When a different contractor attempted to charge us for demolition and remediation work that hadn't been performed to industry standards, Greater Seattle stepped in to help us recognize their false claims, document flaws in their work, and gather evidence that the job was not complete. Throughout the entire process, they were always honest, communicative, and quick to address any questions or concerns we had. As miserable as this experience has been, I can't imagine how much worse it could have been if we hadn't been lucky enough to find professionals as reliable and trustworthy as Greater Seattle to help us through it. I say they were gifted to me, and I truly mean it. The first time I met with Jeff and John, I left leaving knowing the rebuilding of my home was in great hands! More so, they were sensitive to the current situation, empathetic, listened to my ideas, (theirs was usually much better), answered all my questions, and so on. I've never had to rebuild a house; this was a scary process, but Jeff always responded quickly to me, which was beyond expectations. Every person I interacted was top notch!! Over the top!! This includes all the subcontractors, painters, electricians. I'd go to the house to take a peak, and there were all the little elves creating magic!! ; ) The final product was absolutely amazing, I could not believe my eyes! Again; when I had a question or a problem, Jeff was there on the spot-without attitude or making me feel like a pest. You are in great hands with this dynamite company!!!!

My daughter used Mr. K's and spent over $100k in renovations and they did a bad job. Caulking done…read moreincorrectly, tile issues, finish work sucks really bad. When asked to come back and fix what was wrong it took forever for them to come out and some of the repairs were still done incorrectly and they have yet to fix the items that still need to be fixed from a couple of years ago. Nathan is by far the best general contractor I've worked with. This is my 4th major house remodel…read more I'm convinced Nathan's quality and meticulous attention to detail shows as the project gets bigger. Almost anybody can set a toilet, but I've seen Nathan do so many detailed finishes and find creative solutions to our demanding design that I'm not sure he has limitations. I like that, unlike most of the contractors we met with, I could shop around for my own finishes without his mark up. When needed, Nathan would use his contractor discount for us to purchase at cost. Nathan is also super easy to work with. Like any project, adding items after the scope of work is agreed on can significantly increase the price. After all, they are already in your house, they (the typical general contractor) know you aren't going to want to shop for a better price and it's going to make sure it's worth their inconvenience if they have to squeeze you into their already tight schedule. We are so lucky to have Nathan working with us. He did so many extra random jobs that required his skill but without the inflated cost. At this point, there's nothing I wouldn't trust Nathan to do, and for a reasonable price, as long as he told me he could do it. I'd pick him again without question and recommend him to friends.

First impression was that he hit the basics of…read morereliability: he answered my initial call, scheduled a time, arrived on time, and sent a bid the same day. We have a 1925 house and asked Nathan to replace all of the carpet and linoleum on the main floor with 18 inch porcelain tile. This included a sunroom, living room, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. His bid was $2000 less than the other bids and he accepts credit cards. These were both deal breakers that, otherwise, would have prevented us from doing the project ... AND it included new, painted baseboards which the other bids did now. Additionally, other bids asked that we move all our appliances out of the kitchen and the move the toilet. We only have one bathroom. Nathan kept both our kitchen and bathroom fully functional throughout the whole process. It was always fun to see where the fridge would be when we got home from work each day! Nathan ran into a few snags. He had to raise the front door (you can do that?!), level out the sun room with cement, and work with very "wavy" tile. These set backs meant that rather than the estimated 5 business days, the project stretched to 8. He didn't charge us anything additional! He was more concerned with giving us a perfect floor than getting the job done quickly. Overall, we were 100% satisfied with Nathan's work and will call him for all future home needs!! In addition to the great work, being on time, and communicating well, I was impressed by how cleanly he worked. He taped off the area around the skylight completely and put down a tarp and left the area as clean as when he started. He also wore booties in the house without us asking. Remodeling can be a stressful process, but working with ANk made it a much easier process. Guillermo is a craftsman with excellent attention to detail. I had Metropolitan do my house roof a year ago and thought they did such a great job, I decided to…read morehave them add a metal roof to my outbuilding/shop. My main reason for the metal was due to fallen needles and branches not easily sliding off the asphalt shingles. I was not disappointed in this companies' performance. They came in a little less expensive than other quotes, which pleased me. They removed the old asphalt shingles, cleaned up at end of every day, and was on the job from start to finish. Communication was very good from front office to the workers. Metropolitan utilizes a customer portal which explains scheduling and cost status during the job. I was very impressed with this type of communication. There was also plenty of phone calls and e-mails to maintain timely project status of issues and questions. Char, Jasmine, Zoe, & Richard were continuously on top of things and great to work with. I am very, very, very pleased with this companies' job and how the roof looks now.

