I will try to make this brief, because I could go on -and- on about my complaints about living in that complex; it was awful. First, I was moved into a unit that was not at all "move-in ready". The door could have easily been kicked in as it did not have a secure lock. The staffs' response showed no regard for my security. It took almost two weeks, and my door not being able to lock for it to finally be replaced. Besides not having safety as their first priority, the staff was very unsuccessful in their attempts to appear professional. The smallest of requests failed to be addressed and it took near harassment to have issues resolved. Besides the subpar staffing, the rent was over-priced for the "slap some paint on it" approach the apartment complex has. Personally, the pool was what sold me, but factor in that it was always dirty and only one hot tube barely worked, it's not a selling point. Those are just a few things I encountered during my short stay at Boulder Creek. I am hoping you do your research and decide to find a better place to live. My stay at Boulder creek was okay as long as I didn't have to deal with the staff or have maintenance issues because they are rude and take too long to repair things. I also just moved out and they are keeping my $500 security deposit. I spent a full day trying to leave the apartment as clean as possible but that didn't matter they keep it all and are charging me $50 more. This is the poorest run apt complex in riverside. The management is so poor and behave so unprofessional that it is a renters nightmare. No water for hours and hours several times a month and nothing ever gets fixed. If you ask office staff anything they become aggressive and yell. The roaches and rats are everywhere. The place is half empty and those of us that are stuck here are dealing with over emotional and unprofessional staff. Oh..... the ceilings leak if that matters. read more

We have issues with our sinks/tub drain clogging and Brandon Hurd was out here day of, replaced our cracked drawer and unclogged our drains, while also giving us a nice AC air freshener. I have been living in this community for a number of years now & I'm kicking myself because I don't know what I am still doing here when I know the issue within this community is a huge one. The issue within this community is the constant shutting off of the water. I have read the number of negative reviews below about it & I could not agree more. Boulder Creek has not done a good job with resolving the plumbing issue because it was a problem 3 years ago & it is still a problem to this day! There was a time during my 2nd year here when the water was abruptly shut off while I was still in the shower. Imagine the frustration that caused. Luckily I had extra bottles of drinking water which I had to use...sad! I understand when it's an emergency situation, but as for the case with Boulder Leak, it happens so much that I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. The term " emergency," in association with the water, is used loosely here because it happens too often. Management needs to step up & resolve this issue if they still want to keep a steady flow of happy tenants. As I sit writing this I'm disappointed because to no surprise they will be shutting the water off yet again all day today for the second time this month for maintenance because of a failure within the main line. Renters Beware: Your water will be shut off for emergency maintenance purposes. Holes will then be drilled deep into the grounds here in an attempt to fix the busted pipes. It will then be patched & covered up with a fresh layer of concrete only to be uncovered & drilled again in a short period of time. This is how the cycle goes over here. I'm already anticipating the next time I'll see a notice wedged between my door that reads, "water shut off." The plumbing here is lackluster to say the least. Save yourself the trouble & inconvenience. However, the majority of the staff here are very friendly. They have been very helpful & kind to me. 9/20/19 Barely a week in from my last post & the water has been shut off yet again. 9/24/19 3 times in one month! The water is shut off again without notice & according to management there is nothing they can do. Well for anyone looking to live here there is something you can do...look elsewhere! 9/27/19 Water turned off due to another water leak from 1:30pm-3pm. This place constantly causes inconveniences for those who live here. Recently undergoing repainting which is understandable. However, what really upsets me is that for maybe 7 months it seems like the water is being shut off constantly. The old ownership would notify when the water would be off and include when it would be back on. Now it's random. Need to do your dishes? Nope. Wash your hands? Nope. Shower and hygiene? Nope. Another thing that I dont know if other residents experience is water leaking from the ceiling when running the AC. I've had them "fix" it multiple times by very kind handymen who are great people, but it seems to keep leaking. Hopefully they focus more on the residents than repainting the complex. read more

