We had a bot bash party for our son's 8th birthday. It was fantastic - would hire them again in a second. We had 16 second grade boys and Zack did a great job keeping them engaged with tournament style play, team play, and all out battles. He even took on 4 of them at once which was hilarious. He has a variety of types of battle bots with different advantages and disadvantages which he rotates through fairly frequently. The combination of rotating the bits and changing up the format kept the kids engaged for hours. I was very impressed. He emphasized good sportsmanship throughout and was able to make sure everyone has a good time win or lose.

Bot Bash Party was a great experience from beginning to end. The team was professional, replying to emails quickly and thoroughly. Zach showed up on time and engaged the kids all through the process, including answering lots of questions about Battle Bots and robots in general. He was funny and emphasized sportsmanship and studying science. All the kids had a blast driving the bots -- some adults got in on the action, too. He made sure everyone got three battles, no matter if they won or lost in the tournament. My 11yo son loved every minute of his birthday party.

Zach ran a Bot Bash Birthday party for my 8 year old son and about 15 of his friends. Zach did a fantastic job hosting the party. The boys we are fully engaged, as were the dads that came for pick up and stayed to get in on the fun. Rave reviews from the boys, Zach gives 100% and stayed long beyond the call of duty to accommodate everyone. Zach had also worked one on one with my son helping him build a lego robot. He really drew out my shy son and was great about tailoring the project to my son's speed and interest level. ROBOTS RULE! Just went to my first "Robot Fighting" birthday party yesterday! My boys loved it!!!!! Zach was very professional and polite with the children. I really liked his presentation to the kids about sportsmanship. We are all there to have fun! Very different from your average b-day party. Zach game out for my son's 10th birthday party and there were about 15 kids there. This makes for one unique party! He's got 8 wheeled bots with him and an arena. Kids get to take turns trying to flip/crash/or run each other's bots out of the rink. Some of these bots get chewed up so Zach can either fix them on the spot or he pulls out his backups. Zach also teaches the kids about how he makes his bots, the physics behind some of the workings of the bots, and he even showed off the bot he plans to use in the upcoming annual RoboGames. Zach was awesome. We hired him for my son's birthday party and it was well worth it. 9-year old boys, teen girls, moms and dads all got into it and had a great time. His play by play is fantastic. This kids got a lesson in robots and technology. He even did some really entertaining yo-yo tricks while we had some down time to charge the bots. This was perfect for my robot enthusiast-child. He brought plenty of bots and switched them out as needed for repairs. The kids easily got the hang of it and were strategizing and maneuvering quite well quickly. He gave us plenty of time for set up, warm ups, tournament, and breaks. It certainly was not a rushed in-and-out party. It was different that anything we've ever hosted before. We had our 10-year old son's class over for a Boy Bash party in our backyard. Orion was amazing! He kept the boys and girls entertained for almost two hours. There was nonstop action and the parents just watched, while the kids were engrossed. Very fun! Highly recommend!! read more

We had Zach come out for my son's 11th b-day, with a total of 7 boys (+ me - a child at heart, and my 8-year old daughter). All the boys really got into it. Zach talks a little bit about the construction of the robots, and the rules in competition, and is good at keeping control over all the eager destructors. The equipment is also great - enough extra robots that some can be charging and some in use. Losers in the ladder get to play anyway in 2 on 2 rounds, or 2 on 1, with the 1 being a larger robot requiring the other 2 to work together. The price is a great deal - there's parts and labor that go into it - not just the purchase price (we fried a motor during heated battle). My daughter took a liking to "baby bunny", which actually is a pretty cool robot. She had a good time as well - I didn't really expect that since she's 3 years younger and none of her friends were around. Zach made her feel included. He also (I believe) manipulated things such that my son won the tournament (mainly choice of bots each kid had) - so while there's no guarantee the birthday boy'll win, I think there's subtle effort made in that direction. read more

This is a great place for girls and boys 7+ who are into robotics and coding. My son and his classmates had a blast at our fundraiser party. They have camps, parties and they also work with schools to host buy-in parties to raise funds. I am really looking forward to Walnut Creek Recreation adding Bot Bash to there school and summer camps. I highly recommend Bot Bash! read more

