Hands down one of the best experiences we had on the Big Island. We got super lucky -- it ended up being just me and my boyfriend on the tour, and it felt like a completely personalized adventure from start to finish. The entire team was unbelievably nice. Not just polite -- genuinely warm, fun, and so welcoming. They took the time to get to know us, made us laugh, hyped us up, and really made the whole experience memorable. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in how they treat every guest. The ziplines were gorgeous, safe, and such a thrill, but the guides truly made it next level. It didn't feel rushed or routine at all. Instead, it felt like hanging out with friends who just happen to be amazing at their job. We loved it so much and would recommend this place in a heartbeat. We had such a great time here. It was super fun, and one thing I really appreciated is that the younger kids can go on the zip line with the professionals. It made them feel safe and still part of the adventure. And honestly, the last zip line was the funnest -- everyone was laughing and wanted to go again. This zipline must have the most beautiful views near Hilo and Reed and Kanani were exceptional guides allowing us to try fruit direct from the tree and capturing our photos for happy memories! Just a 15 minute drive from Hilo on the Big Island, this place is fantastic! They had 8 ziplines that progressively got us to use more skills that were "faster, longer, better" all leading up to the giant one over the gorge. We had two guides (Gavin & Orion) who were great, showing us plants of things we use in our kitchens once they're processed and some special flowering trees. Gavin had non-stop jokes that had the whole group laughing most of the way. I felt I was in good hands the entire time. We zipped over a stream, red jade flowers, African tulip trees, and a gorge with an incredible waterfall. After the zip lining we were able to tour the private lands including a nature walk with all kinds of trees and plants along with labels that have QR codes to give more info. This path led us to a hedge maze that I legit got lost in, ha! Hilo's been in a bit of a drought so the waterfalls and streams would be a lot bigger if we went after it's been raining. Amazing zip lining experience 30 minutes north of Hilo. We booked last minute but had a wonderful time, thanks to our experienced and fun guides - Ms. Kanani and Mr. Scott - and Mr. Justin, who was our driver. Over the course of 90 minutes, the eight of us - the two guides, our family of four, and a father and four year-old son (who were return customers!) - did a total of 9 zip lines and walked over a rickety suspension bridge. We slowly built up our skill and confidence, enjoying each others company, eating fruit we picked along the route (like guavas), and learned about native flora (like elephant apples, which we dropped into the water while zip lining!) and fauna we spotted along the way, like feral pigs, and a baby mongoose! I white knuckled the first few zip lines while my wife and daughters breezed through, but was able to nail the finale, an exhilarating mile long zip over a deep gorge with a gorgeous waterfall! Give yourself plenty of time because there's so much to see! I would go again in a heartbeat!

This zipline experience was really incredible. What struck me the most is the professional attitude we received from our guides. They know how to have fun while adhering to a strict code of safety standards. Elyse, Lish and AJ really are top of the line instructors and are very personable. From outfitting us with the proper harness setups, explaining proper safety protocols and clarity of instructions, these three really make ziplining a fun and secure experience. Not to mention how strong they must be from pushing us up and controlling the brake lines. Flying through the treetops and across the canyons, waterfalls, the ultimate bird's eye view, ziplining is something that needs to be experienced to truly appreciated. We're here in the tropics from the mainland flying through a Dr. Suess wonderland of plants and assorted vegetation.... The scenery here is awesome as well. Fantastic views and beautiful tropical greenery. I enjoyed picking my own starfruit, love the stuff! Way to go folks! Mahalo for the memories, I hope to return! read more

Our family of five had an absolutely fantastic time on this zip line adventure! We all loved it. Our guides--Kai, AJ, and Scott--were outstanding. They were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about the local plants and animals as we hiked between the lines. They kept the energy high with plenty of humor and fun banter, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. At the same time, they were very professional, and thorough with safety. The location is remote and beautiful. We started out with short easy zips and graduated to .50 mile with waterfall view. 8 zips total. Our guides were terrific! All very friendly and patient and John and Emma shared fun facts about the nature we were experiencing along the way. To visit the garden is $10 per person and there are free parking spots cross street from the shop (where you can pay and get map for the garden). Maybe I didn't come at right time, I arrived big island couple days after storm passed by, so I don't see a lot flowers in the garden, just pretty green. The waterfall you can drive a the way up to waterfall parking lot, however, from the parking lot you can only see partial waterfall. I guess most people here is to join the zip line tour, seems like the trail of zip line, you will have a better view of the waterfall. read more

