I, yesterday afternoon, was driven almost to depair in my quest to find a couple of items. A pair of hardy black trousers (not denim), and a sturdy pair of workboots.
It turns out that Mrs M has a store card for Matalan, which she offered to lend me but I completely forgot about, and left at home. But I was told that I'd definitely get my work stuff here, and indeed my last pair of workboots had been purchased here.
Womens' shoes and clothes of every variety disappearing off into the distance, as far as the eye can see. After spending a while trying to locate the mens' section, I found one shelf with shoes on it: shoes for wearing with a suit, in two colours. Nothing else, apart from some nice slippers.
Shopping stresses me out anyway, but you'd expect a shop that's the size of Belgium to have whatever you need, and moreover, to have clear directions to whatever you're looking for.
I found a pair of trousers, incidentally. I was asked for my Matalan card, and explained that I'd forgotten it. I then had to waffle on for ages 'til they let me buy them. Very kind of them.