That was a great birthday party event. We hired Bot Bash Party for our son's 10 years birthday party, and they made it a big success. Diana, the battle bot, expert arrived early and was professional. Most importantly, Diana made it a lot of fun. All of the kids (and parents) were totally into it for the full 120 minutes - which says a lot for a dozen 10 year old boys. The party was a big success. We would definitely recommend Diana and Bot Bash Party. read more

My son Zach who turned 11 yrs old found this in the internet and asked me if he can have a Bot Bash Party cuz he likes BattleBots. I told him that I'm going to check it out. I read good reviews. But still I didn't know what to expect. Bot Bash delivered more than I expected! My son and his friends had a BLAST! And even myself had fun watching the battles and the kids having a good time. As far as birthday parties for 10 year old boys go, Bot Bash was a huge hit for my son and his friends. First, the boys got to practice maneuvering the robots, and then they got to hone their skills in several tournaments. The kids learned about robotics as well as sportsmanship. I was trying to find a party that engaged the kids at their age level, and Bot Bash was the perfect choice. The kids' dexterity and control was just right for handling the robots. We just had the pleasure of using Zach for a 13th birthday party. He was professional, knowledgeable, organized and pleasure to work with. He was great with kids and goes out of his way to make it a special event. His tournament board is great to keep the kids engaged, and he has lots of other game variations to make it a fun birthday party. Although I let the boys have all the fun, this would be very fun for a party of adults! He knows so much - and has a talent for working with kids and explaining all about building robots. Zach is amazing, we had 15 seven year old boys for a birthday party for my son and Zach was incredible in managing all the kids, he was engaging, fun, kind and educational-the overall experience was excellent and I highly recommend Bot Bash for any age group, the adults also got into the robots (arguably even more so than the kids). Everyone had a great afternoon. Zach is very professional and flexible and wonderful to work with on many levels. We were looking for a fun, exciting, educational and memorable party experience for our son's 11th birthday and we found that and so much more with Zach Lytle and BOT BASH Party! First, Zach Lytle is an extraordinarily talented, smart, engaging, professional and fun guy! We had a fairly large group of very high-energy kids and Zach had every single one of them - including adults - riveted with excitement with his custom made robots for well over 2 hours. He made sure to include each and every one of our guests and even entertained and enthralled the kids with stories about how he built and competed with his robots, and performed yo-yo and magic tricks while we served cake. At the end of the party, ALL of the kids lined up to get his autograph! Zach is such a kind and caring person - no one wanted him to leave! Zachary Lytle is an accomplished robot builder and teacher. He has over 10 years of experience building robots and placing in robotics tournaments. He has won the world robotics tournament (RoboGames) four times and has won over 15 regional contests. Zachary has a passion for teaching and loves working with children. He taught summer school courses for three years and has served as a teaching assistant for five years. He has also provided private robotics lessons to adults and children.

With that said, Jenbert Jr 1 (6.5 years, entering 1st grade) had so much fun here. On her first day she played soccer, read in the library, made a bracelet, played interactive games with the counselors, went down the slip & slide, and played on the playground. She came back with an equally big smile on her face after the second day talking about finding Chucky the chicken, all the games she played, and pieing volunteers in the face. Jenbert Jr 1 is usually a fussy eater but she liked a lot of the meals here. She enjoyed the rest of her time here and can't wait to come back next year. As a parent, I love the flexibility, variety of activities (both the core and rotating), and the fact that nut-free lunch and snacks are provided. There are also veg and GF options. When things finally opened, there were extremely long lines, and they were unable to participate in any activities except for a 20-minute sewing session before being excused for lunch. They were repeatedly told to return an hour later on many activities, so they tried the library, which was closed, and then searched for athletic equipment like balls or anything, only finding none that weren't already being played with. In essence, the kids were left with no options and were forced to sit around and observed other kids doing the same, which is not what we expected from what was advertised. I understand that the camp has a high number of kids the last week of summer, but it should not compromise their overall experience. I had to pick them up early because they literally had nothing to do. I am a working mom and was really hoping this camp would have worked out for them for the next day. Therefore, I requested a full refund but nobody ever got back to me about it. Super disappointing and a fair warning for others who are looking to enroll in this summer camp in the future.

