One of the best dining experiences in Ensenada. Not only was the food delicious and incredible, but the service and staff were fantastic. Standout menu items include: Tortilla Soup (Sopa de tortilla), the Potato + Shrimp Soup (Crema de papa con camarón), Risotto and Steak (Risotto con arrachera) and the lamb chops (Chuletas de borrego). The ambiance of the entire place is stunning. Outdoor dining with lights in the trees is truly perfect. Can't wait to go back!

Great seafood in a garden atmosphere followed by a good customer service. Good variety of local craft beers.

Glad to have patron this restaurant during our Baja vacation. The food was cooked and plated with excellence. Must orders: duck risotto & octopus taco. Risotto wasn't great BUT the duck was amazing. It tasted like beef, juicy and tender, not gamy or chewy. The octopus taco was only good but the plating of the food was what made it worth ordering. We also ordered the yellow tail sashimi since that was the only option and oysters. Both dishes were fresh and delicious. Never had oysters with soy sauce but the combination was very palatable. My 16yo ordered the New York steak. The meat was cooked and seasoned wonderfully but too much fat. Tip: The restaurant brings out jicama with 3 hot sauces. Beware of the orange sauce, extremely spicy but extremely addicting. Also, there is no English menu and staff speaks limited English so good luck to those that do not speak or understand Spanish. Ambiance of the restaurant is very casual and relaxing with lots of greeneries that set a good vibe. I personally think the service could have been better since we had to track down another waiter after waiting 15 minutes for our server to return. There was also no refill on the craft of water or coffee. Nor did our server ask if we wanted more. The best part, our total bill came out to about $151USD. For this type of meal and culinary skill, it was very affordable. Overall, a real local gem!

The owner here, Javier, is a gracious host that has set up a beautiful ambiance. With the large, old trees swaying in the breeze overhead, the bocci ball court on the deck below and a menu that can satisfy all food preferences, this place is a hit. We came to Ensenada last November and it's the only place we repeated except for Animalon. What draws us here is the bone marrow tacos. Four gigantic bones come with corn tortillas, a delicious pico de gallo finely chopped, carmelized red onions and a trio of hot sauces if you want them. Don't tell Javier, but in the states they would charge $20 and here it is $9. We also had the mushroom risotto which was rich and creamy, but the star was the seared, sliced duck breast on top. It was crispy, perfectly cooked and seasoned and made a great pairing. We split both and my husband and I both walked away full.

Oh what a treat this place is! So happy we decided to try this place based on the recommendations of a couple friends who live down in Ensenada. Everything we had (Except the flank steak tacos) was amazing. We got tomahawk steaks, lamb risotto, shrimp pasta, octopus tacos, sashimi, ceviche, fried mushrooms, asparagus & 2 different deserts- we ordered a lot!! Everything we ordered was fantastic, really fantastic! I would definitely come back. The ambiance is nice, big open air with big 3 sections to eat at. The service was good & the waiter made good recommendations. If you're down in Ensenada & looking for a relatively upscale place that won't disappoint- look no further. Happy eating!

Great vibe, good service, food good but not amazing. Grilled oysters gratinee were fantastic, but skirt steak tacos and pork loin in adobo just meh.. especially for the price. I might go again, but be much more strategic with my food choices.

Simply incredible. A truly enchanting, unforgettable dining experience. Hats off to Javier aka Javi and his team for what they've created. The location is magical. Hiding in plain sight behind concrete walls and a wine shop is an outdoor wonderland: gorgeous trees, string lights, and comfortable seating. The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming. Though it was our first time, we felt like regulars. Actually, we felt like family. Though there was a QR code menu, Javi asked how hungry we were and if we had any dietary restrictions. Then he chose two perfect dishes. 1) Grilled zucchini topped with feta, sun dried tomatoes, and olive oil. It was simply perfect. Tender, flavorful, delicate, and balanced. Light and delicious - the perfect way to start our meal. 2) Seabass: grilled to absolute perfection. As fresh as can be, well-seasoned, and paired with risotto and salad. The former was creamy, rich deliciousness and the lighter provided a great contrast to the other elements on the plate. By the way, you get a perfect side dish of jicama topped with spice and three distinct salsas to compliment your meal. 3) Dessert! corn cake. Sublime. Not too sweet or decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. It's hard to imagine someone not falling in love with this restaurant. A must-visit when in Ensenada. Cannot wait for our next visit so we can try more of the menu, enjoy the dining space, and of course, connect with the amazing staff. Thank you!

