Holiday Seasonal Iced Cookie Three Pack of Cookies
    Diane W.

My friend and I stopped by for lunch, after a bit of holiday shopping. It was so busy inside. We have both been here many times and couldn't believe how long the line was. It took about 30 minutes before we got to the register. They started off with two cashiers then added a third. That made the line move a bit faster. We placed our order and were given a number to put at our table so when our food was ready, it would be delivered to us. I love their sourdough bread here. You have the option to also buy bread to take home. They have many shapes of their sourdough bread and also have cinnamon raisin bread and a seasonal stuffing bread. We both ordered the 1/2 delux roast beef dip and a bowl of soup combo. For our soup we chose the tomato. The rustic tomato soup is my favorite. I also purchased a loaf of the stuffing bread to take home. The rustic stuffing bread has sage, rosemary, cranberry and parsley loaded into soft, chewy rustic sourdough loaf. It's delicious. We found a table to sit at and placed our number on top. Our food was delivered within 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad, considering how busy it was. Our food was fresh and hot. The soup was so comforting and delicious as usual. My 1/2 sandwich was very hearty with roast beef, caramelized onions, cheese and horseradish spread. It was served with a side of au jus. We both enjoyed our lunch very much. Customer service here is also very good. The cashier helping me was so sweet and kind. I loved her positive attitude. The inside of the restaurant has lots of tables and booths for seating as well as outdoor seating.

Went to order soup for delivery and noticed it taken off their doordash menu. Called to see if it was in stock and it was and asked why I couldn't order and the employee didn't know how to add it back to the menu without calling a corporate office. Feels silly, management should maybe help their employees a bit more and keep the menu updated. Updated from 1 Star: Whoever saw my last review and added soup back to the menu within 30 minutes...THANK YOU! You're amazing and I appreciate it. I'm so sick and can't leave the house and I now have soup on the way. Have an AMAZING day boudin angels.

Our local Boudin's, have been here many times just never reviewed. Service was friendly, came out pretty quickly, and everyone enjoyed their food. We love getting fresh baked bread and the kids enjoy coming here. Will continue to come back.

Our first time here! The food was pretty good, we really enjoyed the clam chowder and the street fries. The Caprese sandwich had great flavor, though the bread was a bit too hard for us. There's indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice touch, and it was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Service was a little slow, but everyone was kind. Donna at the front was especially sweet and welcoming! With a bit quicker service, this place could really shine!!

I got the brie/apple/fig jam melt and their two styles of fries (pictured). I had had a similar sandwich elsewhere which was amazing so I was really excited to see this one on the menu but the apple slices were too thick, it just didn't come together into a pleasant bite. The fries were disappointing, flavor/quality as well as the size. I mean this special version with the ranch sauce and the chili, just look at them, it's barely anything for $6.50 compared to the already overpriced $5 for plain. Plus everything was ready earlier than the scheduled pickup time, and with no warmer or anything for waiting food that meant everything was cold. I was excited to try Boudin but won't be going back.

Pictures speak a thousand words. One piece of chicken on this sandwich..... literally bread with pesto. Thank you.

This Boudin is located in the Almaden Fashion Plaza (or what it was called when we lived in the area). It is close to Blaze Pizza. I popped in to pick up some Irish soda bread. "Crusty golden brown exterior, with a dense, tight crumb. The bread itself isn't heavy. It's actually quite tender and soft inside. Slightly sweet and loaded with raisins. It goes well with jam, butter, and/or cheese."

Order: California Veggie with sliced sourdough (instead of multigrain default) and mixed greens (instead of plain chips) 15 mins between ordering and receiving the order. Although I was sitting in front, they didn't seen to notice me and after 15 minutes I decided to stand 2 inches away from the counter and they finally noticed me after a bit and assumed correctly my order name and handed it to me. How long was my order ready for? How is a place known for bread make such bad bread? The rest on the sandwich was great but the bread completely killed it. The whites of the bread were so thin and airy that without the crust it might have just fallen apart completely. And the crust...oh the crust...I felt like I was chewing for hours. That crust was harder to chew than cardboard. The salad was good, the vinaigrette sauce was good. The things in the sandwich and the sandwich sauce was good. The bread is something I really can't get over. There was a lot of seating but it was unclear if you had to be seated or if you could just go in to sit since I ordered to go.

A wonderful Greek salad. It looked better before I mushed up the hummus.

Always great service, and always great food! This place is so busy that they can't keep up with busing the tables. However, the service is always awesome and the food never fails.!

