Well in my Donut Journey in Phoenix I discovered Rainbow Donuts…read more The donuts are massive in size. The flat square Cronut is fantastic, flaky, glazed, flavor bomb that sent me on a sugar high. The donut holes were fantastic & I wish I had gotten some. These were free. They were little bombs of delight that I could not stop eating them. The rest were just good average donuts. I would definitely stop back and would recommend the donut holes and Cronut.

The Best Donut Shop in Arizona!…read more Original Rainbow Donuts Cafe is hands down my favorite donut spot in Arizona. The donuts are pure perfection--soft, flavorful, just the right amount of sweetness, and always incredibly fresh. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. What really sets this place apart, though, are the amazing owners. They're incredibly kind and generous, always greeting customers with warmth and a smile. You can tell they genuinely care about the people who walk through their doors. Always clean and a great little welcoming donut shop! They have an impressive selection of donuts every single day, and recently they even extended their hours to be open seven days a week and stay open later--just so more people can enjoy their delicious treats, even later in the day. They make more donuts now too, and that just shows how committed they are to serving their community. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. This place is a gem!

First time I…read morehad it 5 stars, that pesto is so flavorful I thought there was meat on it (mind you I'm a pescatarian, so I was scared for a minute) Second time, the ciabatta was fighting me back (chewy like it had beef with me), so 4 stars. But flavor..still slaps. Third time is a charm....back to 5 stats! Now, about the doughnuts! They're fluffy, they're pretty, they come dressed to impress. But the toppings! Whew, sweet on sweet on sweet. And this is coming from me, someone who never says no to sugar. If my sweet tooth is waving the white flag, you know it's serious. The flavour came through with no artificial aftertaste. The double chocolate was not a chocolate donut. My bad for not reading the product description. It was chocolate frosting with chocolate chips to achieve the double title The donut itself was not greasy, but did not rock my socks with awe.

We were greeted by two friendly faces and asked if we visited before. The person behind the counter explained their array of offerings and was patient while we made a selection. There are a variety of donut flavors from plain to strawberry shortcake. In addition to donuts, they offer breakfast sanwiches, coffee, ice-cream, and cocktails. They also have a donut and beer flight! A bit spendy for a donut at $3.85 each or 4 for $15, but honestly, compared to other specialty donuts I've tried, this is worth it! The space was clean with plenty of seating. It was inviting and felt like a nice place to hang out for a bit. We opted for the maple as that's my go-to flavor and it did not disappoint! It was certainly sweet, but the glaze was well done. The layers are flaky, but also offered a bit of density, making the whole thing texturally enjoyable. We had to stop ourselves from indulging in another so as to not ruin our appetite, but we would certainly recommend and visit again!

I got the peach cobbler cupcake, which was almost $7, and for that price I was definitely expecting more. The texture was honestly so strange. The outside was dry and crumbly, while the inside had this really dense, gummy/doughy texture. Somehow it was dry and doughy at the same time. There were actual pieces of peach in it, but I could barely taste any peach flavor. Overall, it just didn't have much flavor at all. I'm not sure if it was specifically the flavor I chose or if it's because I'm not really used to vegan baked goods. I can definitely appreciate that they offer options for people who are vegan, have allergies, or have certain dietary restrictions and still want to satisfy their sweet tooth. But for me personally, the taste and quality just didn't justify paying almost $7 for one cupcake. The customer service didn't really help the experience either. Since it was my first time, I asked the girl at the front what their best sellers were and what she recommended. I was genuinely trying to make conversation and get some guidance on what I should try, but she wasn't very helpful or engaging. It honestly felt like I was talking to a wall. Overall, it's a cute spot and I appreciate what they offer for people with dietary restrictions, but between the price, texture, lack of flavor, and customer service, it just wasn't for me.