Great place for dinner with a big group in Ensenada, with a great outdoor space beneath some trees with large tables. They do family style and will bring you out a few of each dish based on how many people you have. Our waiter made suggestions for all of our dishes and did a great job with the amount of food and selections - we loved everything we ate! For food we got: - Ahi tuna: really amazing seasoning on the outside, a mix of blackened and sesame seeds, and seared slightly so not totally raw with a side salad - Brie quesadilla: never would have thought to put Brie into a quesadilla but it was delicious, one of my favorite items - Spinach and artichoke dip: this was almost like a deconstructed artichoke dip with the artichokes on top of tomatoes, cheese, and avocado with some type of oil and herb based sauce on top and bread to eat it with. It was very refreshing. - Fish: very light in an Asian inspired soy based sauce - Octopus tacos: people loved this and it comes on a fun build your own board, but I could eat because I'm allergic - Scallops: also a favorite of the night from the table - Sausage tacos: surprisingly very good although not the type of sausage I expected them to come with - more of a hot dog type of situation - Steak frites: fries had delicious seasoning and steak was also good but I'm not a huge steak person Drinks: - carajillo: very delicious with strong coffee, will definitely put a pep in your step! - Mezcal drink with cucumber and pineapple maybe: refreshing and tasty - Whiskey drink: some people got a purplish whiskey drink in a coupe glass that was also delicious Our table ordered plenty for the group of 10 and about 3 drinks each and it was such a reasonable price. Great vibes, food, service And would definitely come back!

Had an amazing time at Boules. We hung out with the owner and enjoyed a few yummy dishes, huitlacoche tacos, artichoke, tomato and avocado terrine and some lovely lamb chops. Nice atmosphere, friendly people. Can't wait to go back and have a game!

Tasty food, good service and very cozy. As a foreigner my husband and I often get confused/wonder what is written in the menu because we barely speak the language but adventurous enough to explore the area. The owner came to our rescue and explain the menu. A very friendly guy and accommodating! Gets 5 star in my book not only for accommodation but because the food is absolutely tasty!

The last time my friends attempted to eat here, the restaurant was full and it will take at least a 30 minute wait to get seated. Today, the 21st of November was our lucky day as we were craving the freshest ceviche Ensenada has to offer and experiencce the five star rating Muelle 3 was known for. Our party of 4 chose to sit outside to eat lunch on this cool, cloudy Friday afternoon and be exposed to the sights and sounds of this busy commercial and fishing port. Within minutes of getting settled, our free appetizer - Tortilla Espanola and a plate full of lemon & lime slices with an oyster shell-full of sea salt and chili powder occupied the center of our table. Then came the Ceviche de la casa. A winner in my book of ceviches! Plus a coaster-sized, fresh off the pan tortilla chips gave it a unique serving style. We had to order another bowl of tortillas because eating ceviche without it just won't be the same. The Calamar frito were perefectly breaded, without excess flour and grease in every bite. Another winner! Last but not the least is the Pasta de Mar with the clams of different sizes and pre-cut scallops in the their shell. Muy Delicioso! More hungry patrons started arriving and we still got prompt service. I will make it a point to grab a satisfying seafood dish or two here the next time I visit Ensenada whether by car or by cruise ship.