We hired Seattle Skylights / Roof Boss / Metropolitan Construction because they were listed as…read moreVelux Certified Skylight Specialists. For structural skylight cut-ins, we expected specialists who understood permits, engineering, and code compliance. This was our worst contractor experience. A job represented as 10 to 12 working days dragged from August 2025 to April 2026. It only reached completion after months of us catching problems, demanding permits and engineering documentation, stopping premature drywall scheduling, disputing improper charges, and chasing close-out documents. They performed structural work before we were provided permits or engineer-stamped documentation. Their contract said the work would be done to code. Cutting manufactured trusses for skylights requires engineering, permits, and inspection. When we raised the lack of permits over the phone, we were told we had not specifically asked for permits, and that the salesperson should not have included "to code" language in the contract. That was shocking from a company selling itself as a skylight specialist. After the original install, we inspected the attic ourselves and found cut truss members that appeared to be hanging or not properly attached, no visible hangers, large gaps, odd scrap-like framing, and no clear reinforcement. We had to demand permit paperwork, an inspection path, and engineer documentation that should have existed before work began. The insulation was wrong initially. The contract referenced R-40 insulation, but they first installed rough R-13 insulation that looked temporary and poorly fitted. We only got that corrected after pushing back. Even after engineer-stamped details were produced, their crew came back and still did not follow them. We found wrong hardware, missing vertical members, inconsistent fastening, hardware attached on only one face in some locations, and fasteners that did not match the engineered requirements. We warned months earlier that the screws were wrong and would not pass inspection. They denied there was a problem, then later had to send an installer back after inspection required correction. They tried to schedule drywall before structural and permit issues were resolved. We had to stop that from happening. They framed the permit delay as "King County takes time," but the inspector told us this timeline was not normal and only took this long because the contractor had not followed code and had to get the permit after the fact. Communication was terrible. Once issues started, the owner became verbally aggressive with my spouse on the phone, so we required communication in writing. Even then, they often did not respond until we escalated. Later he told us that if we had timeline concerns, we should "contact the county and threaten them." The office and field crews seemed disconnected. Installers did not understand the insulation requirements, structural work did not match the engineer's details, and later the drywall crew showed up without understanding the full scope. Jobsite management was awful. After one installer was injured, they left Ram Board with blood on it inside our home and did not notify us. We asked them to clean it up and they refused, so we removed it ourselves because we have pets. Later, their crew was visibly annoyed. They also tried to rely on thin painter's tarp where we had asked for proper floor protection. They left a Honey Bucket in our yard for months and appeared to forget about it until we reminded them near final payment. Their final invoice included charges for things they did not do, including interior scaffolding even though no scaffolding was used. Even after closing out the balance, they never responded to requests for the lien waiver/release discussed at the beginning and referenced in the contract. Completion does not redeem the experience. I would never hire this company again or recommend them for skylight cut-ins. A certified skylight specialist should not require months of homeowner pressure to complete a code-compliant job.

Edward saved us! We had a slab problem which required demolishing the kitchen and all of the…read moreflooring. We had a separate company do the initial slab-jacking but Edward and his team did the rest. They removed the kitchen cabinets gently so we could reuse them and save money. They leveled all the floors with self-leveling in our 2400 sq. ft. house and they are now perfect. In addition, we remodeled both bathrooms, replaced a few failed windows and patio doors, new flooring, and had the interior painted. We envisioned managing the project ourselves and had gotten quotes from various trades. We started to feel overwhelmed with the magnitude. Managing and scheduling the trades was a big issue. Our friend just had work done by Builder Land and recommended them to us. Edward came out and we explained the project and he gave us an estimate that we thought was a great value - and it was! From the start Edward's communication was great, always quick to respond to questions and issues. His calm, reassuring demeanor and positive attitude is an asset during the turmoil of a whole house remodel. He always wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied. During this time, we needed to live in the house and Edward and his team were very accommodating. They did everything, even moving our furniture to a storage pod - most contractors won't do that. The Builder Land team were the hardest working and most respectful group of workers we had ever dealt with - and we have done a couple of house remodels. They were always on time, always showed up and were respectful of our space. We are hands on type of people and whenever they saw us doing something they would come and say "no, we will do it for you" and helped us out. Builder Land also recommended sources for our windows, flooring and granite that were lower than we had found and their quality was great. Their tile work is outstanding. We are very fussy about tile layout and installation but Serge and Andrew did outstanding work. And Serge is an amazing carpenter and painter. Our painted, reused kitchen cabinets look like new. The electrician was the most efficient I've worked with and was neat and fast. The electrical inspector commented he knew of his good work on previous jobs. In the kitchen we reused the old cabinets and had a custom island and stove vent hood built. One of the more challenging and rewarding jobs was getting the countertop to perfectly meet and line with up the new 10-foot window behind our sink. The master bath remodel was a major job since it was the original 1970 large sunken shower. After a lot of jack hammering and replumbing we have a perfect zero clearance walk-in shower with a double vanity and a custom-built makeup station. One of the most impressive things was the quickness of the project. We started in mid-May and finished the bulk of it by mid-August. I would not hesitate to recommend Builder Land for any project. I'm sure we will use them again in the future.