The zip line was AMAZING!! Emma and Olivia were our guides and were so very friendly, encouraging, knowledgable, and funny. We were lucky enough to only have four in our group and let me tell you, small group is the way to go!!! The zip lines were fun, the area we explored was AMAZING, and the staff was top notch. I had such a blast! My tour guides were Lish and Scott, and Kelsey as the driver, and they were such fantastic people - incredibly friendly and constantly sharing knowledge and cracking jokes! This was my first time zip lining, and they made me feel safe and comfortable the entire time! It was super easy! There was not a single moment of fear or regret - not even when I got stuck on the last line and had to be rescued. The views were amazing and zip lining was so much fun! It was made even more fun by our wonderful guides. I can't even express how awesome and fun they are! They took pictures of us on the zip lines and sent them to us, as well as suggested photo ops, which I really appreciate, because my friend's phone broke on the last day of our Hawaii trip and we lost some of our pictures from the trip. Our tour guides planned the most beautiful jungle bike adventure for us. The tour included waterfalls, bridges over running streams, ocean views, a delicious picnic by a river, and sturdy bikes for the awesome ride. A lead guide in a car rode in front of us and a rear guide followed behind our group, to ensure that we were well taken care of, in case of accidents or injuries. My grandma and I had a great time! We were lucky enough to not have anyone else with us. Just AJ and John as our guides. Echo was our driver and she was the best! My grandma is into flora and fauna and John did a great job talking about the landscape. AJ had great info about the island as well. The ziplines were short at first, but got longer as you go. We also were able to get water at some spots which helped as well. There are stairs, and hills at some spots. We stayed in Waikaloa Village and my grandma stayed at The Bay Club near the Hilton. From her place it was about an hour and 25 minute drive, but it was a nice drive. The eastern side of the island is very lush. Would definitely do it again! Thank you! read more

I was terrified, I'd never been zip lining my husband really wanted to experience this together. We drove all the way from Kona. We made a 10am tour time the night before. When we got there we were lucky to find out we were getting a private tour. My husband and I are over 250 pounds we got weighted and we were under 275 so we got to fly, that's why I was so afraid I didn't want to break anything and fall to my death. Silly I know. So big guys ! You can do it get your butt off the ground and try this out it's seriously so fun ! Reed and Brian are amazing they made us so comfortable and did all the set up to make sure we didn't get hurt. They are super knowledgeable about the local plants and you can tell they love their job. We had so much fun we considered booking the next time slot and going again. read more

I am really torn about how to review my experience. Our guides Josh and John (I think that was their names) were Great! Super personable, they knew their stuff, very friendly and all else. A+ The botanical garden and maze were pretty cool. I went out in the maze by myself before the zipline and was starting to get concerned I wouldn't make it out in time for the zip lines. The zip line tour was neat in that they shared about the massive mango tree, they had us sample various wild fruit that was growing around the area, etc. the last zipline by the waterfall was really cool and I liked that. As for all the other ziplines....they were pretty meh. Yeah, they went over a creek below, but they were short, pretty slow and it was a bit of a let down. I've been on about a dozen ziplines and these were the most boring outside of the natural beauty of the island. All in all, I think I'd do more research into something more exciting instead of booking this one again, if I could do it all over. If the botanical gardens and maze weigh more into your decision then you'd probably lean more towards 4 stars. For me, the zipline was the main thing, so that is what I'm weighing my review mostly upon. read more

The shuttle from ship to the Botanical spot was great with Charity and Kevin! Nice clean air conditioned party bus like thing. We got to keep our stuff nice and secure in there. Zipline part; No need for a backpack cause you won't zip with it on. A fanny pack or crossbag made for some adventure would be best suited to keep your important stuff on you. If you're gonna go with sandals...make sure you wear the kind with the toes covered. But really...any sneakers would go also. It's a part trail walk in some areas...but nothing serious. I had my GoPro 11 with battery pack and it was fine with all this. The Zipline on our rides had no brakes...and there were 2 guides with us the whole time. Justin and Orion were super knowledgeable, experienced, and hilarious. I had Justin going on my joke that I had fallen from a 30,000 ft. zipline and they had to cut 6 inches off my legs to save me...this was my first time ziplining. And I will definitely go again with these folks. They start you off on an easy line for the first few so that you become comfortable. Then you walk a suspension bridge which can feel intimidating...but you'll be alright. They offered starfruit, which was delicious, bug spray to help protect yourself from angry skeeters and what not, and water at the base. Bathrooms...there are none. They got porta-potties at base. Guys are okay cause it's fairly easier for us than women when out there in the sticks. I love how there is a history, information, and a connection from the guides to the land. This was perfect for my wife on her birthday and she doesn't like heights. But that last zip is one you don't wanna miss. If you hear cannonball between the guides on the walkies...tuck your legs like you're gonna do a cannonball because the winds can work against you. But have no fear...these guys are quick and good at what they do. read more

Big thanks to Reed, Echo, Ben and Olivia for making our first zip line experience a memorable one. Especially for my 6 year old son. He was terrified on the first zip, but our guides were super patient with him and helped him overcome his fear. After doing the first line he loved every other zip line. He even did one by himself, which was great and a pleasant surprise. Our guides were great and made the entire zip line adventure a fun one. They pointed out all the interesting plants in the garden and even had us try some yummy fruit along the way. Everyone in our group was great and super kind and nice to my son despite him freaking out on the first line. The highlights are the two dual zip lines, where I could ride the same time as my son and take videos of him. The last zip was epic as it was the longest and fastest. To top it all off we zipped past a beautiful waterfall. Overall a great experience and we would like to go back to try the Segway or ATV tour next time. read more

My wife and I like to do something fun and big every anniversary, and this year we decided to spend the morning zip lining with the Botanical World Adventures crew. Reed, Ipo, and Kelsie treated us like family the whole way through. They were lots of fun and very engaging. The views from the zip lines were stunning, especially the last one (the half-mile line.) Any hesitation I may have had about sending it down a line or crossing their draw bridge was eased by the amazing crew. They discussed installing a rappelling system down the side of their beautiful waterfall, and if it's up by next year, my wife and I will definitely return for our next anniversary and we will request the original crew by name. read more
