Visited Boscov's today and had a sizable purchase. Loretta went out of her way today. I inquired about opening an account and she scanned my license and the entire computer system shut down. She explained they had a new system and there may have been a glitch. She personally walked me to another register and had to rescan all my items (God bless her) and with the help of her associate, Sarine, they were able to help me open an account. They were so kind and patient and apologized profusely for the delay and inconvenience. They should be commended for their outstanding customer service. read more

I placed an order online for during black friday sales event. I was there to pick up my order and the pick up location is tucked to the side of the building. The process was convenient, but their online ordering may be a little outdated. The staff was friendly abd the pick up process was one of the quickest I have experienced. read more

I've been shopping at Boscovs for years along with my Mom. I recently went to the Clifton Park store to do some Christmas shopping. While at the jewerly counter I witnessed store associate name Sharon be very rude to 3 customers. She asked customers to leave her line and to check out with a different cashier because she felt her line was too long. Customers had already waited to be redirected. She complained that she works 2 days a week with no one to help her. She complained and was rude which made waiting in line for her to cash you out was a little scary. I didn't know if she would treat me like that. Well of course she did. I didn't want to spend my money there so I left the store. Customer Service has really slipped away at Boscovs. I think I should check out Kohls. read more

Awesome store! A bit outdated but it's still clean. Not always a clerk at a desk and you have to scavenger for one sometimes.

Boscov's is a great place to shop. Staff has several different tasks, I'm sure. The associates are usually very helpful. I love the quality of their merchandise. Great selections and unbelievable bargains. You can find almost anything you're looking for and more. You just don't find stores around like this anymore. I needed dress pants due to some downsizing lately. I hate clothes shopping, especially for dress clothes, and don't like to go alone. But, my wife was out of town and they were having great Father's Day sales. So, I put on my big boy pants (which were now too big) and went over on a rainy Sunday morning after church. Walking in from the parking lot, I didn't know where to go and there wasn't an interior map by the doors (which would help). I saw the down escalator, went down, and found myself in the ladies, children, and toys section. Wrong floor apparently. The map I found in the middle of the store directed me upstairs, and from there I navigated my way to the men's ware section. The stuff was neatly bundled (going when they open is probably the secret to that) and I found what I was looking for. Their changing rooms look like they need to be redone, as the lock on mine was broken and it was dirty. But, it worked. I walked out with new pants (yay) within about 20 minutes (double yay) and saved a bunch of money (triple yay)! read more

A couple of weeks back, I stepped into this store. I was trying a jean in the fitting room, on the first floor. After I stepped out of the fitting room, a black female staff asked me if I left anything there. I said no. She suddenly became grumpy and nearly shouted at me " I wonder what you were doing there?" I was shocked. I did not get what she meant at the first place, then later I got to understand she wanted me to take the jean out. I have a question to Boscov's management team. Isn't this staff's job to sort the stuff out in the fitting room? If yes, then she should be fired because she does not want to do her job. Should your staff shout at customers because they did not take clothes out? If no, then she should be fired, because she is so ill mannered! I cannot believe Boscov hired this black female who holds so much hate in her heart! Be careful when you ran into this woman! read more

I've been in and out of this location for a couple of years now, and I honestly can't tell the difference between Boscov's and Macy's. (I found marked down Thanksgiving napkins here, no placemats, and found the matching placemats, no napkins, in Macy's on the same trip). Boscov's staff have been very nice and accommodating, and don't quite have that "Macy's Face" the Macy's staff seem to have in every store across the country. The difference seems to be largely in the sale strategies, and I'm not good at pouncing on the Macy's periodic bargains in particular departments, while Boscov's doesn't seem to be shy about having spot bargains no matter what the department. That doesn't help a scatter-brained department store shopper such as myself, of course. It's still hard to shop for kids clothing, which is what usually lures me into department stores (I just don't do well), but at least Boscov's doesn't confuse me with layers of coupons like Kohl's or mysteriously empty racks, like Sears. In any event, happy to have it as a point of comparison at a mall that still has three anchor stores. Power tip: the rear of Boscov's is one of the few places to find parking at Colonie Center, which has a horrendous parking arrangement, for easier entry to the mid-mall, although when it fills up you'll be stuck parking in the way-out areas by Sears and Macy's. Come through on the Macy's / Sand Creek side to get into the oddly disconnected Boscov's rear-side parking areas most expeditiously. read more

We have shopped at Boscov's since we moved to Ballston Spa, NY. My husband is a veteran, and we were told Boscov's had a veteran's discount. We were also told that I, his wife, could take advantage of that discount. My daughter had also used his veteran's discount and "thanks for your service" always followed her purchase. Today, I went to Boscov's in Clifton Park. My husband recently had knee replacement surgery and was unable to travel so he gave me his card. The manager, so she said, told me I could not use his card. I'm in my mid-70's and drove from Ballston Spa to Clifton Park to shop there. I asked to speak to the manager. A woman claimed to be the manager. I say claimed because I couldn't believe someone so rude and dismissive was allowed to be a manager at such a well-known department store. For the last 4 years, both my husband and I had used it. Since we only went to Clifton Park 3 times a year, so it wasn't like we overused it. After that experience, I will never return to Boscov's. read more