One my favorite spots for a salad, soup and cheese sandwich is this restaurant. The food is always delicious and fresh , and the service and the ambiance are both wonderful.

They're best known for their famous Burnt Almond Cake, though they also offer a variety of other pastries. Personally, I come here just for the cake. They sell it by the slice or cupcakes, and they also have whole cakes ready to go. If you're looking for a custom cake, though, be sure to place your order in advance. Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by to pick up a few cakes to bring home for my family, but I can probably eat a whole cake to myself lol. Their prices are still surprisingly reasonable, which makes it even more worth the trip.

We ended up getting three burnt almond cake slices (2 vanilla 1 chocolate) and some brownies. The brownies were pretty good, balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet and I enjoyed the walnuts, but it was a very fudge like texture and I prefer my brownies to be slightly more cake-y and airy. If you like fudge brownies you'd like these. My issue was the burnt almond cake, both vanilla slices were on the dry side. The chocolate slice had a hint of chocolate otherwise tasted exactly the same. The almonds and cream were fine, I would've preferred stronger almond flavor. Was meh. Price is good at $5 for a hefty slice. If I'm in the area maybe I'd go back, otherwise it was about the same as a Safeway cake slice.

That said, they're constantly restocking, and the staff has a well-oiled system down. Even when it's busy, things move surprisingly efficiently. PASTRIES/BAKED GOODS: 9/10 I love their pastries and baked goods! I honestly haven't had anything that was a miss for me, whether it's savory or sweet. Everything I've tried has been delicious. FOOD/MEALS: 8/10 As for their meals, I thought they were good, but not quite as memorable as the pastries. I ordered the avocado toast, and while it was hearty and generously loaded, I felt like there was just a little too much going on. Both the salad and the toast were dressed a bit too heavily for my taste. COFFEE: 8/10 I also really enjoy their coffee. My go-to is the Latte Einspänner, and it pairs perfectly with their pastries. You can really taste the quality of the espresso, and I appreciate that it's not overly sweet. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff is quick, efficient, and constantly on the move. As I mentioned, they run like a well-oiled machine, even during the morning rush. AMBIANCE: 8/10 Seats fill up fast! If you're planning to dine in and you spot an open table, have someone in your group grab it while the other orders; tag-team it, lol. I also love the overall aesthetic. The wooden tables, sky blue and yellow color palette, and bright space make it feel warm and inviting. I was SOOOO sad and disappointed just by the appearance of them when arriving, they were all burnt! You can't tell me they are supposed to look like this because nowhere on their website or instagram to they advertise them with black tops. I purchase Pastel de Nata quite frequently from my local bakery in San Leandro and since we were finally in San Jose, I was SO excited at the opportunity to try new ones from this "popular bakery" and I'm confused on how these sell? I ordered 13 pastel de Nata (6 traditional & the remaining a mix of all the flavors they offer) I'd hope when packing my boxes they'd attempt to throw some in there that weren't burnt from the top but the pictures speak for themselves. The burnt top ruins the taste of the pastry itself. The filling to crust ratio isn't it. Needs more custard or a slightly thinner crust. Attaching photos for reference. We also arrived at 11am (1.5 hours after they opened) and there was literally only 1 malasada left, I'm so happy it happened to be dulce de leche which I wanted and purchased it. My husband, son, and I LOVED it! That's the reason for the 1 star (although I can't give less) I'd recommend they make more Malasadas and less Pastel de Nata to keep up with the demand, a couple families walked in after me and walked right out when they realized there weren't any in stock and they genuinely taste better then the Pastel de Nata, you can tell that's where the high ratings come from and why they are popular. Overall - would recommend 1000% skipping the pastel de Nata unfortunately it does not taste anything like the ones I've had before. Not a true reflection of what it should taste/look like. We made the drive super excited to finally come and try and ignore the reviews saying it wasn't the best just to confirm they were correct.

We walked into a cozy, compact space with shelves filled with freshly baked breads, pastries, and prepared foods, all arranged in a way that makes you want to browse slowly even though the shop is small. The atmosphere has that simple, welcoming feel reminiscent of the small bakeries you find throughout Japan, focusing more on quality and variety than on a large café setup. Seating is limited, so it is better suited for grabbing something to go rather than spending a long time inside. The biggest draw here is the combination of Japanese baked goods and savory items. The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.

Of course husband last minute says day of birthday celebration that we need a cake. Found Izumi…read moreCakes on Yelp and was bummed at first because the soonest online reservation for a cake would be two days later. Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.
