Tamales!!! These are very good tamales. They are huge, and the masa has such great flavor that I could just eat that part of it and be happy. The family enjoyed the red (pork) the best, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the green (cheese & fresh jalapeno) and it turned out to be my favorite. There isn't a ton of filling like some others have complained about, but I actually like this ratio when the masa is so good. Now the donuts are very acceptable. The cake ones are better, the yeast ones are pretty passable. Just go for the tamales. read more

We walked here from our hotel because we love supporting local businesses when we can. The donuts are definitely a 5 star and we highly recommend. It was obvious they have been in business a long time from the lines inside and in the drive thru that we picked the right place. We ordered a chorizo burrito with potato. I haven't been to Bosa in a while. They have (or used to have) a vanilla cream filled chocolate donut that is the best in town. Since today was National Donut Day I decided to drive over there. I ordered a breakfast burrito and 2 cream filled chocolate donuts. The burrito tasted burnt and instead of cream filled chocolate donuts I got regular chocolate iced glazed donuts. So disappointing. We came to Bosa at 8:00 AM , for their donuts! We walked in as we had never visited before. There were lots of cars in the drive thru but they were obviously NOT ordering donuts! Everyone in this town has raved about the tamales. After one year of hearing about this place, I decided to get one dozen red pork tamales $22 great price, and rice and beans. I was excited. The rice and beans were good. The tamale masa tasted like they used old oil or old lard. The red pork meat was plenty and tasted ok. The tamales gave me heartburn. I'm absolutely disappointed. I was so disappointed with Bosa a few days ago. They used to be one of my favorites for a burrito and I'd gladly pay the higher prices if the quality was still good but the last burrito I got for breakfast was terrible. I ordered chorizo, egg, green chile, and cheese. That is a really easy breakfast burrito to make so they don't have any excuses for messing that up. They totally skimped out the fillings and the tortilla had burnt spots all over. I tried to tear off the burnt pieces but it still had that charred flavor throughout the whole burrito. Over the years I have tried everything on their menu! Never disappointed. Firstly, coming from one who grew up in a famous West Texas bakery cafe, the donuts and cinnamon rolls are the best in town. Unfortunately, you have to get there fairly early to have any. Secondly, the burritos are also the best in town. The brisket is my favorite, but I also get the ground beef and potato (no cheese for me) and the chorizo, egg and bacon! Mmmmmm... Thirdly, the posole is so delicious and satisfying. Ok, so we stop into this place two or three times a year. We stay in Las Cruces on our drive from Palm Desert to Roswell and back. That said....it's the doughnuts that make us stop.....OMG, this time I just happened to look on line to make sure they were open. I read the review about the tamales, I am kind of a tamale snob. This Four Star rating is based only on the donuts...not the dining experience or Mexican food. The service today (and I know they've had issues) was very good...pleasant and efficient. The prices were reasonable: $1.02 for a jelly filled donut and$1.80 for a delicious custard filled Long John. I was a little disappointed in my apple fritter as it had virtually no pieces of apple as they've had in days past. What had been great fritters on previous visits on this day were merely good. Rate the apple fritter today a "B"...meaning good but not up to previous standards. The blueberry filled donut was quite good but kind of what you expect. Rate it a "B" also. The custard filled Long Johns, however, were absolutely delicious...as good as it gets. Rate these Long Johns an "A+." Yes, they're that good. Today I rate Bosa Donuts four stars for really good donuts and pleasant service. I am not a fan of their Mexican food, but since I have not sampled it in a few years I will not comment on it. The donuts are unique and good--made daily. If you don't get there early your favorite donut will probably be gone, but I got what was left and it tasted like a pancake, but in the best way. I also had a breakfast burrito--bacon, egg, cheese, potato, and chili--it was simple, but the bomb! I like how they chop the bacon into bits. It tasted home made. I wanted to love this place! We drove out of the way to visit after promising our kiddos donuts. When we visited it was mid afternoon and the majority of customers were ordering plates to go at the time. When it was our turn to order an employee came from the back and took our order for two donuts. Her hands had food on them as if she had been preparing orders in the back and she handled our money with those hands and then dipped the donuts without cleaning/wearing gloves. It just seemed very unsanitary and she then had her hand in the bag adjusting the donuts. I didn't let my kids eat them because other people were also ordering, giving payment methods, etc. and there was no cleansing of the hands. This is our go to donut shop! They are on point. The yeast donuts are soft and delicious. Strawberry and chocolate frosting is really food. Bavarian filled chocolate bars are incredible. The old fashion donuts have a light crisp outside and are soft in the middle. The cinnamon sugar ones are like a churro! I like there turnovers, they are light and flaky and all the fillings are great. They have cherry, blueberry, and apple filling. You have to come early as they sellout fast.
