Absolutely DO NOT hire "Pianos for Humanity" or anyone associated with "Jay" for any piano-related…read moreservices. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had with any service provider, and it resulted in significant damage to both my home and a beautiful vintage instrument. I acquired a 64-year-old Yamaha piano from FB and foolishly contacted Pianos for Humanity for moving, cleaning, and tuning, based on a $600 quote. What I got was a complete and utter disaster. "Professional" is the last word I would use to describe this operation. It was essentially one mover plus Jay, who is not a mover, with a truck, and zero expertise. The first red flag should have been when they asked me to help move the piano. Then, Jay had the audacity to ask me to call my friends to find another person to assist! This was during a workday, so obviously, I couldn't find anyone. Despite sending photos of my narrow staircase in advance, upon arrival, Jay put on an act and suggested I just give him the Yamaha and take one of his smaller spinets instead! This should have been my cue to cancel everything, but I unfortunately I didn't. The "move" itself was a horrifying display of incompetence. I nearly got crushed between the piano and the wall due to their complete lack of technique. The result? A hole punched in my wall, gouges all over my stairwell walls, and the once pristine Yamaha now bears numerous scratches and chips. They also scratched my hardwood floors from dragging the metal piano wheels, stained my white baseboards beige after dropping a wood stain bottle, and then, to add insult to injury, slicked up my floor with WD-40 leaking from his bag! And for this carnage, they still had the nerve to charge me the full $600! "Jay" calls himself "the piano man," but he demonstrated zero respect for this beautiful piece of history. He is hostile, unprofessional, and utterly clueless about proper piano handling. Please, please, PLEASE avoid "Pianos for Humanity" and "Jay" at all costs. Even if you're considering buying a piano from him, I implore you to hire a reputable, professional moving company. I doubt he would show any regards for the instruments once a sale is made. This experience was a nightmare from start to finish, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I don't usually write reviews but after over a month since we traded in our old upright piano and…read morepurchased a new piano I just felt it would be helpful to others to know our experience with Bruce and the PianoCenter of the Rockies. In a nutshell all my wife and I have to say is positive. Here is why. When trading in our old piano we did research online to see what our piano was worth. Bruce beat all of those estimates by a few hundred dollars. When we decided to purchase a CLAVINOVA Piano we compared prices and PianoCenter price was ether the same or less expensive than the other stores in the Fort Collins area and the same price as online stores. When the piano was delivered the delivery people were professional and helpful in setting the piano up in the exact location that we wanted. Also they were very professional in moving out our old piano. Also the delivery window they gave us was within an hour and they were at our door right on time. Since this was our first digital piano we had lots of questions once we started using the Clavinova. Bruce always had the time to answer our questions and to this day when my wife has a question about the piano or trying to figure it out she just stops by the store and Bruce happily works with her to figure everything out. When we purchased the piano without asking Bruce gave us all the bonuses the Yamaha had available. Included with the piano was four free piano lesson. Svetlana was my wife's piano teacher. She is great. Really knows how to teach all types of music genre. She also makes the lessons fun and is so good that my wife is now taking weekly lesson from her and I must say my wife piano playing is quickly improving. Finally, I also notice when Bruce sold our old Piano his price was very reasonable, especially when considering the price he paid for it. Both my wife and I feel very lucky to have a customer relationship with Bruce and Svetlana. If you are interested in purchasing a Yamaha Piano or a used piano I suggest you take the time and check out PianoCenter of the Rockies. Thank You Bruce and Svetlana. CG

We have been doing business with Bruce and The Piano Center of the Rockies for several years. Our…read morefirst purchase was a Clavinova for our church. Bruce was extremely helpful in leading us to a decision on which piano best fit our needs. The delivery was right on time and went smoothly. We enjoyed the piano we bought for the church so much that we decided to get one for our home as well, and Bruce worked with us again on price and delivery. Not only that, but we already had a piano at home that we wanted to give to our daughter who lived about 100 miles away, and Bruce arranged to have the delivery people pick up our old piano and deliver it to my daughter for a very small fee. That saved us a lot of time and trouble. Over the years since we purchased the two pianos there have been several instances where we had questions or needed guidance in doing some things with them. Every time we called, Bruce was more than happy to help us out and spent whatever time needed. Those experiences would have been enough for us to give Bruce a Five-Star rating, but our most recent experience went above and beyond. We moved to a new home a few months ago, and when we tried to turn on the Clavinova for the first time after the move, it would not turn on. We had to get a repairman to come and fix it, and it turned out that the problem was caused be a screw that was not properly installed during the manufacturing process. The unit was long out of warranty, but since it was a problem that had been there all along and had just not shown up until it was moved, Bruce agreed to share the cost of repairs with us. He had no obligation to do so, but did what he thought was right, and so we are now even more loyal customers than we were before.

I called every piano shop and tuner from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins and in between. I also reached out to shops in Michigan and Atlanta. Each call made me feel I was never going to find what I wanted. .. "Hard to come buy, hard to find in good condition, will be an arm and a leg to move and tune." Finally I stumbled on an ad on Craigslist for two piano's (neither my first choice, but close). They were both Goheen Piano's. When I called, I was told that there were a couple of appointments scheduled that afternoon and they would let me know if either were available after the appointments. Both were sold that day. But Fred was awesome. He talked to me about what I was looking for and said he would put my name down and if he came up with anything in the next several weeks he would call. That was a Thursday...he called me on Saturday and had my dream piano. You can say it was luck...but I could tell it was the relationships he had built with his customer base. We went the next day to look at it and bought it on the spot. Fred and his son delivered it that day (as Sunday mind you). If you want an honest transaction with a highly skilled pianist and piano technician and absolutely no pressure, ...look no further. I highly recommend Fred and Goheen Pianos, without reservation."
