Zach ran a Bot Bash Birthday party for my 8 year old son and about 15 of his friends. Zach did a fantastic job hosting the party. The boys we are fully engaged, as were the dads that came for pick up and stayed to get in on the fun. Zach game out for my son's 10th birthday party and there were about 15 kids there. This makes for one unique party! He's got 8 wheeled bots with him and an arena. Kids get to take turns trying to flip/crash/or run each other's bots out of the rink. Some of these bots get chewed up so Zach can either fix them on the spot or he pulls out his backups. Zach also teaches the kids about how he makes his bots, the physics behind some of the workings of the bots, and he even showed off the bot he plans to use in the upcoming annual RoboGames. Zach was awesome. We hired him for my son's birthday party and it was well worth it. 9-year old boys, teen girls, moms and dads all got into it and had a great time. His play by play is fantastic. This kids got a lesson in robots and technology. He even did some really entertaining yo-yo tricks while we had some down time to charge the bots. This was perfect for my robot enthusiast-child. He brought plenty of bots and switched them out as needed for repairs. The kids easily got the hang of it and were strategizing and maneuvering quite well quickly. He gave us plenty of time for set up, warm ups, tournament, and breaks. It certainly was not a rushed in-and-out party. It was different that anything we've ever hosted before. We had Zach come out for my son's 11th b-day, with a total of 7 boys (+ me - a child at heart, and my 8-year old daughter). All the boys really got into it. Zach talks a little bit about the construction of the robots, and the rules in competition, and is good at keeping control over all the eager destructors. The equipment is also great - enough extra robots that some can be charging and some in use. Losers in the ladder get to play anyway in 2 on 2 rounds, or 2 on 1, with the 1 being a larger robot requiring the other 2 to work together. The price is a great deal - there's parts and labor that go into it - not just the purchase price (we fried a motor during heated battle). My daughter took a liking to "baby bunny", which actually is a pretty cool robot. She had a good time as well - I didn't really expect that since she's 3 years younger and none of her friends were around. Zach made her feel included. He also (I believe) manipulated things such that my son won the tournament (mainly choice of bots each kid had) - so while there's no guarantee the birthday boy'll win, I think there's subtle effort made in that direction. read more

This is a great place for girls and boys 7+ who are into robotics and coding. My son and his classmates had a blast at our fundraiser party. They have camps, parties and they also work with schools to host buy-in parties to raise funds. As far as birthday parties for 10 year old boys go, Bot Bash was a huge hit for my son and his friends. First, the boys got to practice maneuvering the robots, and then they got to hone their skills in several tournaments. The kids learned about robotics as well as sportsmanship. I was trying to find a party that engaged the kids at their age level, and Bot Bash was the perfect choice. The kids' dexterity and control was just right for handling the robots. We just had the pleasure of using Zach for a 13th birthday party. He was professional, knowledgeable, organized and pleasure to work with. He was great with kids and goes out of his way to make it a special event. His tournament board is great to keep the kids engaged, and he has lots of other game variations to make it a fun birthday party.