Lived here in 2018 for 10 months and the day we moved out was the happiest in our lives. This is a rat trap(they get you stuck in bad apartments that look decent). The water is always off but they never offer you anything more than a "notice". The improvements that the manager made were laughable and inconvenient but she acted like she was gifting the complex. The maintainability that needed to be done on the pool gates, laundry room doors, the pool/jacuzzi, the broken grills and the flooding in the complex was never addressed while we were there. The complex is crawling with cockroaches no matter how clean you keep your patio and apartment. We had a mouse/rat problem the whole time we lived there and it was never taken care of except to put out traps across the complex(big shock it didn't do anything). The kicker to this was the day we moved out we heard a whole nest full of mice/rats in the ceiling above our kitchen. Avenue5 is the management property and they're just as useless and Boulder Creek staff, I can't believe how much stress they put us through from the very beginning. They were unprofessional and stressful from day one but housing in Cali for a family is hard so we took the chance. I had to fight with them over everything even the background search were THEY attached the wrong person to my husbands background search and claimed we were denied but still pocketed our money. I had to go through legal recourse just to get the to acknowledge that THEY had put the wrong man with a whole different social on my husbands background check. Once they ran it properly we were cleared like we should have been but the fact that they made me do their jobs and put that stress on me is unacceptable. The staff could easily be replaced by robots and the interaction would be more pleasant. The entire management team and company needs to be replaced or the whole place should be ripped down because it's obviously a money pit. It's sad for me to see that 2 years later the reviews haven't improved and have actually gotten worse. Only move here if you are beyond desperate. read more

I am currently looking for an apartment and could say that boulder creek offered many of the traits that I was looking for. It has a nice pool area, fitness center and in-unit laundry! The location is great, since it is right near downtown (so when going-out Uber isn't expensive lol). But what was the most impressive was the management. Anthony (Ant) was amazing! He was professionally charming and was prepared to answer any and all questions we had, even the harsh ones. If I did make the decision to move here, I know I would be in good hands, thanks to him. read more

I have been at Boulder Creek for 15 months, and I have always had a splendid experience with the management! We went through a short rocky period where we transitioned between management companies, but our new property managers are phenomenal. I don't believe in fluff pieces or flattery, and I mean it when I say that Anthony and Rachel are sensational. Rachel has only been here for 3 1/2 weeks, and she is consecutively tackling every issue brought to her attention on the micro and macro scale. One particular problem has been ongoing for me for a few months, and all it took was one email to her, and she proactively gave me the empathy, tools, and resources needed to address the problem. I know she has my back, along with every tenant in good standing. On the same note, Anthony looks out for everyone here. He's always excited to see me when we bump into each other around the property, and he makes me feel uniquely welcome when I drop in to say hi to the front office. Anthony has been looking out for me ever since he joined the team and we are definitely privileged to have him. The issues detailed by prior tenants on Yelp are either misleading or are on the way out the door, for good. Anthony and Rachel are rolling out the red carpet for the community of people who live here. Although we generally have a prevalence of bugs outside, as with anywhere else, if one is cognizant of their screen door and refrains from leaving trash strewn about, it's not an issue. I've had an indoor bug once in my 15 months at Boulder Creek, which was entirely my fault for leaving the door open too long. The maintenance has always been quick to respond, and have even left their dinner tables to come to my unit during an after-hours emergency. We do occasionally have our water shut off for repair, but always with ample notice by both email and door postings. Boulder Creek has always been transparent in what they do, and Anthony and Rachel are pulling out all the stops to make our community and living experience better. read more

Lived here for two years, my lease is up in November but will be moving out sooner. This place is horrible, water gets shut off at least once a month or there's no hot water (without notice) When I call the maintenance number to try and advise of the water issues i get a response of "how are we suppose to inform all residents" ok but when rent is due they are quick to be available! parking is horrible!!! There's a tenant that has a dealer and keeps all his cars parked in the visitor section which makes it hard for visitors to find parking. There's homeless people that come in and shower In the pool and jacuzzi!!!!! I have witness people from other apartments coming over to this complex to use the pool and have their gatherings. This place is such a headache!! DONT BE FOOLED BY THE CHEAP PAINT JOB (single coat that peeled off within 2 months) the apartments are old, something is always wrong... and don't expect maintenance to come to the rescue they will tell you "they have other orders and will get to yours eventually" ever since this new management took over everything went to shits. The new management sucks, the manager Michelle is super unprofessional and needs to find another line of work where is not dealing with the public. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!!!! Boulder Creek is an awesome place to live. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Anthony at the front desk is a stellar young man who always has a smile on when I need something.