I've had really good luck at this Boscov's. This is my favorite place to shop in Colonie Center for men's clothes. Some years ago, when I had lost a bit of weight, this was the only place I could find a fitted suit which required minimal alteration, and it was significantly cheaper than anything at Macy's. I was also pleasantly surprised by their furniture department in the back. The employees are friendly, courteous, and quite helpful without being in-your-face about it. I'm disappointed that the folks at the Wilton Mall denied Boscov's the opportunity to build a store there (because they wanted a 2-story store and were told "No"). Wilton's loss. read more

Unprofessional staff with terrible behavior!! I frequent this location often and typically spend +$200 per visit as I like browsing and end up with more than I plan for. On my day off Sunday 11 April I was perusing the isles w my cart and was followed by a young employee, he then stopped in front of my cart and asked when I was ready to check out. He insisted; at first I was confused, then humiliated. I asked him why I looked like I was checking out and why he followed me, he began to get defensive which confirmed to me I was a target of biased security methods. After what seemed like a long argument, he dispelled me and my concerns while other employees watched and walked away mid sentence. Stunned, I teared up and ran to the cashier to quickly finished my purchase. I did not expect to be treated like a criminal, as I left I made sure to provide a receipt for my bags to the security at the door to ensure I was not harassed any further. I will never set foot in that store again and fear that Colonie Mall may be off limits for me, I truly hope I never see that young man again. For future shoppers, make sure you don't arouse suspicion or browse too much, go in, get what you need, and LEAVE. They will mistreat and throw away their customers, I recommend ANYWHERE else to do your shopping. read more

Aside from now, I have always been very pleased with Boscov's. However, I have spent at least a half hour TRYING to connect with someone to ask a simple question. Numerous attempts have led nowhere --- just one problem after another. What's going on? If communication can't be better than this, I will take my business elsewhere in the future. This Boscov's has a large selection of clothes, furniture, and appliances, but the majority of the employees are terrible. I was shopping in the sports section and I picked up a football and this huge guy with a stained shirt came up to me and said I wasn't allowed to touch the football. He said he was security for Boscov's, but I don't think this was true. Also, when I was looking for a new couch this older worker told me to leave because I wasn't a serious shopper. I pulled out $500 in my wallet and he quickly changed his tone, but I left after that. This store has a large selection for decent prices, but the most of the employees are angry and rude. read more

The one thing I like about Boscov's is that I can always go there and find a special occasion dress... All there clothes aren't for just kids... Not everyone is in the 15-30 group! The prices are reasonable and the sales are great and frequent! I shop here for my DH too! read more

This was my first visit to the store since moving to Albany recently and I was looking for a pair of women's jeans. Firstly, there were about 4 brands of women's jeans that I could locate in the store. No sale people approached me to help me find what I was looking for. I was pushing my daughter in a stroller and the racks were very difficult to navigate with a small umbrella stroller. A larger stroller wouldn't even fit between the racks. The fitting rooms are all located directly behind cash registers, to the point you had to walk around the register to get to the fitting room, as if they are anticipating needing to stop shoplifters. On the same token, the fitting rooms were dirty and not staffed, for a store concerned with shoplifters I would think you would want the rooms staffed. The light was out in the handicapped fitting room also. I realize that shoplifting may be an issue for this store, but there should be a way to keep it under control without making customers feel like criminals. When I checked out, the sales clerk forgot to remove the security tag from my jeans. I did not notice this until leaving a different store when I set the alarm off. I had to go back to the store, with a upset and hungry toddler, to get the security tag removed before going home. I can honestly say that I was excited to find some pants I liked at the store, but was disappointed in the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the staff. I try other department stores first before coming back here next time I have something to shop for. read more

This boscov's has amazing prices and deals going on all the time. $3.99 for nice long and short sleeve shirts? I love it. I also bought a great belt on a sale for under $10. But what made me write this review was the return process. While I loved the belt I decided I picked a bad color shirt based on a compulsive shopping decision. I went to return it and Quincy made the process more comfortable and easy than any other place you can get. Great job Quincy! read more

I like shopping in Boscovs when they have a good sale. They seem to have decent merchandise in all departments. However, they really should speak to their employees about customer service. Was there recently, purchased something in the front of the womens dept (near cosmetics at the entrance) The store clerk almost acted like I was bothering her. She barely mumbled a word during the transaction, threw my receipt in the bag, and tossed the bag toward me, no thank you or anything. And she's always like this as I've been rang up by her other times. Clerks in the shoe dept aren't too efficient either. Management at this location really needs to speak to staff about how they act toward customers and then follow up with some observance of these employees. read more

Terrible customer service, and not enough employees. I was in the store yesterday, MLK day, and you would think there would be many more employees to cover their sales. NOPE. I was specifically looking for curtains, and the woman in that department was rude and inconsiderate, as well as understaffed. She was opening a credit card for a customer, and it seemed to take FOREVER. Regardless, the store has an amazing curtain collection, but unfortunately a very rude associate in that department (at least yesterday, anyway). I ended up checking out my purchase at another location, where the woman was lovely and wonderful. Unfortunately, I had to wait at least 20 minutes for a purchase of less than $50.00. My advice, it's a holiday! Get more associates, or at least train them to be courteous and respectful. Needed help to look for other sizes in the curtain area, but there were NO associates to help. Bad, bad, bad customer service! Will probably return to revisit your curtain collection, but will know ahead of time that I will be on my own. read more