It was a 3 week camp, 4 hours a day. In that short time, they produced a kids play...The Jungle Book...from start to finish, complete with singing, dancing, costumes and sets. It was amazing what they were able to accomplish. And the quality of that production was impressive...much higher than any of the other school plays or park district programs we have seen. Each day, the kids took "classes" in acting, singing, and dancing, but with plenty of time for play, games, and camp type activities. Renee, Rena, and Amy are very good with the kids. And the amount of care, creativity, and love that they put into their business really shows. The difference it made in our daughter, after just 3 weeks was amazing. She made new friends that she wants to keep in touch with. She is a little less shy than she used to be. And she sings and dances a lot more, even when she knows people are watching. I think it will be the highlight of her summer. And I think Lamorinda Theatre Academy's program will be a very good influence on her growth, poise, and confidence, and will be a lot of fun for her!

I was looking to get a morning walk in and a family member brought me to this trail which she typically runs. We parked at the community center off of St Mary's road. Just one of many locations that you can catch the trail. Plenty of parking was available. The 7.65 mile trail runs on both sides of St Mary's road through Lafayette and Moraga We decided to cross over to the other side of the street from the community center and walk towards Moraga. The paved trail can be used for biking and horses as well. The trail towards Moraga has quite a bit of inclines and makes for a good workout. I went 2 miles in and turned around at Rheem Blvd for a 4 mile round-trip walk. Beautiful scenery and lots of people walking their dogs.

It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

Life's a beach, enjoy the waves! Okay, I just made that up...but, it sounds cool, right? I know! :)…read moreIf you think that was cool, then you must check out Benicia Public Pier & Beach! Beautiful views (including Carquinez Bridge in the distance, mountains, Amtrak was chugging along in the far distance also!), ocean air, and a breeze. It was pretty cold and foggy when I first arrived. Then, the sun peaked out more and got some vitamin D. I took a nice stroll on the sidewalk that winds around the pier and by a restaurant and some homes. The ocean view stayed front and center the entire time. There wasn't many people there at the time I went. It felt like I owned the area to myself for a little bit :) There's street parking (free). There were benches all along the sidewalk and the pier, if you just want to sit and watch the ocean waves. I definitely will be returning for some more Vitamin sea time! :)

The bot-bash party was way beyond my expectations! The concept is so different from other typical kids partes, and the bot-bash tournament absolutely wowed the kids. On top of the fun, the children were learning about robotics! Zach is THE most patient, kind, and knowledgeable host - every child was included, engaged and excited throughout. As a bonus, Zach gently reinforced the rules of good sportsmanship; consequently, there wasn't a bad sport all day - in a room full of seven year-olds, that's pretty amazing. Zach went above and beyond and even stayed overtime to show the kids cool yo-yo tricks. At the end of the day, as I tucked my newly seven year-old son into bed he said to me: "Please promise Zach can come to every party my whole life." Bot Bash birthday party this last weekend was a success! Zach was wonderful, and handled the 10 and 11 year old boys beautifully. He's a pro. The kids loved it. I enjoyed talking to him, learned a lot, and appreciated his enthusiasm and warmth. I got to participate twice driving one of the battle bots in a "free for all" and I loved it. We are totally satisfied and recommend it. read more

Thank YOU so so much! What a fantastic party!!! Truly - everyone had fun and I was able to relax. Diana did a FANTASTIC job of leading the event - keeping it under control and so FUN. Loved that she mixed in tournament play with matches for those knocked out keeping everyone engaged. And her commentary during the matches was classic! I will absolutely recommend Thanks! read more

I had a party for my 27th birthday, and hired Zach to come and do Bot Bash for my friends and I. We had a blast! It was everything I had hoped for and more. His price is very reasonable for the extraordinary service he provides; I was even compelled to leave a handsome tip. I would do this again! read more

We used Bot Bash at an elementary school fundraiser and the kids had a blast! The kids were on their feet cheering and rooting for the various robots. I would give Zach the highest recommendation! Thank you Zach for a great time! read more
