When you start reading reviews for IVF clinics--especially larger ones like Boston IVF--you'll see…read moreeverything from glowing five stars to stories of heartbreak. After going through it myself, I've learned that it's not really about the clinic itself. It's 100% about the team you work with. And if you're lucky enough to work with Dr. Emily Seidler and her incredible team then you've found the gold standard. We had a really difficult start at Boston IVF and came close to switching clinics entirely. The care we first received was impersonal and left us feeling completely lost. At first, we thought we could tolerate that if it got results--but over time, we realized our specific needs, questions, and goals weren't even being considered. The doctor was focused on what they assumed we wanted, rather than actually listening and working with us to maximize our outcomes. And then we met Dr. Seidler--and everything changed. Dr. Seidler is one of those incredibly rare people who is both deeply brilliant and genuinely kind. She doesn't just follow a set protocol--she pays attention. And I mean, really pays attention. When I did my first egg retrieval under a different doctor, we ended up with 7 eggs--and a massive insurance headache. We felt completely failed by the system. Then we met Dr. Seidler. She took the time to understand us--our goals, our history, our insurance limitations--and helped us make smart, thoughtful decisions that were truly in our best interest. Under her care, my next retrieval produced 22 eggs. That wasn't luck--that was her tracking how my body was responding and adjusting the protocol with care and precision. She stayed engaged, curious, and genuinely invested. She noticed things. She remembered things. She made us feel like we actually mattered--not just as patients, but as people. That kind of brilliance and humanity in one person? It's honestly a unicorn-level combo. And then there's Robin and Nikki, the two amazing nurses who make up the rest of this dream team. These women are absolute rocks. IVF is emotional, confusing, and full of logistical twists and turns, and they helped us navigate all of it with so much grace, clarity, and PATIENCE. They fielded every voicemail, email, and question (and yes, I had many!), and always responded with such kindness and patience, like I wasn't being overwhelming--even when I 100% was. Their kindness didn't come from a script--it came from presence. From actual care. And you can feel the difference. Thanks to this team, I felt supported, seen, and in incredibly capable hands at every stage. Their combination of expertise, compassion, and steadiness helped me stay grounded through a process that is anything but predictable. They didn't just guide me through treatment--they held me through it, with so much heart. And now, after three egg retrievals and three embryo transfers, I'm sitting here, 20 weeks pregnant, feeling this little baby kicking (!!) as I type--and the gratitude I feel is hard to put into words. I know I will carry this team's impact with me for the rest of my life. Dr. Seidler, Robin, and Nikki didn't just help us get here--they gave us the gift of feeling truly cared for in the most vulnerable moments. I will never forget what they've done for our family. If you're wondering whether Boston IVF is right for you--my honest advice is this: don't just look at the clinic, look at who you'll be working with. The right team makes all the difference. And with Dr. Seidler and her team, you'll be in the best possible hands. Their care changed everything for us.

In my experience she has been caring, compassionate, and always responsive to my needs as a patient. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Endometriosis and following laparoscopic surgery performed at BIDMC I was able to get pregnant from one IVF cycle with a fresh embryo transfer. My wife and I are overjoyed that following a long wait for surgery due to COVID-19 I was able to get pregnant so quickly. Thank you Dr. Seidler!

I recently completed a 3-month course of Wellness Coaching with Rachel Gargano. It turned out to be…read morea surprisingly incredible investment...in myself. It seemed like so much in my life was just wrong. I was feeling depressed, overweight and frustrated with myself for not being more accomplished in my life. Can you say low self-esteem? But part of my problem was not knowing what I wanted to accomplish. When I found Rachel, I went to her with the vague notion that I wanted something to change in my life. In fact, I wanted a lot of changes. Basically I set "improve my life" as a 3 month goal. I wanted to feel positive about myself, I wanted a sense of fulfillment. But Rachel didn't back away from my ambiguous needs. Methodically, week by week, she helped me identify the sources of my distress and set targeted mini-goals to work on tackling the issues I had. My personal experience started and ended with an emphasis on nutrition. I was overweight and unhappy. But with each appointment with Rachel, we uncovered a realm of issues that were unexpected and varied and entirely managed by Rachel's expertise! I was amazed that she had so much more to offer than nutritional advice. She dealt with my blues and my lack of motivation with calming advice and that list of weekly mini-goals that were doable, imminently helpful and always on track with my vision for the positive person that I wanted to become. Who knew that a gratitude exercise could make me appreciate my life? Rachel did. Daily, she had me write down 3 things that I was grateful for. This task turned out to be one of the most eye-opening for me. Try it! One thing that I registered every week was Rachel's non-judgmental attitude toward me and my problems! I never felt inhibited by what her reactions to my needs might be. From the beginning, I felt I could trust her and in turn I was able to honestly face my difficulties. It has been quite a journey and as of today I've lost 8 lbs and could not feel more positive about the direction of my life. I have optimism again but more importantly, I have tools in place not only to counteract negativity, but to actively work on positive change. An unexpected upshot to this whole experience has been my husband's involvement with "our" new way of life. He's lost 15 lbs and we plan our meals and exercise with a brand new sense of togetherness. I certainly didn't expect that. Rachel's Nutrition and Wellness coaching was so much more than I bargained for. It was a weekly boost that set me up for life.