My fellowship, a cluster of mere mortals with taste far keener than foresight, insisted we seek a place foretold in gustatory prophecy: La Cocedora de Langosta. I assented, though the sea had begun to speak again. A cruel trick of salt and memory. We arrived. The lobster was not served--it presented itself. Shell split like prophecy fulfilled, meat steaming with tales older than Atlantis. The ceviche? Lime and fire in perfect alchemy. It hissed in my mouth like the last words of a betrayed siren. A whole fish, fried until its soul ascended, left bones so clean they could be used in ritual. Angels wept; I salted accordingly. The risotto arrived next, not on a plate but in a chalice. Each bite stirred marrow and memory, comfort and command. My sea legs stood straighter. My resolve thickened. Libations flowed--freely, fervently, faultlessly. The chalice refilled itself (or perhaps the staff were trained in illusion and replenishment). Laughter, clinking glass, and something close to joy dared to rise. Staff were keen-eyed adepts, operating with the grace of trained familiars. The atmosphere carried hints of volcanic enchantment and citrus optimism. Barry the Brave Muffin Baker--my misguided nemesis-ally--might have found peace here. Or at least, a decent aioli. Verdict: A rare convergence of flesh, flavor, and fate. Five stars scorched upon the firmament by my hand. I may never return. But that's only because the enchantment forbade it.

The original location was where the modern fish taco was born supposedly. It all started when Mesoamericans nixtamalized maize, which became flatbreads. Eventually it led to corn tortillas, which were used to hold various fillings like seafood. The Spanish Colonial period introduced new ingredients and cooking techniques. Japanese fishermen in Baja California during the early 20th century helped popularize tempura-style frying. Seafood vendors brought batter fish to the mercado in the 50s/60s, which became a hit. Then a San Diego State University student opened the first Rubio's a couple decades later, and now fish tacos are enjoyed by everyone today. I didn't spend much time here because I had to make it back onto the cruise ship. But as someone who appreciates food and history, it was nice to walk around. The original mercado shuttered in 1967 and the vendors relocated to the waterfront, and eventually moved into the building you see now. Lots of stalls selling all different types of seafood. There's also restaurants nearby where you can order ceviche, cocteles, oysters, and other regional specialties. Thus we made a point to stop by for food during our second cruise stop in Ensenada, 4 days later. We discovered the large crowds were not in line waiting, but were instead enjoying their ceviche and other cold seafood while standing up. It made for a festive atmosphere, definitely ramping up the enjoyment of really great tasting seafood. The food stall is located facing the main road of Ensenada (walking distance from the cruise port) and is separated into two parts: the front serving seafood tostadas and the back serving cocktails and aquachiles. Each had different lines, with a common guy accepting payment after delivery. They have been doing this for a while (1981?) and things are efficient. I wanted one thing, which was the mixed cocktail with all the seafood available (campechano, a word I've come to love since moving to the LA area). They have 4 sizes from chico ($105) to jumbo ($360). The seafood mix is diced together ahead of time to save on time, and are mostly diced pretty fine. The mix is prepared fresh though, and was ready in about a minute. It was excellent, refreshing and just the right amount for me. I had wanted to try the seafood cocktail again from La Guerrerense (another nearby famous seafood stand), so that was our first stop during our second visit to Ensenada in 5 days. We then visited other sites in the area, saving El Guero for the end before we headed back to the ship. As expected the cocktail from Guerrerense was very good, but this version from El Guero was even better....better selection of seafood, and more finely mixed to give a better representation of the different textures of the freshness. That would make it the best seafood cocktail I've ever enjoyed.

They also brought complimentary chips, salsas, lime, and cabbage, plus ketchup and mayo on the side (we didn't end up using those). The tacos were simple but very well done. The fish and shrimp were fried fresh, light and crispy without being greasy. The shrimp was my favorite. The pico de gallo was fresh and flavorful, and the lime and cabbage added a good balance and crunch. I honestly wish I would've ordered their whole fried fish because it looked incredible, but there's no way two people could've finished it in one sitting. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff were extremely attentive. The service felt high-class in the sense that they were very respectful and treated the experience with care, almost like a fine dining environment, while still being approachable.
