phone calls @ it..and no, the cat didn't have it. TWO months! The dog and I both would have had it in time. Two procedures were done on the cat on the EXACT same spot with no explanation. I have had to request numerous time the animals records of the app't and they are slim with information. They also call back weeks after the visit to check on the animals health...weeks? Not days? I don't have trust in this vet service at this time.. because of meds and tests that go no where. Vet medicine for your animals are expensive and have to have a solution. My dog is 15 and I just don't trust this clinic with the ending of her time. Just make sure that the expensive is justified for your pet. read more