After 3 1/2 years of IUIs and in vitro, 3 miscarriages and zero answers, I finally decided to split…read morewith my old clinic and try Boston IVF after some research. Even though I never took advantage due to distance, I appreciated that they have the Dolman Center (offering things like acupuncture, yoga, nutritional consults, etc) and obviously get the link between mind and body. They also offer a number of clinical trials at any given time, so if you're interested, they usually post them on their site. Within the first 20 minutes of my consult with Dr. Thornton (in the Worcester office), she asked, "Do you have any other health problems besides mild PCOS?" I responded, "I don't have that." Turns out I do and my old clinic just never thought it was relevant enough to mention. I can't tell you how relieved I was to have a Dr. give me such a definitive answer and seem confident that they could address it. After discussing some tweaking she planned to do with my meds for my next cycle, she concluded the appt. by saying, "You will get pregnant and carry to term. I can't promise you how many tries it will take, but it WILL happen." I left feeling like I was on the right track. My cycle went smoothly and I was monitored far less than at my previous clinic. At first it made me a little nervous because I have always had the tendency to hyperstim, but they truly knew what they were doing. I'm now pregnant, safely past the "danger zone," with twins. As a side note, monitoring is not available in satellite offices on weekends, so get ready to fight the crowds in Waltham. My suggestion? Get there EARLY. The staff was great. The receptionist in Worcester, Jean, was a total sweetheart and really on the ball. She'd take care of scheduling, insurance stuff, or in my case, FMLA paperwork incredibly quickly and always seemed eager to go the extra mile. In the Waltham office, the ultrasound techs were always nice and never made you feel rushed even though there were probably a ton of women waiting. The err... "special" room that male partners use prior to egg retrieval was modern and again, the staff never made my husband feel rushed. We had an awful experience at our previous clinic where they basically told him they were on a tight schedule and he'd have to hurry it up. Poor guy. So in any case, my husband was also a fan of BIVF. The kicker was when I accidentally left my inhaler there the day of egg retrieval and someone actually called and said since she lived in my area (about 45 minutes away), she could drop it off to me on her way home. Who does that?! 3 1/2 years with another clinic with no results. 1 cycle with BIVF and my family is complete. Just saying.

The only reason for going forward is that I do really like the doctor, however it's becoming abundantly clear that the one and only time I met with her will probably be the last time I have an appt with her, as I'm already scheduled to meet with the PA once it's all said and done. As a medical professional myself, I am truly appalled at how poorly they speak to patients, the nurse who called with instructions was clearly reading off a script like a patronizing robot, no care or compassion whatsoever. Because you can't get ahold of anyone, tips and tricks for dealing with some of the pain for injections I've had to go on Reddit to find out. Billing department are complete idiots also, have no idea what they're talking about and I will absolutely be looking at any bill with a fine tooth comb. If I decide to ever do this again, I will be transferring my care immediately somewhere else and advise others to steer clear!

For the 99.9% of you who haven't read my other reviews, I *reeeeeally* can't handle venipuncture. The thing about fertility treatment, though, is that once you start messing around with medications, there's more phlebotomy than you can shake even a dozen butterfly needles at. It's a close call, but I *DO* want my existing child to have a sibling more than I want to avoid blood draws forever, so into the breach I have gone. And you know what? The phlebotomists here have been *so good.* Quick, kind, gentle, understanding, & in two months' time I haven't been butchered once. (A special shout-out to Stephanie at the Dedham location, too, for being the first person to draw my blood after that Quest New Brighton debacle--& she did a beautiful, painless job! I'm not a difficult draw for people who know what they're doing.) So on the (extreme) off-chance it's your aversion to phlebotomy that holding you back from seeking fertility treatment...fear not. You're safe here.
