I quite often visit Boucher Retail Park in Boucher Crescent, off Boucher Road as it has wonderful things to buy at brilliant prices. Simply. There is a lot to browse and buy here.
Boucher Retail Park, Boucher Crescent, is excellent for city residents and persons visiting Belfast alike. It is situated only a few minutes easy, hassle free drive from the Stockmans' Lane / Balmoral / West Belfast Kennedy Way M1 motorway exit and entrance. One thing to note is that the only problem that could be experienced traffic wise is if you are returning in the direction of the M1 motorway between about 4.25 and 5.50 on weekday afternoons when Boucher Road traffic in the direction of the M1 only can be slow moving.
Parking is easy and free at Boucher Retail Park. There is a bus also.
Very good quality items, whether famous brands or not, are to be found in places like
Sports Direct,
Nevada Bobs golf shop,
Matalan clothes and homeware and travel gear,
Next clothes and homeware,
T.K. Maxx clothes, travel gear and homeware,
Cotswold Outdoors travel gear, adventure gear and outdoors gear,
InStore homeware,
Au Naturale homeware,
New Look clothes,
The Jeanery clothes,
Boots pharmacy and health and beauty store,
Burton clothes.
These are not all of the stores, but just what I remember as I'm writing this review.
It's an experience, too. As a place to shop it's not interesting to look at compared to a Victorian and modernist city centre, for example. People who say it's like visiting a warehouse sale outlet aren't so inaccurate. But the contrast in this character really 'makes' this really simple, rewarding place to visit, I think. It's an easy place to shop in. The vicinity is quite natural and green, with a cool grassy, reedy character near the (tiny, mostly unseen) Blackstaff River so this can be a simple, pleasant place to visit. Parking is really easy, there are buses, there are simple options for refreshment or eating out.
For rest, refreshments, coffee or eating:
When you visit you can have a snack, drink, coffee or tea and a cake in either Starbucks Coffee Shop or a good cafe in the large clothes shop The Jeanery. Which is good for visits, but is not a great choice in Boucher Retail Park itself, unfortunately, as you could be shopping in the large places over a few hours, even most of the day with company (T.K. Maxx alone has so many nice clothes to offer, for example). However, there are a few other options not far away. The excellent Browns Bar and Restaurant is close by, not in Boucher Retail Park, but a part of the nearby Boucher Centre (a smaller development) on the front of the main road, Boucher Road (which includes Maplin Electronics and a bank.) It's no more than 10 minutes walk from Matalan. Browns serves excellent food at good prices, lunches to dinner time, and is a nice place for drinks also. 'The Curry Club' (meal offer, not a club), Mondays to Thursdays only (all day), is a delicious good sized Chinese style curry with rice and a drink for less than 6 pounds. I recently had their vegetarian curry and it was easily the best or second best meal I have ate out in around a year
Also, part of Boucher Centre, beside Browns Bar and Restaurant is Peppers delicatessen and sandwich bar, open if you visit Boucher Retail Park before late afternoon, and Subway sandwich bar and deli, open to late evening time.
Another lovely option, its a further 10 minutes walk from Browns Bar and Restaurant, quick in the car with free parking, is Dekko cafe. Lovely food of all kinds - really good meals and wonderful cakes. For quiet tea or coffee and a sandwiche, Marks and Spencer cafe is not far away on Boucher Road if you are driving.
It's very worth noting, if wondering about going to Boucher Retail Park in Boucher Crescent, that there are other large retail parks and stores on Boucher Road. I mentioned the Boucher Centre, close to this retail park. Also there is Shane Retail Park for homewares, D.I.Y. etc. (Homebase) and furniture. And then along Boucher Road there are large stores like B and Q, Halfords, Dekko furniture and homewares, a large electrical store not far, Marks and Spencer with a nice little cafe, a huge and really good J.J.B. Sports store, Harry Corry homewares and home fittings and more well regarded furniture stores. All of these places have their own, free parking.
Boucher Road is also particularly known for specialist home fittings and furnishing stores, and there are legions of these shops around here: home tile shops, wood flooring specialists, double glazing and home conservatories sellers, vinyl flooring and carpet shops, wallpaper stores, bathroom stores, fitted kitchen places - you name it it's here and there is a good choice from a number of shops in whatever area of home fitting you can think of. read more
