My friend and I came here after walking around the area. It was busy, but no wait. This was on a Sunday around 11am. First of all, they have a Bulldog portrait in the restaurant which automatically gets a star because I own a bulldog and love them. They also have many other things to look at; the décor is very fun. Side note this place was on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. My friend and I got the 'Strawberry & Lime' and 'Orange Creamsicle' fruit crushers. They were SO delicious and refreshing! I could have gotten a few of these. My friend got the 'Breakfast Burrito' which was Eggs, Potato, Monterey Jack, Salsa, Guac. She loved it. There is another local brunch spot that our party tried to go to with no reservation and we ended up here as they were able to seat us immediately. The Wake n Steak barely had any flavor and was cold. Even the Titan (which is supposed to be what they're known for) was cold. Parking can be tuff as the 12ave I knew is no longer. Maziozo's is folded and all this new construction has certainly overshadowed the cool vibe that once made this area clearly local. We choose Bottle Cap as my Father in-law like his Budweiser in a bottle and no other way or substitute will be tolerated. The atmosphere was quiet at about 430 pm on a Tuesday, but was slammed upon departure at 6pm. The inside is wide open and plenty of big TVs dot around the area. They also have outdoor seating availability. Our server Jack was cool as heck and was very attentive as well as personable. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad that was fresh and tasty. I ordered the Turkey club that was perfectly made with toasted sour dough. My father in law enjoyed his smashed patty ( no medium rare with smash burgers). The fries were good and the food was serviceable. I will definitely try the wings on the next trip. The place is built for and used by mostly the young college kids and tourists with open arms to locals willing to take a chance on getting near downtown on a weekday. Yesterday I walked into bottle caps feeling very unwell. I had surgery 48 hours prior and was still on a lot of pain meds and this was my first attempt at trying to get out of the house. Me and my family had been seated at brunch next door and it was very hot and stuffy in there. I immediately got extremely nauseous and left. My mom took me nextdoor to bottle caps and we immediately could tell the AC and fresh air in there was far better so she asked them if I could hang out until I was feeling better. Everyone working was so incredibly nice, they seated me next to a fan and brought me water. The bartender, whose name I did not get because I was so out of it, even made me some ginger ale based drink to try and help, and got me a cold wet rag to put on my forehead. The staff continued to check on me the whole time I was there. Genuinely so grateful for how kind they all were to me, especially considering I wasn't even a customer. When I'm feeling better I intend to go back and properly enjoy the bar and, more importantly, the amazing customer service. read more

On trendy 12 South, our out of town visitors wanted to eat here as they had seen it on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was another HOT Nashville evening so we sat inside where it was cool. However, the staff kept the doors open which allowed in a lot of annoying flies while we were eating. Unpleasant. The food was fair, nothing that excited me. My fish and chips was just ok, I didn't care for the bland fish or the tartar sauce. Our friend seemed to really like the Titan burger. The food is decent, it is one of the less busier restaurants in the area. You can get a bottle of champagne and OJ for about $25 which is a better deal than getting one mimosa for $8. Our waitress started out great as she brought two pitchers of water to our table which was much appreciated due to the heat. Well twenty minutes pass and we hadn't seen out waitress again so one in our party called the restaurant to let them know we had been forgotten. Not long after our waitress appeared apologizing for having forgotten our table and let us know that her manager wouldn't let her forget about what happened. About five minutes later our alcoholic drinks arrived and not long after that our food was delivered. Several people in the party got Buffalo chicken wraps and said they were good. I got the loaded carne asada fries with guacamole and was disappointed. The carne asada tasted and looked like chili that I could have gotten from Wendy's. Just very disappointed in presentation and taste. It was edible and I was starving so I ate it but for the price and description of the food, I was really expecting more. The waitress did comp one of the Buffalo chicken wraps for the wait but we planned on paying separately so that was confusing to sort out. First experience at Bottle Cap and I can assure you that it will not be our last! Bottle Cap is a small but mighty local neighborhood eatery and sports bar that has been sitting in the heart of 12 South since fall of 2020! Per staff, they celebrated their 1st birthday in mid-November 2021! Before we get too far, I want to expound on "small"...it isn't small in the coffee shop or food stall kind of way, but it is smaller than your average sports bar, and while it isn't the largest in size it is laid out well with all the space being used expertly to ensure as many folks as possible can enjoy this spot on those busy game days! Bottle Cap is essentially just one big dining room with a good sized bar on one end and garage doors that open to 12th Avenue on the other...and in between those two things you have a healthy mix of booths and high-tops, neon signs, cartoon caricature portraits, Route 66 style artwork, sports memorabilia and 14 TV's! The TV to table ratio is here is the best I have ever seen as there are only about 22 tables in the place and again, 14 TV's! This makes this spot the perfect sports bar as there is no way you will miss the game you are after! Food wise they serve up a lot of sports bar classics from sandwiches, burgers, wraps, wings, nachos and salads. In addition though, you will also find things like chicken and waffles, cheesesteak and one of my favorites, loaded fries! They also have a small brunch menu on Friday - Sunday from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM - you will find waffles, pancakes, burritos, omelets and even steak and eggs on this menu! We decided on some good ole fried food to help us deal with the cold and rainy day! I opted for the Buffalo Chicken Loaded Fries and my partner got the (3) Tenders tossed in Lemon Pepper sided with fries. The Buffalo Chicken Fries were simple and perfect! The fries and chicken were fried perfectly and crispy, the blue cheese dressing and crumbles were perfectly portioned and scattered as to not overwhelm the dish and the buffalo sauce coated everything wonderfully! Keeping this same energy, the tenders were absolute perfection! First off, they were the LARGEST tenders I have ever seen. They were meaty, crispy and coated expertly in that delicious lemon pepper seasoning/sauce! They offer a full bar with all the staples of a good bar with a decent selection of beers, wine and spirits. They did work hard on the signature cocktail list as it features 10+ house drinks and they even have a few house shots if you are in the mood to really party...or celebrate your teams victory or ease their loss! Service was phenomenal from entry to exit. The host was super welcoming and got us sat immediately. He also made sure to wish us a good day on our way out. Our server was excellent, as she was friendly, efficient, attentive and helpful! There is not much outdoor space, but on those good weather days you can sit on the entry patio which has a few bar stools or right out front where they have a couple of picnic tables that sit directly on 12 South. Only things that were a miss for us was the parking and single use bathrooms. I get space is of the essence, but for a busy sports bar, single stall/use restrooms is a killer. There was someone waiting for the restroom at every moment of our visit. And I understand parking is limited in the 12 South area, but that doesn't mean I am not annoyed by it! lol Luckily, the experience and food made us forget about these two little things! Overall, Bottle Cap is a cool spot that I can definitely see being a solid neighborhood bar for locals near and far!
