From the beginning, Ledgemont dazzled us with their spacious rooms, classic décor, rolling greens, and friendly staff. They understood our vision for the day and worked with us to meet our needs while being respectful of our budget. They had everything we were looking for: an indoor ceremony space, a large bar for the cocktail hour, delicious food, and space to get ready on-site. Nathan, the dining room manager, helped to ensure our big day ran smooth as butter. Leading up to wedding he worked out all the details of the day with us from walking us through the tasting and menu planning, to the schedule of events, and decoration planning. The day of, he was available from the early morning until the late hours of the night, making the cogs of the wheel that was our wedding turn. He was a huge asset in the success of our event. It rained all day the day of our wedding so we were gracious to have the space Ledgemont provided. A large overhang kept guests dry as they were dropped off at the front door. A large staircase (and elevator!) led up to the entire 2nd floor that was ours to occupy. The card room where we held our ceremony was beautiful with its panoramic windows and white curtains. The cocktail hour space was quite large and easily fit our large list of wedding guests. Plenty of seating, table space, and an outdoor deck for ducking out between raindrops. The reception space was beautifully decorated (better than I could have come up with myself with what I provided for supplies!). I highly recommend Ledgemont if you are looking for a venue for your wedding. We had a fantastic experience.

We paid inside the cafeteria area for 9 holes each and started around 5:50 pm. At hole one, there's a little pitch and putt area off to the side and a driving range after that. Besides the first hole and 4th hole, we did not have to wait much. Each hole was unique, a bit challenging (especially the 5th one with a big body of water cutting across the hole), and beautiful / well maintained. At hole one and two my friend did have a white ball which made it hard to keep track of since there are lots of white balls from the driving range scattered around; I would suggest using a different colored ball. I appreciated how there was ball cleaner and two trash cans at the start of every hole. At around 8 pm, we were on hole eight, but gave up since the sun had gone down enough where we couldn't see the ball well. But what we were fortunate to see was a deer eating some grass.

Alicia worked with a new vendor to get us what we wanted and even had us back for a second tasting. The night of the wedding the food was incredible... huge portions. NCC offers a wedding package called Sweet Serenity.. which is basically a one stop shop. The appetizers, meals, table arrangements, DJ, cake, limo, etc. are all included in this package. Each and every vendor did a phenomenal job. I cant say enough about the venue and my experience. I was looking for the perfect combo of affordable and elegant... NCC checked every box. The ceremony location, the cocktail hour and reception are in an awesome spot, The problem is when you get to cocktail hour, the bar area is a mess. I waited 20 minutes for two drinks, the waiter/waitresses have no sense of who is next in line and work only one end of the bar instead of end to end. After receiving my double fisters- meaning I had to order us both two drinks one round because I couldn't bother to wait in line again- we sat out on the patio area. It was nice up until a golf ball smoked the window outside next to us. At that point thank god the reception started it was beautiful. Up until food starting being served. Instead of the staff going around from table to table ordering the food that some requested before bribing it out..., they brought the food out and I hilariously observed the old lady staff yell at the people standing at the bar to sit down. I asked around, and many of my friends who have played this course before said it's great for beginners. Immediately when I arrived, I knew that there might be an issue; I forgot my girlfriend's golf bag at the house, and I know that some golf courses require a bag per person to play. As I walked toward the clubhouse, this came to fruition. I didn't even step in the building, and they told me to turn around; she wasn't allowed to play without a bag. Respectfully, I said that that was fine, and I left to go get a bag. Now having the bag, we arrived back at the course. Before even stepping out of my car, both the owner and another man scoped me out from the building and immediately jumped to go confront me. He said you are not playing today. I asked why not; I went out of my way to go all the way back to my house to go get a second bag. She had the bag; why can't she play? He responded by saying that she was a beginner. Never once did I say that she was a beginner. He was just assuming. However, knowing that she was a beginner, I said, "Yeah, she's a beginner. How else is she supposed to learn how to play if not at a course?" He proceeded to say that she should go to a driving range. I said that's perfect; she's been to a driving range multiple times, we go to Top Golf all the time, and we have gone to a couple of the local driving ranges. He just shook his head no. "Beginners don't play here." THIS IS A PUBLIC COURSE, may I remind you. It's sponsored online for being good for beginners! Many of my friends have learned how to play golf here! And then he said he was worried about the pace of play. I said it was completely understandable. I said, even when I play, if I'm struggling and I'm holding up a group, I'll let them play through, a common golf courtesy. He basically told me that he didn't care. And then he proceeded to tell me that there was an event taking place. If this was true, why wouldn't he just tell me that in the first place? Why would he make me go to my house and back to get a bag? On top of this, there were maybe even six cars in the parking lot. And as many may know, if you're holding a members-only event, there's usually more than just six cars. In addition to this, I also knew someone who was currently playing on the course who happened to not be a member. The staff was straight up LYING to us. I left off by saying that there were many people that I knew that played at this course and that they would be very disappointed to hear about how they were treating people. His response to this statement was that he didn't care. People wanting to play at his course is his business. The fact that he doesn't care is ridiculous. At this point I was getting pretty agitated; however, not wanting to escalate this situation, I decided to just leave. All the reasons he gave were invalid. He had an issue with the bag. I got another bag... He was worried about the pace of play. I said I'd let people play through. When I had solutions to both of these issues, he even decided to lie and say that there was a member's event occurring. In the car my girlfriend and I were thinking, "What was their issue?" We were paying customers just looking to play golf. My girlfriend immediately thought to herself it was what she was wearing. She was wearing athletic leggings and a sweatshirt; it was a cold day, and there was no dress code. There's no way that this should have been the issue. Do they not like women playing there? The owner herself is a woman. Is it a race thing? She's Hispanic. I hate to think that there are people out there that would do something like this, but ultimately I don't see many other reasons why we shouldn't have been able to play there. For people reading this, formulate your own opinions on the situation. My girlfriend was excited to play her first round of golf; now this incident might have ruined it all for us. All I'm saying is I'll never go back there again.

Our granddaughter got married and had her reception at NewHill on 5/22/26. We were the first wedding under the club's new ownership. This was a large wedding that utilized the pond area for the ceremony, the deck for the open bar & appetizer hour and the large ballroom for the reception. Everything was flawless and that says a lot when there were many new employees, chefs & cooks, bartenders and management testing their skills for the first time. The original booking was with the previous ownership under the Hillside brand and we worried about the transition. Believe us when we tell you that there was no need to worry. The whole day was perfect. NewHill Country Club has completely erased any previous experience you may have had when they were Hillside.

We found Hillside through a third party site and reserved an 11:30 am tee time. When we pulled into the large parking lot, there was a sign that said "Course Advisory: Temporary Conditions Improvements Underway OPEN for the season" - from then I knew I was in for a surprise. My friend got a cart for himself, but I prefer to walk so his total for 9 holes + cart was $41 and my total for 9 holes no cart was $30. As a golfer who only plays for fun and likes bird watching, I was awestruck at hole 1 when I watched three flocks of Canada geese fly a couple feet above my head to successfully touchdown into the pond nearby. A couple holes were in okay shape, but the majority were pretty beat up, with lots of crab grass, exposed dry dirt, and weeds on the fairway, cracks and sand on the greens, and missing women's tee indicators (holes 3 and 4). After poorly teeing off at hole 8 (a combination of skill and grass being too tall), my friend grew very frustrated and we decided to call it quits. The course has potential. Apparently, they're under new management so they plan on doing a complete makeover; I look forward to coming back in a couple years once the renovations are complete. I think they should have definitely charged less considering the conditions that course was in, somewhere around $20 was more fair.
