We were somewhat unsure as country club food is typically not swell but this was a great dinner. It is clear that the chef (understand she is a J&W grad?) is at the top of her game. This dinner could compete with many of the fine dining spots we like as Chanterelle or New Rivers. Second - the service was excellent. We started with 2 of their signature G&Ts which were different and good (and only $12 compared to paying $16, $18, ... at many spots). It was a prix fixe dinner - 3 courses - for $40! Starters were crudo and celeriac soup; mains were chorizo-crusted scallops and mackerel, and desserts were panna cotta and chocolate cheesecake. All were tasty, well executed, and beautifully presented. Right size portions. So if you can snag a reservation before the end of Restaurant Weeks (Jan. 20), do so.

The atmosphere was wonderful--- and the fireplace was a great addition on this rainy cold night. So despite the great dinner experience 4 stars because: 1. Not open to the public so we can never return unless they have a special event. 2. Overpriced Martinis. My biggest pet peeve. $15 for a tiny martini and it had too much vermouth. 3. My dish was a little cold.

Myrtle, which I think is one of the coolest bars I've ever seen (it has its own in-house boutique!) was packed this morning. They served a $15 brunch which looked great but, since I had just eaten breakfast, I chose to forego and enjoyed a delicious Irish coffee ($12) instead. This might be my go-to bar from now on. I wish they had a parking garage built close to it, so people can enjoy the venue and focus on the event, instead of having to deal with parking. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, this building was built in 1894-5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. From 2005 to 2010, the armory housed the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts. It is currently home to the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Every holiday season, they have their Holiday Crafts show that draws hundreds. The armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

I was here for the first time during the RI Brew Fest. The large interior allowed for many vendors and partons alike. The one drawback is the facilities - bathrooms are an issue here, so with large crowds, that presents quite a problem. Parking, while available, isn't nearly as ample as the space itself, so that's another reason why I've docked it one star. However, I truly love this place and can't wait to host my own event here someday.

We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!
